Virtual knob-twiddler, I try to make ambient and electronic music using just an iPad or iPhone.
A reconciliation
This is a sort of cinematic koala sampler song. It has a few more notes and chords than usual ;)

Simple thing done in koala sample using 3 samples taken from ridgeway walk. Kind of power ambient. Or just plain drone.

Lo-fi ambient tape loop, consisting of several non synchronised loops, all done in Koala sampler by @elfaudio. Koala sampler is the best, the easiest to use and the most soulful instrument on iOS and android.

Made this ambient piano loop thing, with our new puppy, Rose, asleep on my lap. The whole thing is done completely in koala sampler. She is still asleep while I write this and upload the video. Probably the best way to spend a Sunday.
A tightening, a loosening.

Drone thing recorded live in Aum on my iPad. Glitchy video was made with cathodemer and Riveo. Heavy use of noinputmixer and noises. Stop the war
A taste of metal. An improvised drone using no input mixing techniques

This is a live improvised piece I did using 2 instances of @zzzwiw‘s noinputmixer hosted in aum by @Kymatica and running through various effects in Drambo by @BeepStreetAudio. I find no inputmixer to be incredibly inspiring and evocative, even if the emotions it evokes are not always the most positive
A sort of movement - experimental ipad drone. Featuring “Allures” by Jordan Belson.

I made this experimental song in AUM on my iPad, using only Plugins made @audiothing and @hainbach. Almost all plugins are collaborations of theirs, I did use a reverb plug in that I don’t think Hainbach was involved in, but yeah, all the apps were by Audiothing and all but one by Audiothing and Hainbach. I’m not gonna list em, but they are all great. The video is some amazing abstract animatio...

Drone piece made with noinputmixer by @zzzwiw, lines by @audiothing and @Hainbach, K7D by @ImaginandoPt and rymdigare by @humbletune. All hosted in the incomparable aum by @Kymatica. We must stand up to indiscriminate violence. We must not forget our humanity. We must never allow the crimes of the past to be committed again.

I’ve had this sitting on my iPad not doing anything for a few weeks. I thought it best just to “finish” it and upload it and get it out of my system. Apps used: Noises, Rymdigare, Ripplemaker, Ivcs3, Wires, Gauss and Aum. I feel it’s a bit cheesey or busy or whatever, but still I like it somewhat.

A sleepy drone made with just 3 apps: fundamental, lunar lander and AUM to host it. It’s a bit influenced by Elaine Radigue, and hainbach and basinski and eno and, well everything and every one. It’s trying to be a bit more optimistic than my last one. It’s very ambient and very minimal.

This is a drone/noise thing made in koala sampler on my iPad. The video is that infamous shell one where they knew they were screwing the world back in the early 90s. It’s a hopeless situation.
But I saw them - ambient music made on iPad

I made this hiding from the heatwave of July 2023. It’s an ambient drone track made on my iPad mini. I made it with koala sampler, gauss, noises, rymdigare and AUM. It’s not much but it’s mine. For everyone feeling untoward at the moment.

@@sevenape subscribed! I'm happy to continue listening and explore your work. Thank you for making it!
Sublime buddy,...I could listen to this for hours.
@@andrewshannon544 thanks so much Andy it means a lot!!! :))
Haunting, deep, complex. Honestly mate. Loving each and everything you post. Your videos inspired me to post a few things on my channel. Thank you. 🖤
Thank you so so much! I’m really glad you like em
Lovely!
Thank you!!
“Babe, get to sleep, sevenape posted!” 😉 It’s absolutely beautiful!
Thank you!!! You are far too kind!! Just trying to stay cool and drift off myself!
Very interesting approach. Really enjoyed and learned stuff. Thanks mate ❤
Glad it was helpful!! Thank you for watching!!!
Blimey… a heck of a journey… great work 🙏
Thank you so much for listening!!!
You are a musician if you make music.
love ur tutorials
Thank you!!
Fantastic ad for Ridgewalk. I love the slow majestic ascent into sonic chaos.
Thanks so much!! As ever, I'm particulary humbled that you enjoy my stuff :))
Great work. I think Ridgewalk has broken some new ground for granular looping. I keep wanting to call it Ridgway: the lovely walking route in the Chilterns in England!
Thank you! I agree about ridgewalk, it’s a special little app, and I know the ridgeway quite well! As a wayward youth growing up in Berkshire, I’ve been to a few raves up on the chilterns!!!! I haven’t been in over 20 years, but it’s a beautiful part of the world! Ridgeway would be an even better name :))))
15:34 is NOT a Short Video.
It kinda is considering…. Our lives are but fleeting shadows lost in the vastness of time
Delicious, infinite. The last part is an awesome use of koala distortion.
Thank you so much Pietro xxx
Love it, keep the sounds coming like this
Thank you! I will do!
Another cracking track and video mate!
@@LockwoodAmbient thank you for listening!!!!!!
Just found this after coming here for koalasampler tips. Nice track!
Thank you!!!!!
Is the Bram Bos you mentioned the same Bram Bos who made Hammerhead? Because he's made loads of awesome iPad apps too!
The resampling notes with the keyboard tip is huge for me. I find I always have to tune melodic elements then have to bounce copy and do the next note with lock to semitone enabled. Huge
@@diedforurwins glad it helped ❤️
Awesome video. Thx!
Thanks for watching hope it can be some help :)
Once again mate. Just stunning. Lovely stuff. Got lost in that one.
This is beautiful.
Thank you so much for listening!!
Great use of Koala. This reminds me of Hans Joachim Roedelius for some reason.
That’s high praise indeed!!! Thank you!
🙏
Sorry, whats the other app you use where you add the tap delay? I mean, whats your apps and hardware setting?? Im trying to find out how to use my ipad for sound with mic and headphones, but im still in process, so your little advices would be huge. Thank you!!!
No worries, it's an app called AUM. It's a host mixer app that lets you host several instruments (And mic) and effects and mix and record them all. Tap delay is a separate app that I bought, but there are many different tape effect apps, one very good free one is called CHOWtape. Basically AUM uses a protocol called AUV3 and any app that supports this protocol can be loaded into AUM. @gavinski did a really good video on AUM here: ua-cam.com/video/lHMFYZy-VP0/v-deo.html Having said all that, the latest update to koala now has a built-in mixer in which you can use some built-in effects, it's pretty easy to get a tape sound, I'll do a video very soon about that. :)
Woahhh…!!!
You really nail these.
Mesmerizing drone. And love the video thing, looks like kinda AI enanched morphing, like superslow speed (capcut maybe?). Down the rabbit hole.
Thank you so much for your kind words!! The video... I think yes its AI enhanced, but I don't know which, its all done inside the Riveo app using stock footage that they supply, I was impressed by the smoothness of the slowmo
This is the type of stuff I'm trying to get back to producing.
The new "mixer" update makes koala even better for this kind of stuff!
@@sevenape Yeah I got it quite a while ago. its pretty cool!
@@sevenape Its also great with Loopy Pro.
Excellent work… great use of the video as well 👍
Thank you Tony!!!!!!!!!
lovely track!

