Fuel Economy On A 2006 Toyota Camry (5th gen)
Переглядів 905Місяць тому
Here's a little fuel economy test on a 2006 (5th gen) Toyota Camry. This was a roundtrip of just under 500 miles. The trip was was not on level ground, plenty of elevation climbs. I used the AC a lot and cruising speed ranged from 55-80. Overall, I'm really happy with the gas mileage on my 2006 Camry! Here is an Amazon Affiliate Link to the ones I purchased: amzn.to/3sBoGpM I put these Fahren Forscher 9006 LED Headlights in my 2006 Toyota Camry. The Camry has reflector housing. I did my best to aim the headlights to reduce glare and blinding other drivers. I know that they can be aimed better. By the time I posted this, I've already made more adjustments to them.
2006 Toyota Camry LE Initial Impressions
Переглядів 33110 місяців тому
Picked up this 2006 Toyota Camry LE, these are my initial impressions after 4 days. I had to sell my 2011 Toyota Avalon Limited. I was working on selling it anyway, and the head gasket blew and it made more financial sense to sell as is than to fix it. I needed a car, so ended up picking up this.
2011 Toyota Avalon (3rd gen) 200k Mile Long Term Review
Переглядів 11 тис.11 місяців тому
Long term review of my 2011 Toyota Avalon. This is part of the 3rd generation. It has the 3.5L v6 and this body style was only for the 2011 and 2012 model years. In this video I talk about my ownership experience now that the car has around 200k miles. No, I haven’t owned it for the entire 200k. I picked it up around 160-165k miles. Car Mats - amzn.to/3weaTrc I picked up these Motor Trend FlexTough Deep Dish Floor Mats from Amazon. I was considering Weathertechs for my 2011 Toyota Avalon Limited, but didn't want to spend $180. These were $35 off Amazon, so for a $145 price difference, I feel they're probably the best universal all weather car floor mats you an get.

5 Things I HATE About my Toyota 4Runner (4th Gen)
You never said the cost.
How much ?
my 2004 V6 Camry get 29mpg on highway. love it because it smooth and quiet like Lexus. One thing don't like v6 because it uses timing belt instead of timing chain like inline 4 cylinder.
****182K Miles?, leave the Rims alone. Save the money for engine maintenance.
How does it drive and handle compared to the 2011 Avalon you had? Which do you like better?
I don't remember how the specs line up exactly, but I believe the ES is a bit heavier, but the Avalon was a bit longer. They drive fairly similar, but the Avalon felt just a tad more nimble. The ES feels more solid due to the increase in weight. I had the Limited trim of the Avalon, and have the premium base of the ES350. The Avalon had more features compared to my ES specifically. Both great cars, even though I've only had this one for a week!
Nice purchase. I currently own a 2013 Camry XLE 4 cylinder that has been a great car but one day would love to own a low mileage 2016-2018 ES350 (last generation of the 2GR-FE and 6 speed auto) I love smooth riding larger sedans.
Agreed on that! Especially if you're on the road a lot. That smooth ride is tough to beat!
Thank you so much!! If you have a Paypal account I would like to give you tip for you tip with the butterfly washers. I was cursing and screaming at the design and then dawned on me to look it up.
Hey no problem at all! No need for the tip, I appreciate the consideration though!
That's so true
Bro, what is the size of your car's rims and tyres?
I have a 2007 Limited. I’ve had it for 7 years. When i bought it, it had 64,000 miles on it. It now has 318,000 miles and still rides like a gem…..
And it should last a lot longer as well! Great cars, and extremely smooth.
this is the most brilliant re-purposing of a cd player in an old car!
It really is a great phone mount! Still have it to this day!
Does anyone know the depth of the drawers? I can’t find that info ANYWHERE! I want to use it to store camera equipment and some pieces are tall.
I use it to store my camera equipment as well. I use the top drawer for cords, chargers, smaller stuff. The second drawer is where I store my cameras, lenses, etc. I want to say the bottom 3 drawers are about 6-7 inches deep or so.
