Переглядів 66021 день тому
This week I dig into my archived video and take a look at a project where I made two #walnut drawers for an old desk. I got to take my time and do some half-blind dovetails to connect the fronts to the sides. #woodworking #finewoodworking

Week 24 Shop Vlog - Kiddo's Dress Patch Repair
Переглядів 25Місяць тому
This week I repaired my daughter's dress which came with a hole in it, rather than bother returning it, I just decided to patch it. It was an interesting repair since the fabric is stretchy, but I think it came out pretty good.

First video I've seen of yours and I really enjoyed it, I wouldn't mind seeing more project close-ups like this!
Thanks so much!! I'm still figuring out what this channel is, but I love doing the fine woodworking stuff as well as the more practical projects.
Such a beautiful joint. I definitely want to try it out myself.
Thanks! The Katz Moses tool is super helpful. I need to make some excuses to do more dovetails.
That looks like it will fall apart in about 2 months
I hope so! Then I can make it again, but better! Let me know if you have any notes.
Title should be how to waste a bunch of time on a puny box
Thanks for the note. The cabinet is the exact right size for what it's storing and proportionally fits within the space. But more importantly, I think how you do anything, is how you do everything. So I have no problem spending a lot of time on a gift for my partner, whether it be our dining room table or this diminutive cabinet. The goal isn't to make the biggest thing, but to make useful and beautiful things.
i like ur intro
Thanks! I made the sign on a previous video.
how are you with doing prison tattoos?
hahah! (snaps a bic pen), you want your lower back to say "i went to prison and all i got was this crappy tattoo"?
For how much I invested on Arcteryx gear, I’m pretty disappointed on all the taped seam. So far, I have a failed Alpha FL taped seam. Glued seam failed on LEaf Courier 15 bag. Gen 1 Cerium has leaky baffles, a second last year model Cerium had one sleeve baffle completely sans any down….
Oh that's such a bummer. I feel ya, trying to get something that will last and it starts to come apart, so frustrating. Did you try and repair it?
@@KolbWorkshop a couple items were new enough they either gave me a replacement or a full credit. My older Alpha LT, I attempted to reglue the tape with seam grip since Arc mostly likely would give me a third of what I paid…. but glue doesn’t stick to the fabric too well. I ended up using a low heat setting iron and went over the seams and that works okay
Nice build. Great in shop narration! Have you tried ebonizing as a substitute for the burned look?
I have tried in the past with the vinegar / steel wool solution. I love those results too. I go with the burning when I want to see a bit more texture, so it makes sense on a frame but I'd go with ebonizing on a table. Thank for watching!! Cheers!
Nice repair. Certainly looks quite a bit better at the lower height, as well as more stable I’m sure. 👍
Thanks! Yeah much more stable and better for a desktop. Cheers!
