So the previous owner of the yellow cougar went through the effort to black out the tail light bars like on a real eleminator but then just ignored the front grille and left the front end with the base model look. Actually wait, the worst part about the yellow one is the standard driver mirror, just dont look right. Needs a sport mirror and a mirror added to the passenger side.

Me and my father had a deTomaso Pantera with a 4V Cleveland for years towards the end there we had the motor rebuilt with a stroker kit there was a 408 stroker kit which was as far as you can bore the until the Pistons will start swapping holes anyways are Cleveland had aluminum heads Pete Jackson gear drive so it sounded like a supercharger I mean this motor was a completely different animal when we put that motor back in the Panter that combined with the 411 gear ratio in the ZF transmission that thing was a rocket ship it pulled the front wheels off the ground the first time I got on it when we took it for a test drive with the new stroker kit me and my father had that car for 34 years It spent most of its life in the garage taking apart then put together running I do miss it quite a bit and there's things about it I do not miss I know the car is worth a lot but I think the best part of the whole thing is that Cleveland it's a cross between a small block that acts like a big hard to explain and another fact about that stroker kit is the connecting rods I think they were made by crowler they are the exact same specification size fitment that go into a 350 small block Chevrolet but the cool part about that stroker kit with the crank and you had to notch the bottom of the cylinder cuz when that thing spun around the connecting rod rotates and so far out that you have to notch the skirts I'll never forget those memories I know Cleveland's have had a bad rep over the years they didn't make a lot of parts for them back then but nowadays technology parts is a real game changer and the fact that the block is not very thick is another for con but if you had money and you got an Australian Cleveland or an SVO aluminum block but those are big big bucks do you have a pretty much a bulletproof motor

So maaco glues in a piece of metal in the quratet instead of "fabricating a piece" and welding it in. Sounds like you got a maaco paint job and its no better than the rivet job.

I had a 1969 cougar with a boss 302, 4 speed, that I purchased after I graduated from high school in 1974. It is still my favorite car.
