You mentioned Oklahoma may be cheaper on insurance, but that is rare. Our home insurance is one of the highest in the nation and our auto insurance is much higher than most states. That said, New Orleans and Houston are worse, as are some other areas, so it is possible. But OK insurance is quite expensive.

I think you missed a couple about Edmond. 1) Nice central park, 2) well planned community with wide sidewalks and boulevards, 3) lots of restaurants, 4) old town Edmond + UCO. 5) Public safety.

There are no decent paying jobs, no production other than farm, oil, and gas, and excessive taxation. It's a great place for someone who is wealthy and has income generating power that doesn't rely on having a job in Oklahoma. Other than that, it would be financial suicide to live here. Yes, things are cheap, but cheap things are only valued when you are able to generate income in sufficient quantities to make use of the cheapness exploit. The people here are resourceful, tough, but kind, you have to be to live in such a financial shthole that is Oklahoma.

Let's not forget the high property taxes! Limitied housing for lower income or the fact jobs are limited to entry level pay . If you are able bodied you can work in the oilfields. Also Healthcare is very expensive. Don't get sick or injured. Look into it for your self. If you hunt deer I hope you enjoy bow hunting! Rifle hunting is limited and the licenses are available but confusing and expensive! Fishing is not year round either! 😂! So do your research first! I would recommend you to go elsewhere! Leave Oklahoma alone with your outside ideas of politics! They are much like Texas and they don't even like them either! 😂😂😂😂❤ Red river rivals!
