Is Lobster Village worth visiting in Mexico?
Locals avoid Temple Bar. Like the plague. Full of tourists and overpriced food and drink. Ah yeah, but the Palace Bar is one of the better ones in Temple Bar. But, I would have walked 5 minutes to The Gingerman instead.
Wow, Gingerman looks fun! I see they're decked out for Christmas now! aaaaw ❄️🎅 thank you, i'm gonna save it in my google maps
I’ve watched a handful of your videos over the past month. You are doing a fantastic job. This is excellent. I hope thousands of people discover your channel. You deserve it.
Wow, thank you so much! It really means a lot and your support truly keeps me motivated. I hope the channel continues to grow and reach more people, and comments like yours make it all worthwhile. Thanks for being part of this journey! 😍😍😍
It looks like you guys had a great time. ❤
It's hard not to enjoy Mexico, isn't it? 😉
❤ love it! Next time hit us up!!!
Hi, how have you been??!!!! Good to hear from you! Def will hit u up next time! ❤️
ola momasita love at first sight i wanns be your poppychulo and take you to the boarder for salsa and tacos with hot sauce whoo we
I suppose that, in view of overtourism, one must develop different skills. it's difficult to avoid restaurants for tourists in the centre. sometimes (in Lisbon also) it takes only a few minutes walk from more crowded areas to reach more "local" places and, cheaper places. on the other hand, cheaper place does not always mean better food. just keep trying, even if you seem to keep to very touristic areas.
very true! lisbon is like a maze where you won't know which ones are which, u might stumble upon a tourist trap or a few feet away, might find a hidden gem! do you wanna spill the beans on some local favorites? 🥹
Late to the party here, but your question about Beef steak and mince rarity is exactly what you thought! Steak can be ordered however you like, however, food safety standards indicate that ground mince meat should always be cooked through. Eating even a medium burger can have serious risks, but Bunsen seem to be doing it right.
That's great, thank you! Would you recommend any other burger chains? It seemed like locals really enjoy foreign cuisines, what would be your favorite?
€9.90 for a pint of Guinness. You people have no idea your being robbed.. 30 min walk from temple bar. You can get a pint for €5.30. That’s were the locals drink.. not in templebar
Nice! Which bars would you recommend to go for? or walk north, south, east, west? 😅 divey as much as possible, plz?
That stuck tram was wild
You can get steak cooked any way you want here. Ground beef needs to be cooked more than rare
That's great to know! So, when it comes to steak, which temperature do the locals prefer? Med rare or more med or well done?
@ Can’t speak for everyone, but I like it medium-rare. A lot of my friends and family like it medium. Next time you’re here check out Tomahawk steakhouse in Templebar
wow, Tomahawk looks exquisite! Thank you!
If you liked the food in Lisbon, just wait till you go visit the rest of the country
Actually, can't wait 😛! Lisbon was amazing, so I can’t wait to explore more of Portugal and try all the local dishes. Any recommendations on where to go next? I was thinking, Porto?
Good to know i live hwre sonce 2 years and some of the locals restaurant i didnt know yet thx
Glad I could help! And please share if you find more cool spots along the way!
From what I could understand in the very-common-tram-incident the black man (from the van crew?) is saying there was nothing he could do because there was another car in front blocking him (sounds like rubish, there's always someone blocking the tracks because they're either lazy or crappy drivers). Can't make out the other voices but they're saying he can't park there. It's very common and one of the reasons you sometimes wait 20 minutes for a tram and then see 3 of them at once. As to the Time Out Market, sure, if it's your thing try it out but I've been there maybe twice and it's not for me. Local guy with local wages and just want to say if you're a tourist and can afford to spend more, I have no problem with that, good for you and those businesses. Thank you for clarifying about "tapas" (a spanish word). Will NEVER, EVER enter a place with "tapas" in it's name or menu. I honestly hate that they do that. I can understand if it's a spanish food restaurant but that's rarely the case, it's just a tourist bird-call. "Petiscos" is the way to go, as you say. So, bacalhau. We used to have a numerous fishing navy and bacalhau was actually a very affordable and common fish that because it was salted for conservation could easily be distributed to the interior of the country. Also, most recipes are actually very easy and quick to make. Bacalhau à Brás I do every week and takes maybe 20 minutes to make, including preparation. "Pastel OF nata"... My God!... Best description for Ginjinha (after we've had a pastel de nata) I've had so far is "The perfect breakfast!". Best time to go to the top of the Arco da Rua Augusta, in my opinion, is December when they put the Christmas Tree in that square. If you're still in Lisbon try the restaurant Cana Verde in Alfama and let me know what you think. Loved the video and enjoyed following along. Always welcome!