@@theaveragecar672 Thank you! I ended up buying it (surprisingly hard to find in the Chicago area). For anyone else who is interested, all the drawers are 22" wide and 16.75" Deep. The smaller top drawer is 3.375" high and the 3 bigger drawers are 5.5" high.
I have a 2006LECAMARY. Bought it new and now has 95k miles. Valve cover leaks slightly, no big deal. The car does not burn oil. Very reliable. I did change an alternator, fan belt, water pump, tires, front disc brakes. Now my second car and am happy with my 2017 LE.😊
I had the same issue. Valve cover had a leak but never burned any oil. It was a great car! Hopefully the 2017 lives a long and problem free life!
@@theaveragecar672 Has anyone had any problem with the MAF (mass air flow sensor)?
Have 227,000 on my 2006 xls still drives and runs great
And it should last a lot longer for ya!
I just bought my 2022 Avalon xle everywhere I go people ask me what kinda car is that... car run so dam smooth and v6 ain't no joke.. to bad it the last year.. hopefully Toyota bring back the avalon
Such a gorgeous design. Bummer they stopped making them for sure, they’re an underrated car!
Damn just got my 2011 74k miles 11k love it tho
Congrats! Crazy low miles, enjoy it!
@@theaveragecar672 thanks will do. such a soft ride and powerful engine
I'm doing 26 on the higway on my 04 XLE V6 with very feather foot 😆 but still got to put new spark plugs and do a full service on the fuel system. It's new to me, after years of low use and some neglect of previous owners (only 61k miles).
26 in that v6 isn’t bad at all! Jealous of the extra power you have. Such low miles, that’s going to last you a long time!
Thank you my hillbilly friend. Short and sweet.
Of course 🫡
Is this low beam or high beam, they seem really good
Low beam! They’re still doing great.
I like your Avalon! I have 2012 with 66k miles. 2nd owner. Car fax showed all previous maintenance records. Last year August, I moved from East to west, drove 3k miles, with full load of stuff rear seat and trunk. The car ran like brand new! The car handled full load of weight, especially l-70 from Denver to I-15. I used to have Infinity Q-45a back in 1994, it was a rear drive with 275 horse v8. This Avalon handles better than Infinity, though less luxury. With 35k added on your car, I would suggest check brake ( most places do it for free ). I just replaced rear brake on mine( according to the record it was first time ) cost $500.00+ at mechanic shop, but if you do your own, it can be less than 1/2. Thanks for the post! Have a happy ownership ! ❤😊
Such low miles, great find. That’s going to last a long while!
Thanks for the tutorial dog.
I had an 05 v6 LE and drove to 400K km (260k miles?) when i sold it, only regular maintenance and some minor issues. The rear bearing needed replacement at 350k km and the headlamp turned vert yellowish and need some toothpaste to be repolished, at 200k km the front o2 sensor went bad and replaced. Other than the aforementioned small maintenance issues it ran like new all the time.
Just bought one and I love it! Great car
They really are. Congrats on the purchase!
If I had to choose between the V6 or the four-cylinder Camry, I would choose the four-cylinder Camry you don’t wanna have to deal with spark plugs and ignition coils in the V6 engine, especially in the back.
Arent these suppose to have a rear wing on the trunk
I've seen some in the past, but mine never came with one.
We have a 2005 and the most mpg we’ve ever gotten is 28 mpg on a 275 mile round trip. 4 passengers and trunk packed full of luggage.
That's really not that bad for a loaded car! I had some equipment in it on this trip, and no passengers.
I had a 05 2AZ and id get around 40-45 MPG I would drive conservatively and my AC was only needed at 1/5 power because it was so cold!! I sold the 25’ years NEW in my city and the AC was colder in the 05’ !! HAHA.
I don't doubt that one bit! That's why I wasn't too mad about 33. I know that if I had less elevation change, drove a bit more conservative, I would have gotten way better. That's crazy that the AC was colder in the 05! They did really good with the 5th gens!
Is this camry a 4 cylinder or V6
This one is a 4 cylinder!
