Thank you SO MUCH for posting!!! I related heavily to Miya and appreciate her testimony. I haven’t gotten a diagnosis yet, but I’ve been looking into autism and adhd for a while now, and I’ve been wondering how this would interplay with my faith. I also feel into legalism and hyper-Calvinism on my journey, and I’ve been in a healing season from all the pressure and torment I went through. Wondering if it’s not autistic burn-out from masking and striving to be a “perfect Christian.” I also gave up on all my favorite hobbies and interests and I think that contributed to the deep depression I was in. I appreciate this so much and hope to do more content like this. Thank you again!

Part of it is also the nature of our attention spans decreasing. I feel like I used to have way more concentration ability, and as an adult in my late 20s and older ( started around the time smart phones and social Media became popular) it has shrunk tremendously

As an audhd person who struggles with long videos, thankyou for putting up the Chapter list. Super helpful And it's surprising to see someone with my same diagnosis but from a totally different culture talking about these things in a very familiar way. Hopefully that means that awareness and understanding of these conditions is growing around the world. ✌️

I’m not autistic but I can relate a lot, specifically in the part were it’s a battle in my mind all the time about what is expected from me and who I am or what life have set up me to be, and trying to be perfect because that is what is expected by everyone, now I’m trying to rest in the Grace of Christ because that’s the reason why He sacrificed for me, because he knew I was not going to be perfect… ✝️✝️✝️

I am been diagnosed officially with ADHD and ASD. My doctors have been unhelpful, obstructive, angry, denying me of any ADHD meds because apparently the Government won’t allow us to have them because they are too expensive. I am stupefied by their cruelty. How many other issues are they not helping people with? There are good doctors, bad doctors and selfish governments.

There is so much guilt and shame…. Especially when we grew up not diagnosed or others not officially knowing our neurotype is different Gaslit. Like judged when misunderstood. And yes…. Because of drive or special onterests… it’s hard to make anything important and when we don’t succeed we worry that our interestzmayhavebecome idolatry…but then we want to put him first and lose all interest in everything -Ie become depressed Wow what you just said- you can’t sing worship songs and read Bible all day. Even if you want to, it’s healthy to make yourself go out be with friends etc It’s really confusing being a believer and understand g it while integrating into other Christian culture On my own, it seemed like Holy Apirit was Anyways. Thank you

I don’t know if there’s a group or we can talk, especially if we’re not diagnosed yet, but I’ve been going through hell most of my life, especially when I burnt down and can’t mask anymore and tried everything and basically I guess I have believers, but I hate to say that they’re black. The ones are the most passionate are from other cultures and I wanna believe them that God is everything and there’s no such thing as illness or autism with this or that but at the same time they haven’t lived in my body with my life and the truth is, I know cause I’ve lived and it starts a spiritual dilemma now that I’ve talked to you know I’ve given I’ve gotten exhausted with the medical system a little bit and like I’m going to the Lord, but at the same time prevent so many things it gets a little confusing. I really wanna talk to people because I’m 50 and my parents are getting older and I feel guilty and I really need to straighten out my thoughts and my actions and my job and my life and all of this and it’s nothing truly that only medication or even therapy is gonna do like, so I’ve stopped the therapy because it’s it started to get harmful for someone. I mean they’re giving you Neurotypical therapy and you’re getting traumatized because they think you’re not listening you know and you even wonder if you’re doing this I mean seriously

I can relate so well to so much of Miya's story, especially the self loathing for not being able to perform well enough and not being "spiritual" enough. I've been a Christian for almost 40 years and a missionary for almost 30 years, and still struggle. I'm not officially diagnosed (yet), but realized only a year ago that I'm probably autistic, after decades of struggling. I'm still trying to find out how to live as an autistic christian missionary... ;-)

I'm AuDHD and I'm a follower of Christ. I struggle with the wrong teachings of the church, however I got to a point in my life where I said, this is me get over it. So I too love Anime, shows and music that is supposedly not Christian... I will tell them I watched "Lucifer" and liked the show. I tell them this, I know that is fiction, I know who Satan really is. I also listen to music I was told was of the devil. Metallica, Iron Maiden etc. I was like wow really.. Metallica Creeping Death straight from the bible. It's about Moses and Israel was saved from Egypt and the Passover etc. Then Iron Maiden I learned about Alexander the Great and other things. Just because it's Heavy Metal, don't make it of Satan. I've been lucky that the Lord has been with me all my life and taught me through a hand full of dreams he gave me and also speaking to me through the holy spirit. I struggled with my Salvation because the Church seems to teach, saved by grace through faith, but then they start teaching you the law. The Lord showed me that it was truly Finished on the cross. I no longer have to fear my salvation because I put my trust in him and in his completed work on the cross. We are still in the flesh and will still sin until we get our glorified bodies. I come before Christ as a broken sinner and say I believe what you say and that in you I am saved. I'm glad I found you to be honest. Other Autistics who have talked about Faith basically say it's nonsense. One guy we as far as to say well we all know Evolution is proven or something. I was like Evolution is another faith. You have faith in something that has not been proven. I hope to see more people like us you have strong Faith in Christ. :)
