For real. If it isn't used as a pejorative, then getting offended about it is all just posturing and fake outrage. Personally, I feel that nobody should even want to say it given the history associated with it. Ricky Gervais had the best joke, though. "Black people using the N word is cultural appropriation! That's our thing!"

@@Iamister37the problem is deeper than the n word. You will hear the argument made that non black people shouldn’t ever use the n word… okay. But I think they would be just as outraged at being called about 8 other slurs. Coon, porch monkey, jive turkey, jiggaboo, etc. whereas other races aren’t nearly as defensive about being called stereotypes for their race. Cracker, spic, wetback, chink, beaner. They don’t really have the same effect. But when people say they shouldn’t use the n word I suspect they really would feel the same about being called any offensive slur by another race not just specifically the n word.