INSIGHT right here. Love it
Wow, thank you for taking the time, explaining all the intricacies! I found them so fascinating! For the tram, do the drivers get fined for parking that way? Or get towed or is it not really enforced? I can't imagine what you guys, the locals go through when the tram gets stuck but you're in a hurry w a bunch of tourists taking photos! 😅 What's your preferred mode of transport these days? One of my highlights of the trip was all these delicious petiscos in tascas and now that I'm on this restrictive diet (health concern), I'm even more appreciative of them! Fresh, quality ingredients without additives and how you guys work with it was so mind-blowing! Like you make 20 minutes for bacalhau? Wow! Will store bought matchstick fries help? At this point, cod must be in you guys' blood! 😛 I came back and made my version, I was in the kitchen for at least an hour! How do you do it? Oh My God! Pastel de nata & Ginjinha does sound like a Perfect Breakfast! I found 1 portuguese store 20 miles away from home, I can't wait to go there! Aaaw, it must be magical there right now, with the Christmas tree in the placa. Definitely will be back, thank you for all your recommendations and Cana Verde in Alfama! I visited Lisbon in spring, do you think fall would be a great time to visit next?
Hey Mel
Hi!!! How you've been?
@MelMashbat Great so so good to see you again. How do you like Portugal? Try to go to the Azores especially Terceira. Miss ya
So good to hear from you, too! I loved the people, fresh, quality, food, definitely could see why you kept telling me to go to Portugal! 😝 I really wanted to go to Azores but the logistics didn't work out then but it's still in the top of my head! 🤗
@@MelMashbat EXCELLENT so so glad you liked it. So put on your list the Azores and Madeira I'm pretty sure you will love it. Where are you off to next? Cant wait till your next vid. Stay safe have fun. God Bless.
Wow, Terceira & Madeira look like a dream! are the waters great for snorkeling there? Right now i'm home, in L.A, working on Madrid videos, loooved it there as well, can't wait to tell ya 😊
The best thing to do when visiting Dublin is to get out of there.
Fair point! Dublin can be busy, and there's so much to see outside the city. Any recommendations for local spots except the Cliffs of Moher?
😂😂😂😂
💁🏻?
Everything is highly overrated there.
Yeah, it's a pain to find legit spots there! Have you found any hidden gems in Dublin that you'd recommend instead? plz share ☺️
What about the luggage? I’m traveling with my family we are carrying 4 23kg suitcases and 1 carry on
Great question! They state that all customers can bring on board a maximum of ONE Small bag OR Holdall and ONE Medium suitcase (63 x 41 x 27cm). Golf clubs, sports equipment, musical instruments, and sports items that exceed the specified luggage dimensions are not allowed onboard". Pushchairs and prams are ok but should be collapsed. Safe travels with your family!
3:30 Menudo is the perfect hangover cure 👌
Totally agree! Menudo is the ultimate comfort food when you're feeling rough. 😅 What's your favorite way to enjoy it?
I really don't get youtube. Excellent video, excellent editing, kept me watching till the end, I thought surely this person has a few hundred thousand subs. Makes no sense, you should be huge. Thanks for the video, been a few years since I lived in Dublin but I loved Pickle, such a good distillation of what's great about Indian food. Good Mexican food outside the Americas is tough, I used to work in London and my American colleagues there told me there was maybe 2 good Mexican restaurants there.
Yeah, I, too, don't get UA-cam 😅 but hearing comments like yours really gives me hope that quality content will be appreciated sometime in the future 😬 in the meantime, let's keep eating and sharing secrets! I see you sail a lot! Would you have recommendations for Lisbon, Portugal as for places to eat? I'm editing a video right now about Lisbon local favorites

🌿🕊🌿🕊🌿🌿👍👍👍👍❤
😍
Great video! The ingredients here in Dublin speak for themselves, all beef is grass fed obvs, eggs, dairy, bread, fish, so its the simple dishes that speak the loudest. Also hate masa hah. Terrible
Exactly! The simple and fresh ingredients spoke for themselves, I got on this new diet focusing solely on natural ingredients and oh how much I wish I was in Dublin right now 😅
Temple bar, started out as the place where free thinkers, artisans and artists took residence, because the rents were cheap in a place where it was earmarked to be demolished to build a bus station. it became so popular that the developers moved in, and all those free thinkers, and artists were forced out, the last of them recently with the closure of the Icon factory and the Icon walk, to make way for yet another fast food takeaway. money speaks louder than art, especially here in Dublin where i live. Oh, by the way, Burdocks fish and chips, yeah another tourist trap, no better or worse than most take aways in Dublin. when my mother bought her fish and chips there in the 1940s/50s and 60s, its was beef fat over a coal fired fryer, now its vegetable il like anywhere else. it certainly not worth a visit, certainly not worth their inflated prices!
Thank you! The way you told its history literally made me visualize it back in the days so much better than any guides out there! Would you share any recommendations as to where to eat, with unpretentious good food in Dublin?
@@MelMashbat I am not the one to ask for those little secrets that are known to the locals. im not one to eat out, i cannot afford to. in fact, i never go anywhere these days, as im a life long loner indulging instead in my art and hobbies. sorry i couldnt help.
oh no, no worries, prices have been increasing like crazy and when it comes to eating out - almost impossible nowadays! been cooking a lot lately and got this a new found respect for simply prepared meals 😋
Delicious 🤤🤤🤤
So good!
