Hi Sandra, I’m not sure how I stumbled on to your channel, but so glad I did as I appreciated listening to your perspective on this controversial incident… I agree on the school being remiss/irresponsible and not taking care of these students to better prevent what happened- and also, with how maddening & sad it is that judgement is instead appropriated to the females involved. Something perpetuated since Adam & Eve, right? …And you’re so right about us all growing to become our own unique individuals… with the ability to go either way despite parental influences. I love the beautiful look you created while sharing! I hadn’t heard of this incident, but I totally agree with what you’ve stated here. And if abuse has happened to this young girl, there’s no way that it’s guaranteed the mom would know. One of my lifelong best friends has a mother who was sexually abused by her stepfather until she left home at 18. She coped by mentally separating what was happening to her physically. She blocked all of those traumatic experiences until it came out later in her adult life in counseling for mental illness. Through that process, she discovered that her siblings had also endured similar abuse at the hands of their stepfather. My friend (her son) also had bouts with depression & later on with substance abuse, & through counseling for his addiction issues, it came out that he also had suffered sexual abuse, & he thinks it was from one of the abused siblings (he also used mental suppression as a coping mechanism just as his mom had done). There are definitely generational repercussions when this happens in families, & as you mentioned, each individual copes differently. I honestly don’t think anyone but the victims knew in my friend’s family, although I also realize that in prior generations, women didn’t always have options about simply picking up & leaving abusive situations (job options limited, lack of support, etc.). On the total opposite end of the spectrum, I served many years ago on a Federal Grand Jury case where a mother was in complete denial & refused to face solid facts about what her boyfriend was doing in taking inappropriate sexualized photographs of her young daughter & her daughter’s friend when the mom wasn’t around. When faced with facts, she refused to cooperate in the investigation of her boyfriend through simply verifying her daughter’s age of when the abuse allegedly occurred through looking at other normal photos taken around the same time, as statutes are more harsh against the perpetrator the younger the child’s age. It was infuriating & heartbreaking all at the same time to see this woman put her boyfriend above her own flesh & blood.😡💔 (The court eventually had to subpoena the child’s uncle to verify her age regarding the time the abuse occurred.) In the case of the young girl in Dubai…We also tend to forget how easily it is for children to be exposed to pornography online these days which can influence their knowledge of sexual behavior early & in the most perverse of ways. There were issues with our nephew (who lives in another country) struggling with this when he was in his early teens. We discovered he was using our WiFi to view it when he’d come to visit us. My husband quickly nipped that in the bud & made it clear that it would not be tolerated (& he consistently followed up & checked). There’s so much more evil that is waiting for opportunity to destroy our children in this day & age for sure, & it’s ultimately their choice regarding the path they take in life (even if influenced by other things). I absolutely love your outfit , sis! I have always loved these dresses , their patterns , designs and head scarves ... if I'm being honest , I would love to be able to wear one but I don't want anyone to think I'm trying to be disrespectful ... you look amazing and I absolutely love this eyeshadow look ... when it comes to this case , I really hope that the mother really had no clue , but with all he put her through I don't know how she couldn't have known this outcome was in the realm of possibility . If it were me , I'd have hidden my daughters far away from him and went back and made him think they were coming with me . Then I would have let him throw a fit and face his wrath so I could call the police and have him locked up ... maybe he'd have killed me but he would be in hiding for that instead of looking for the girls ... or maybe I'd have just shot him but either way he'd never have gotten my daughters through my actions ...so sad...I really hope that the people who were in the girls lives are doing well ....