Thank you xx
That confetti is sending me to a forgotten dimension - nice video
Thank you!!!
I love your work! please make more koala tutorials
Deep and progressive as usual, love it.
Thank you so much, PIetro!! Have a lovely weekend!!
I love Koala and love when someone does something outside of the hiphop slow beats - sounds great and i love the video too!
Thank you! I love Koala too! It’s so versatile, you can do any type of music with it!! And thanks for the comment about the video, it’s just something I threw together in the feee version of Riveo. It’s better than a static image I think :)
Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you for listening xxxx
Amazing work, excellent 👌
Thank you!!!xxxx
Kinda surprised you didn't use Gauss for its asynchronicity and lofi ness. Still its not about the tools but the result, which is beautiful.
thank you so so much!! You are right about gauss, but I dunno, koala is so intuitive for me now I just reach for that first.
This is insanly good. What kind of effects is used to get that tape loop Sound ?
Thanks so much for the really kind words! They are very much appreciated!! So all of this is done inside koala using the built in effects with the "mixer" upgrade. First I looped a tape hiss sample I got free from here: www.musicradar.com/news/tech/sampleradar-502-free-noise-hiss-and-crackle-samples-627134 Then in the master channel I put autopan with the stereo effect turned right down and the lfo set to a mild but fast random stepped lfo. This simulates the random drop outs you get in an old tape. Then after that I put the warble effect with simulates the wow and flutter. And that's it!! It's an easy thing to set up but it sounds pretty good to my ears!!
Absolutely beast 🤯🤯
Great stuff. Lovely work.🎧
Thank you for listening!!!
Ghostly whispers in the dark oak walls of Villa Straylight? Anyone? ofc nobody read books nowadays. Anyways Tessier-Ashpool is the richest family in the cyberpunk novel; Neuromancer

@@sevenape Just finished reading it yesterday. Second try. What a master piece. Thanks for your great music Sevenape.
Your self effacing style is completely relatable to me and I have immediately subscribed. It’s cool to see these kinds of workflow walkthroughs and yours was entirely informative. Thanks for helping me see what else Koala Sampler could be good for, I had been experimenting with making synths out of samples but have always wanted to try making ambient music and this gave me tons of ideas to get going with experimenting on my own.
Thank you so so much for the kind words and for watching! I’m super happy to somehow have been useful! My aim is to make another more up to date video concerning the mixer section and stuff like that! As soon as I get some free time I’ll do it! Thanks again!!!
Hell yeah. Both your message and your output are inspiring, brilliant. And in the process we get some killer app recommendations. The no input mixer seems to be capable of some truly harrowing music.
Thanks so much for listening! NoInputmixer is amazing, it's my favourite App by far. If you have it or get it let me know and I'll share my presets! :)
@@sevenapeI just got it today😭 put it off for this long because of the price, but this video pushed me over the edge. Worth it. Thanks man. Also that’s so cool to offer your presets, I’d use them in a heartbeat
I’ve already saved a bunch of presets so once I hit on some truly killer ones I can share mine
I just realized that on top of everything else, what really resonated with me is the cinematic nature of the video with the music. They go perfectly together.
@@mushmush5509 thanks so much for your kind words!! I would love to hear your presets when you are happy to share them… here are m8ne, hope you find something useful in them :) drive.google.com/file/d/14AS6ajcPdV7zD5n_w6-5k4XEt5GZq7CA/view?usp=sharing
Hey man, Ive been producing for almost a decade and come by this video while researching if I should get Koala Sampler for IOS or Android, but this video presented something else. Unexpected and fantastic, and I really glad that I watched it. Thanks for this! :)
Thanks so much for watching. Koala has changed a lot since I made the video making sound design much easier, but the basics are still the same!! Thank you!!!!!!
Nice!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