Can you send me the adress for this resturant?
Hi there! Are u referring to the last one in the video? Then it's Pepper Parlor in Shibuya, Tokyo. Here's the google maps link - maps.app.goo.gl/3ed8vUjDjCfpfeYZ8. R u going there soon?
@@MelMashbat Thanks!
many more better taco spots
yeah, it's a shame though the staff was very warm and friendly, decor was nice, but food was on a bland side
Hello from a fellow girlie who also loves Guinness!
Yeeey! After this trip though, I feel like I avoid drinking Guinness outside of Ireland cuz after tasting how good it is, nothing compares to it anymore
Nice vid substance over form.
Appreciate you sooo much!
Awsome
u r awesome :-p
Town in general is a tourist trap, there's nothing Irish about town anymore and 'locals' aren't local.
really, would you say there are more transplants rather than locals in Dublin?
@@MelMashbat in some areas of the north inner city are majority foreign yeah sadly. If you had of come to Ireland 15 20 years ago you would have seen a whole other city. I used to fall around drunk with my friends singing and having great craic, couldn't do that as much now
Thanks for sharing your perspective! It’s always interesting to hear how cities evolve over time, especially from those who’ve seen it firsthand. Dublin still has a vibrant spirit, though! Have you found any spots where the old-school craic is still alive? Also, am I understanding "craig" correctly? (good, fun times?)
Yes!
Santa barbara cali or Santa Barbara Portugal
mad useful. good shit
Didn't know Santa Barbara turns up like that
me, too, been there so many times but hasn't seen that side before
Northenr ireland is ireland
Best Brekky ever is at Lovinspoon in Dublin. Get the Regular and an Americano... you will come back the next morning for the same God willing.
Google mapsed it, saved it in seconds. thank you so much! looks like a legit local spot
At home
Great video!
Thank you, sir! ;-)
Burdocks is a great place, with a deserved reputation... if talking Christchurch. The one in Temple Bar is a travesty. Dunno how to sugarcoat to be polite, but their Temple Bar place is only there to scam tourists with shite that a cat would refuse. Oddly enough, I love my Guinness, and have worked there in St James Gate, but never did the Storehouse tour.
Yeah, I was wondering how these warm and kind people with great smiles can serve such dry fish without taste. I'm not one to be blunt but I really was looking forward for fish n chips lol
I'm from Dublin, and can confirm that the Temple Bar area is utter garbage that is mostly purely overpriced tourist scam. There are a few decent places in that area, like Seafood Café , but for most things, there are much better places within a 5 minute walk. There's also a lot of places that trade on the decent brand they've built up in other locations that open a place there and serve shite. (Burdocks) Have eaten in most of the places shown, but the one that stands out that I haven't, is ? The Pickle. I need to visit it.
The food at Pickle was mouthwatering and fragrant, overall a nice experience, the only thing to warn you about though is the server keeps bugging you if you want any more dishes to up his sale. Me and my husband just ordered 2 items but he kept insisting to get one more entree etc. Anyways, please share your wisdom on any other good places! If direct flights to Dublin go on sale, I'll be more than happy to hit ur recommended spots
@@MelMashbat I have a particular response to servers (or sales people in general) 'thanks for taking my order, if I need anything else I'll let you know'.
You actually did the side of Ensenada everyone sees.
Temple bar is the worst street in Ireland.
which neighborhoods should we explore next, do dubliners gatekeep the good ones? 😂
Kip
What's a "kip"?
Only local people would know
Our bus driver last week in Dublin said to avoid the area. Only liked the Thunder Road Cafe for a rack of ribs many years ago.
their ribs look good, maybe i'll check it out next time. which areas did you like best in Dublin?
Horrible city.Expensive dirty dangerous kip
This word again, "kip", what does it mean? Which city would be a better alternative to Dublin, in ur opinion?
Thank fk she went to the palace bar. Eh an Irish breakfast doesn't do beans that's an inglese breakfast 🤔
it seems that palace bar has quite a reputation for locals, plz tell me what it is it? and as for breakfast, do Irish order their breakfast without the beans?
Hi, I'm a tour guide from Dublin, nice videos! The Brazen Head is not the oldest pub in Ireland, even though it's painted outside. 😂 'Sean's Bar' in Athlone, 120km from Dublin was radio carbon dated to 900 AD.
Awesome thank you! Yeah why would they claim it as such?! (to draw in tourists, perhaps) mmm, interesting. wow, thanks to u just found out Sean's Bar is in the Guinness World Records as the oldest one 😉
@MelMashbat Indeed it is! I really like your videos. Keep it up! 💚🇮🇪
I've just been to both. The brazen head had great food as well. Sean's is just drinks. Both were awesome
So pretty!
The recommendations you got were right on the money you literally just went to all my favourite restaurants in Dublin
Aw thank you! I'm so so glad, plz share your other favorites as well ❤️
