OR maybe they have more engagement because they have self motivated employees at certain locations

Great point! Do you think there was something that attracted those self motivated employees? Something they could change at other locations to attract more self motivated employees?

@JeanMoncrieff there's a lot of things, yes including better work environment a better management team but also without knowing the location things such as better conditions for the rest of the lives for the employees family such as schools and neighborhoods may help draw a higher grade of employees to the area. It could be as simple as better hiring practices. With more actual information to assume its one thing is ridiculous. Before I lost my left leg I was in the restaurant business for almost 30 years, have you ever eaten at a restaurant that was great but an hour away the same restaurant was dinghy and food was disgusting. That's usually just bad management but not always.

Can you give some real-life examples of companies who have done a random act of marketing and succeeded as well as companies who failed?

    • @JeanMoncrieff

Hi Tahseen, I see random acts of marketing (RAMs) in most companies. Confidentiality prevents me from mentioning names, but here are some examples: - We need a press release because we saw one from a competitor - The sales team see an opportunity for a new product and that necessitates a mini-website - Our competitors are talking about healthcare, we need to create a series of articles on the topic Often RAMs are driven by competitor activity in organizations with fixed-mindsets or without a clear vision. To your second question, sure they might provide short-term gain (although, I have yet to see any real results associated with RAM). My advice is always to have a clear vision for the business, set goals to get you there, build a marketing strategy to get you there and let strategy dictate tactics... not opportunities or tactics of the week. Hope that helps, and thanks for the question!

@@JeanMoncrieff Thank you so much, this helped a lot in understanding as to what Random Acts of Marketing actually is and how companies adopt this methods for short-term gains which leads to more loss in future. Thank you for your help. But, if I could get some real life examples 1-2 that would really clear this topic in my head, if that is possible in anyway.
