I've heard that the old carrousel on navy pier got replaced due to it failing in the cold winter of 2019 I guess a part of it broke .

This Carmel carousels with its flamboyant horses, are very similar to the animals on many Charles ID Looff carousels!!! 👍🎠

When I used to ride in the late 60s early 70s I don't remember it being so enclosed. I could be misremembering, but it seems there were no gate like things I see between the pillars. I remember my aunt standing very close to the carousel keeping a close eye on us kids.

Was the ride a little bumpy on this carousel? The camera shook a bit as you were riding. I like gentle bumps on carousels, though. They give the ride a more mechanical feel, along with the mechanical sounds 😊

This one in 2005 and 2006 had 15 standers

I've ridden this one twice, plan on riding it again next time I'm in the DC area. Love how fast it goes.

I went there as a kid growing up in the 50’s. Took my kids there in the 90’s. Beautiful 1915 Hershall Spielmen Carousel with a German Bruder band organ

Memories of when I was a child in golden gate park thank you for having this .

I was said that the carousel was once five rows but converted to 50 foot diameter with four rows while it was at New York Station in Coney Island.

It’s getting removed.

This carousel is the only PTC carousel originally built for a zoo. A early archive image of the carousel shows it inside a building designed by PTC.

The carousel was altered while it was at the park. With new scenery and new rounding boards.
