An okay-ish competitive shooter
New workbench & new Vedder Holsters product
I'm happy with the new bench I built for cleaning & maintaining my guns.
Vedder Holsters is releasing a new product today (01/15/2025) -- an inside the waistband (IWB) holster pad to improve comfort. Personally, I don't really have a need for a product like this, but I did find a good alternative use for the pad. With a few minor tweaks, this could be something I'd consider, though.

Rimfire Falling Steel from the rifle's POV!

I wanted to try something different, so I mounted my camera on the rifle today! FYI, UA-cam: this video was not sponsored by anyone. The comment about Brian's Tactical Gear was a joke because I forgot some range gear this morning and had to borrow from a friend! #rfs #rimfirefallingsteel
Finally found a load my Shadow Systems MR920P doesn't like - IDPA - 12/21/2024
Переглядів 58421 день тому
The 12/21/2024 IDPA match at Cleveland Hunting Rifle & Pistol Club went great, aside from several malfunctions due to a lower powered 135 grain competition load that my Shadow Systems MR920P obviously doesn't like. After the first malfunctions, I assumed it was because I was shooting a dirty gun, so I cleaned & lubed it between stages. After the next malfunction, I decided to switch to a 124 gr...
Shadow Systems vs Glock - Just my opinions
Переглядів 613Місяць тому
I'm regularly asked 3 questions which Shadow Systems model I prefer, why I'm transitioning from Glocks to Shadow Systems, and which compensator (MR920P vs Radian Ramjet/Afterburner) I like better. So, I'm sharing my opinions on Glocks vs. Shadow Systems, the MR920p vs. the XR920 vs. the CR920XP, and stock Glock vs. Overwatch Precision vs. Apex triggers. #shadowsystems #glock

