せんせい please make a video of Minna no nihongo lesson 41 , so confusing for me
誕生日に夫は私に花束をもらいました。or 誕生日に私は夫に花束をくれました。 is there a nuance difference between もらうand くれる especially if referring to receiving something for yourself?
Thank you for watching! I will correct the phrases a bit before explaining. 誕生日に私は夫に花束をもらいました / 誕生日に夫は私に花束をくれました are the 2 correct phrases. You need to switch the verbs of the 2 phrases in your comment! (^^) This is my impression, but while もらう could simply mean "recieve", くれる sounds a bit more like I haven't ask for the flowers but my husband gifted them to me, and I am thankful for the gift. Of course もらう still shows the thankfulness, but くれる has a nuance that my husband did something special for me. The level of thankfulness is a bit higher for くれる in my opinion. This is what I think, and could differ to each person, but I think it sounds more polite and sounds like you are showing that you are thankful when you use くれる.
こんにちは, I would say sentence nr 5 is correct, but I'm not sure... For these explanations ありがとうございます先生😊
こんにちは!Thank you for watching the video! Question number 5 is to answer to the question, not to find if it is correct or not (^^) I am sorry that I was not clearn enough about that in the video! 誕生日に誰に何をもらいましたか?(tanjoubi ni dare ni, nani wo moraimashitaka?)
@little-kokoro Oh, sorry 😅. I'll give it a try : 私は誕生日に夫にフリーレンのフィギュアをもらいました。😃
Great! Perfect phrase! いいですね。フリーレンのアニメをみたことがありませんが、みたいです😊
@@little-kokoro ありがとうございます😊. I've read the manga from Frieren (with all the collector editions) in French, but I haven't watched the anime yet. I love the manga and really recommend it or the anime to you🥰
Thanks a lot
Thank you for watching! 🎀
1 日本語を勉強します 2 日本語を学びます 3 テ二スを習います 4母からを料理こと習います think the English saying would i got taught cooking from my mother were it would be 母に料理を教わります 5ス―キを習います 6ピアを習います 7 is correct i answered them before the time ran out i like your videos ありがとうございますリカ先生です
Thank you for watching! 1. Correct 2. Correct 3. Correct 4. 母に料理を習います is correct too! The English isn’t a literal / direct translation which could have been confusing! I apologize for that! 母に料理を教わります is more natural when you focus on receiving the action (learning) from another person. 5. スキー 6. ピアノ Good job!! ありがとうございます✨✨
@@little-kokoro ありがとうございます i was probably overthinking question 4 sorry great video you are helping my Japanese
No problem at all! Great job!✨✨
Very helpful but please use with hiragana kanji, thankyou.
Thank you for watching! It’s part of my beginners lesson. It was a bit complex and I simply didn't have room to put everything! but I think the other videos has kanji/hiragana/ro-ma ji !
こんにちは !
こんにちは、みてくれてありがとうございます🎀
春に花が咲く時はすごくきれいだけど、葉とか花びらが雪みたいに散るのを見るのも同様に美しいと思うよ!
詩のような表現ですね✨🎀
Just WHY ?! 😭
Unfortunately it’s a big mystery😅
This is so helpful, thank you! Could you also use renshuu shimasu with guitar? Instead of to study it (in the sense that we study academics in order to practice for a test), since manabimasu is for learning academics, would renshuu be the application of practice to things that are naraimsu?
Thank you for watching my video! Yes, renshuu shimasu = practice “Gita- wo renshuu shimasu” is the best if you don’t learn it but practice by yourself. naraimasu has a bit of sense of learning something from someone or through books/applications etc…So, if you are playing guitar by yourself, renshuu shimasu (practice) or just hikimasu (play) is more natural.
@@little-kokoro oh, that helps me understand the difference a lot! Arigatou!
Is there another for 話す and います?!
Oh good idea, 話す (speak/talk) in more of a casual way is 喋る (talk)😌 for “there is”, います (for human/animal) あります (object) I’ll definitely make videos to talk about the differences👌🏻thank you for the ideas!
葉が赤にならります
Oh good guess! 赤 could become an adjective 赤い(aka i) so it is more natural to say 葉が赤くなります👌🏻 if you want to use 赤 as a noun, 葉が赤になります, but it’s not so common😊
Very beautiful content, please keep going!!🥹💗❤️
Thank you very much! I’m glad to hear that! I post Tuesday and Friday!😌
@@little-kokoro thank you for your amazing content💗💗🥰
Thank you very much! Please make more lessons like this one, they are really helpful for those who study on their own! I have a question. Which verb should we use with makeup? E.g. wear makeup, lipstick and so on?
Thank you very much for your words! I’m very happy to hear that! We often use 塗ります and つけます, but I’ll promise to make a video for those words in November or December 😌

Thank you for watching! I’m glad to hear that you are learning new things!😌mata ne!
Great video. Those words meaning comparisons are my favorit. I think "I think the shopping list" may sound a bit strange in english. I think that was "I think about the shopping list" 😁
Thank you for watching! Yes, a lot of the English translations are quite strange in my lectures, but I do it on purpose, because I want them to make sense but I try to stick to direct translations so that learners can understand which part is what in English 😌 I hope it doesn’t bother you too much👌🏻
@@little-kokoro No, of course not! I enjoy the lessons and the fact you are adding new ones every week.
Im glad to hear that! I’ll keep posting👌🏻✨
What about 書斎、学問、学習 and the endless words for "training"?
Thank you for the request! I’ll make a video to explain✨ it might take time, but please wait a bit😌
@@little-kokoro ありがとうございます
ありがとうございますリカ先生! I have a question. How long can a period of time be until we can no longer use it with 過ごします and must use 住みます?
質問(しつもん)ありがとうございます!Good question. This is a bit tricky, but if you can think of 過ごします as “spend” in English, it might be a bit easier to understand. When we talk about the past, “I spent several years in Japan” it is possible to say 日本で数年過ごしました, but this is because “several years in Japan” is considered a short time when you think about your whole life. When it is about the past, and it was just a little moment of your life, even if it’s more than a year, we will use this verb. However, in general, 過ごします is used when you travel for days/weeks or months. When we talk about the future, (this really differs to each person, but) I probably wouldn’t use this verb after more than a year. I hope my answers helped!
@@little-kokoro Thank you for such a helpful and detailed answer, now I understand🌼

@@little-kokoro Thank you, sensei! Looking forward to it!
This video was extremely helpful. The nuances of a language are very important and (I believe) are make or break in being understood. One simply cannot "map English" onto another language. This reminds me a bit of when I learned German and the difference between "I studied ..." and "I learned ..." a something or some topic is enormous. When speaking English one would say "I majored in...." to indicate one's major and Academic history, but in German one can say "I majored in ...", but more commonly one would say "I studied ..." to indicate one's major and Academic history. In German if one says "I studied ..." instead of "I learned ..." for additional things that were not one's major, the German speakers are quickly confused and even think you have lied about your major and Academic history. Thank you so much for this video and really if there are other such nuances in Japanese that differ from English or other languages, such instructional videos are extremely helpful and appreciated.
Thank you very much for watching my video😊 Yes, indeed, these tiny little things can change the impression a lot! You can find a playlist in my account “Similar Words”. The videos might help you understand the difference between other words that are similar too!👌🏻✨
