What Is A French Drain?
Переглядів 2213 місяці тому
Is a French drain the best option? A classic Fench drain is a trench dug into the ground, to direct groundwater away from (or to) a specific area. It’s usually lined with gravel or rock, with a perforated pipe placed in the center. If your yard becomes a pond every time it rains, a French drain is an excellent way to make this water collect somewhere else (like a drainage ditch). This video wil...

BUYER BEWARE - DO NOT BUY - QUOTED $43,500 for a 824 sq/ft home crawl space. In late 2023 around august I called Acculevel out for a free quote. Greg Backus actually came out to my property and inspected my crawl space for roughly 20-30 minutes. He drew up a diagram on his iPad and ran me through all the costs needed. I called because I have a wooden subfloor with tile board attached and tile floors that are slightly out of level. It was more annoying than anything. My subfloors are not damaged and my home inspector prior to buying the home approved the foundation with detailed pictures stating all piers and beams are in good condition. Subfloors are prone to sag but nothing that more cross supports cannot fix. Greg Backus quoted me $43,500 for a house that is 824 sq ft. My house is tiny and not worth that type of pricing. He stated he didn’t even get to the back half of the house due to clearance issues. He also stated that would not guarantee flat level floors nor would that be a finished process. He said prices are subject to change upon construction and can go upwards to $15k more on top of the initial quote. I am 6 ft flat and 250lbs and Greg is 5 ft 7 in. at best and very thin and able to crawl around much further than me. I can crawl all around my crawl space with no issues as I am taller and heavier set than him. I told him I would need to think about it as I felt pressure to buy as he handed me the iPad requesting my signature simultaneously as he was telling me the astonishing quote of $43,500. Please get a real quote from a more legitimate business.
Seriously, this was such a great direct to the point understanding
The music junked another video 👎👎👎👎👎💩💩💩😬
Is that including the ceiling ??
I wasn’t the only one who felt stupid asking this question huh?
I have a question. I have a friend whos driveway sunk but its still doweled into the foundation and being held up by the dowels but at the corners of the house the driveway broke and you can see the huge gap and water is getting in there. He does not have much money and cant afford to get it mudjacked/slabjacked and I was wondering if use some spray foam to try and stop the water from getting under the driveway?
I just realized that I'm already on my 30's and still don't know this now I'm here 😅
Great information. My neighbours and I have problems with our new build. The floor is very cold and the ground floor. They are changing our thermostat downstairs but I am not sure if that will help! Any advice?
If you're in our service area give us a call. If not find a local contractor. acculevel.com/areas-we-serve/
My floor very lowered to the ground (20 cm ) how will be lifting up to level it? Thank you very much ❤
Thanks for answering the question
You're welcome.

What are some good products to use? The products you use- does the company have a company recommendation list? I’m having trouble finding mold experts where I live in NM.
We would recommend contacting your local hardware store.
Very nice information
What did you secure the wood frame for the window to the concrete with?
This a low humidity area. No evidence of moisture being held against the flooring. How to reattach?
I did not understand😅

This is what's insane about algorithms... I have been fighting my local city wastewater for four weeks now trying to tell them that their sewer line broke and has been leaking into my home the entire time. I just found the leak today, doing my investigation. My house is ruined, all of my belongings, everything. And now begins a long drawn out process to file insurance claims, suing the city and ghe wastewater company (kts a privately owned utility), and moving into a new home. I am going to absolutely destroy this little town I live in, I'm going all out on them. Sorry to message you this long random complaint haha, i just feel you been understand my dilemma a tiny bit haha. Thank you
How do you gain access to the crawl space to allow the steel beams in and wood? The access point is a small hole square shape in the corner of the living room hard to get in and out especially with equipment
Installing an exterior crawlspace door could be an option. When we have a crawl space that is too shallow we have the homeowner remove the subfloor to gain access to the crawl space.
buying a house 102 years old it has sagign floors had or does have termites...ughh i already paid 15000 for due dil and inspection..not sure whether to walk away...
The graphic at 0:11 should say Width x Length = SQFT
The diagram says width x height.
The graphic at 0:11 should say Width x Length = SQFT
Well I just been trying to work that out for days all you tell me 8 foot by 12 foot??? Balls wish I knew that a few days ago hahaha 😂 cheers
So 1 square foot is equal to 4 feet?
I don't know either 😂

Great video about floating slabs! You are wonderful, never forget that.
That guy with a fish pond near his basment 🧐
Can you pour antifreeze down sump pump pit to keep from freezing?
As I’m in Florida, I know y’all can’t physically service my slab. But I’m enjoying your videos. And I have questions, 😆 We have a large sag in the concrete slab, that seems to cover a 30’ square area, and seems to be about 2” deep. I say ‘seems’ because we also seem to have an excellent truss system; at what I think is the center there’s about a 1” gap between the quarter round crown moulding and the ceiling, slowly ever expanding in depth and reach. -How fast does the two part poly kick off? Being able to walk over it is different than fully cured. I used to pour two part foam and now have a nasty sensitivity to cyanoacrylates. As this encompasses my bed room, should I spend the night in a hotel? -Do you have an affiliate here you could recommend? -What are good questions to ask contractors when seeking bids? -What are things to look out for in interviewing contractors? -And why do you prefer poly to Portland slurry? Thank you!