V6 is lower 20s
@@theaveragecar672 that’s the best Camry ever made drive it till the wheels fall off!
gonna need to replace that starter motor
👍
Thank you for that trick!!! I was fighting with these “snap” in washers!
the used camry's prices are so crazy nowadays.
They really are
Same money can get lexus same great drive teain but more luxury. Used camry.or lexus es avalon us in middle but gets lexus price camry almost as great but cheaper. Same cost get es lexus beyter ride more luxury and still toyota reliability. For price i go lexus, to save money go camry best bang for buck. Avalon muddle ground better tgan camry but more costly but can get equivalent es 300 350 better than avalon for sane cost. Jyst my 2 cents having owned all 3 in the 2002 to 2005 range on these 3. Have 03 camry v6 337k miles runs great but want another lexus for the creature comforts and.not much more for great used one. Been looking jyst waiting to find real clean.model that was maintained good.
Nice car, have 03 camry xle v6. One issue real long term test is much further away lol. My 21 yr old camry 337k miles, now that is long term test for toyotas 😅😅😅😅 sorry but for toyota anything under 250k miles is barely broken in😅. Saw video with late 90s camry with 600k plus miles, now that is REAL long term test for toyota. Unlike most cars toyotas last very long time. Long term test has different meani g when cars go 500k a lot. . Again love the avalin just messing with you. Look forward to update to video in 5 yrs as it will still be going most likely😊
Haha yeah absolutely. I only say long term because during my search, I loved hearing from people who have had the car for a while. Not just getting it for a day to shoot a video! They’ve definitely got tons of life left in them, and a year is a short time!
I have had a 1999 and a 2002 they where the same felt like it floated plenty of horse power
They're great cars!
You mean $1000
Nope, not where I live.
@theaveragecar672 I know, I incredibly lucky to find such a great car (2003 XLE) for that low, low price.
I just got the same car for 1,500
Nice find!
@@theaveragecar672 thanks
i like your tint. can you tell me what % it is on?
I had 15% all around
I just bought the 2012 limited with the V6. 2 weeks ago with 91k miles on it. This is my first Toyota (was a Ford lover). I bought as a second car due to my 2001 Expedition having 345k miles on the original large V8(yes I know they are not supposed to last that long, mine didn’t get the memo). As much as I loved my Ford. I want to drive my Avalon all the time. I don’t even want to be passenger princess anymore! She is a dream to drive and am completely happy with my purchase except for a 12 yr old its purchase price was a bit pricey around here and I got her for 14k out the door. 😊 which was a little below average on the price. As you can see with my Ford if you take care of the maintenance they can last. So I have a feeling that she will last too.
Literally bought one for 14k with 90k as well. same year too, great purchase!!
@@ilyasabirov7224 I agree with you 😊
It is reported as an insurance claims.
Damn wheel is so sexy!
Would love a cabin video of highway driving
I have an 04 Lexus RX 330 made in Japan with 175K miles, I have replace a timing belt, water pump, camshaft bearings seals, new pulleys, thermostat, transmission flush, transmission filter, spark plugs. Maintenance is key to get 500,000 miles out of these cars. When changing the oil always, always use a Toyota oil filter. The only thing I don’t like about these 3.3 L is that they are “Interference Engine”, meaning if the timing belt breaks, you’re most likely going to have to replace the engine, unlike the 3.5 L that come with a timing chain. I know Lexus recommend changing the timing belt every 90,000 miles, I would recommend using OEM parts, you do not want to use cheap Chinese parts. I have read online some people driving 300K miles without changing the timing belt on these engines, but take that with a grain of salt. Maintenance is key.
Or you can long hold the lock button and any left slightly opened window will be rolled back up properly including the back window. Also if you press and long have the unlock button it will roll down all the windows.
4Runner.... one of the greatest vehicles ever made. Im looking for one at the moment 4x4 with the V8.
Use to have a 06 Toyota Camry LE had it for 10 years until my Older Son took it without telling me I was at work and crashed it going to Fullerton to meet his Cousin
Couldn’t even tell bro was revving at first
3000 more like 5 to 6 grand in South East unless trashed
I have two war mine tanks
That car is clean!