So sad I missed this. I hate snow
I really want to train with Rick. I need to catch the next one. Looking forward to an in-depth review of the class!
Nice Brother!!! 🤙🤙🫡
Keep training 💪🏻Good work
What comp are you using?
That's the stock comp on a Shadow Systems MR920P.
Oh yeah!! 🤘 🤘🫡
What brand and capacity mags do you use for IDPA in your MR920?
I use Glock OEM mags. My first mag is 15-rounds, the spare mags are all 17 rounds (or are a different color of 15 round mags). I always want my first mag to be different because of IDPA's division capacity rules.
@ copy makes sense. I’m getting a used MR920 for IDPA
what’s it chambered in
.22LR - this was a rimfire only match
I just sent mine in for repair. I purchased mine in June maybe have 700 rounds through it. Same with the latch they replaced it and the guide rod. Stand up company. I love my mr920p. Looking forward to getting the Cr920xp. I have the xr920 elite and dr920 elite which I’m buying the comp for the xr soon. Keep the channel going.
Sorry to hear that you had to send yours back. Shadow Systems customer support has been top notch based on my one time calling them and what I hear from others. Other than the latch on the comp, my MR920P has been rock solid. Lately I'm running the MR920P upper on the XR920 lower. I should break down and buy an extra barrel and comp.
"No. Not a all." 😜🤪😆
What are you using to aim ? Looks like the sights down.
There's an optic mounted just behind the camera.
great job keeping the barrel down when running, great skill 🫡
Kicks like a.22
🤙🤙😎
Don't let Aaron and Jeff give you to hard a time. Lol
There's a lot of emotional abuse on our squad! (To be fair, I dish out a fair amount of it.)
WOW!
Thanks!
Nice shots man
🙏
Love this POV
Thanks! Looks like you shot well today!
@ Thanks, it was cold in the morning but I had some pretty good stages
Strap check 💪🏾🔥
Clean 🫡
Good shooting brotha
Thanks!
What part of GA is this?
River Bend Gun Club in Dawsonville.
@ thank you definitely going to get my foot wet this year!! Great shooting!!
Thanks! The 1st & last stages ruined my times, though. Still fun. RBGC puts on a great match!
I CANT WAIT!!!!
That's a nice building.
It's only taken 2 years to get it organized, but I'm finally getting it the way I want.
You tease....
#Teaser!!! Nice workbench, Brotha!! #OneTeam
I won't lie the radian kit was a waste of my 400 bucs. The smallest amount of oil or bad ammo fogs my dot. Percussion is obnoxious. I just shoot my 19 stock now
I’ve had the exact opposite experience. The comp keeps my optics MUCH cleaner. I haven’t noticed any change in percussion either.
@Delta-Alpha-Kilo ok I'll let the comp slide for a clean red dot for a moment. You notice no difference in percussion? Ok how do you feel about your set up compared to a prodigy aos ds comped?
@@Delta-Alpha-Kilo😂 dude you can see the percussion in the gasses escaping. Shoot a 4.25 inch SIG prodigy factory comped and get back to me. A canik rival shoots cleaner then the radian.
Absolutely love my MR920P. After I shot yours, I knew I had to get one. My first pistol with a comp and I love it! Just over 1000rds and only 3 light primer strikes but I believe that was ammo related. Might pick up a glock 17 sometime down the road so I can shoot SSP division. Amazing video as always 👍🏿👍🏿
A friend of mine really likes the Shadow Systems pistols. But has had problems with locking block pins breaking and maybe recoils springs or something. I can’t remember. It broke on him a few times at our local matches and also self destructed at the Sheep dog match this year. Seems to be luck of the draw I guess.
🤙🤙🫡
Nice! You can run a comp now in IDPA? I competed years ago and was the first guy at my club to run an optic when Carry Optics became a thing. I would def get back in if i can run my Roland special
At local matches you can almost certainly run your Roland Special!
@ that’s so awesome. I just may start competing again
Love my MR920P!! 1000+ rounds with 0 malfunctions
What ammo was it ?
It's the P1 135 grain competition ammo that I got with the coupon I won at the raffle at SC. It ran fine in my CR920XP and my MR920P a few days earlier. I left it out in my truck overnight on Friday, and it got below freezing, so I'm sure that contributed a bit. I'm hoping I can sort this out as I really like that ammo and hope to order more. For anyone else reading this, P1 makes a great product, I just have 1 particular gun that didn't care for it on 1 particular day.
Nice. Hate the ammo did not cooperate.
Yeah... the ammo didn't help. But at least I got more practice clearing malfunctions!
great video!!
Thanks! 🙏
🤘🤘😎 Was it light load ammo?
Yes, the rounds are barely making 125 power factor, whereas my 124 grain rounds are closer to 135 PF.
@Delta-Alpha-Kilo So close.
Did you load those yourself of get them from a manufacturer? I've tested some 135gr from Freedom as part of their ProMatch label and I've not seen any issues there.
They are from a commercial manufacturer. I love the rounds, but apparently my MR920P doesn't. They shoot pretty soft, maybe a bit too soft. I'll try them in a non-comped XR920 and see what happens.
The toolless comp is extremely impressive. That’s the main seller to me for the CR920XP
I agree. It's even easier than the Radian Ramjet & Afterburner, which is almost as simple as you can get.
Can u help me up grade my rear sights on my 23 gen 3
If you're only going to do this once or twice, I'd go to the local gun shop & have them do it. If you're going to do this with a fair number of guns, get the Glock front sight tool & rear sight adjuster. As for which sights, I run Ameriglo bold or Night Fision tritium sights.
I'd love to hear any advice on how to better keep my left hand/thumb on the gun, in place, like this. From what I can see I hold the gun the same way with my left thumb all the way up the barrel without moving my hand beyond the point of losing any control of my grip over my right hand and the grip itself. Is it a matter of how hard I am or am not gripping? Is it maybe my gun even though this has been a reoccurring issue and chose one that it was a lesser issue than with others? Am I locking my wrists too much/little? Any ideas on what it might be would be helpful
First, I'm not an instructor, just an average guy who likes to shoot handguns. So, I'm not going to give advice, but I'll tell you what I do. On my Shadow Systems, the left thumb is on the thumb rest. On my Glocks, the thumb is resting on the ridge at the top of the frame and pushing into the slide. As for grip pressure, a good analogy I heard is that my right hand squeezes as hard as possible without squishing a banana, my left hand squeezes like I'm trying to crush an apple.
@@Delta-Alpha-Kilo My instructor, who I see rarely because I am perpetually broke, taught me that my right hand is lightly holding a baby bird and my left hand is doing everything to kill the baby bird XD
🤙🤙🫡

I never understood why the walls were see through. Shouldn't the targets be a mystery?
I agree 100% that that would be more fun! But, this is a sport, not tactical training. Solid walls would be a lot more difficult and expensive to move, maintain, etc.
@Delta-Alpha-Kilo never done this but it looks fun
Which one was the flattest shooting?
I like the MR920P a bit more than the G45 with the Radian Ramjet & Afterburner.
You and me both. It was a long day of mistakes for me.
I called it a comedy of errors. I went in to it thinking I'd be happy if I got a solid C-class ranking. I got low-ish C-class, so I'm not happy, but I'm definitely not upset.
Joder le ganaste a rambo 😅😅😅😅
I can relate. All those F bombs in my early USPSA matches. Everything is just full of fuck because our brain is full of fuck. Keep it up brother, i will definitely be following and watching you.
🤘🤘🤘 I’m so ready to get into competition
UA-cam keeps hiding my replies. Have you seen any of them?
Absolutely try it! Tons of fun and great experience!
@@Delta-Alpha-Kilo I didn’t get it til your last one they be tripping lol
🤘🤘💪 That must have been 200rds!!!
I might have shot 200 rounds on just one stage! 😂😂😂 Assuming no makeup shots, 302 rounds total for the match.
Begging for a Showcase Video of this FDE masterpiece. 💪💪😎
I've got something planned soon. Not a showcase of this XR920, but it'll give a closer look.
