Jean Michel Jarre in Milan
On June 20th 2024, JM Jarre held a lecture/speech/Q&A in Milan, but unfortunately the live stream was incomplete. There are currently two videos from that stream on YT, and they are both a little different. To get the "least incomplete version" I merged the two recordings into one. What type of music is this?
good norwegian ballade
It has some norwegian folk-ish vibes. I realize this is a year later, but if you never checked it out, the theme music for "Flåklypa Grand Prix" has a lot of the same vibe. Not just from the instrument, as harmonica is one of a few typical instruments in norwegian "folk" music traditions, along with the accordion, the fiddle, and acoustic nylon guitar. But the melodies also feel innately norwegian for some reason. Maybe just because I grew up with them. I don't know enough music theory to point a finger to any pattern but following is a link to the flyåklypa theme I'm talking about. Just listen to the melody and you'll hear what I mean, they feel the same. Kind of optimistically hopeful, kind of melancholic at the same time.
