My TET Impressions
Приєднався 27 тра 2022
On my channel I want to show my impressions of different parts of the Trans Euro Trail (TET). This is a partly unpaved trail through different countries in Europe. See for more information the website transeurotrail.org. I also want to show parts of the ACT trails which are suitable for larger adventure bikes. (adventurecountrytracks.com)
In addition, I'd like to share the pleasure of driving off-road with others, exploring the beautiful landscapes in different parts of Europe.
I started off-road riding on a Honda CRF300 Rally in the spring of 2022 after doing a basic off-road training. My intention is to drive without disturbing other people so that we have the opportunity to continue driving off-road for a long time to come, especially in the more densely populated countries of Western Europe.

Off road in northern France TET Section 14 Part 2
The Trans Euro Trail (TET) France section 14 goes through the northern part of France, partly near the Belgium border. The length of this section is 411 km. The different parts vary from open landscapes till narrow single tracks between trees. Is has some slippery muddy parts especially when it has rained. Good nobby tires make it a little easier. I had a TKC80 on the front and an Anakee Wild on the rear. I made this trip in the beginning of October.

TET Section 15 starts on relatively low altitude and gradually climbs up in the Pyrenees. You ride on gravel roads along steep slopes. It is a relatively easy ride without difficult parts. I drove this section in May. The length of section 15 is about 178 km.

The TET section 13 is almost completely off-road, mostly on gravelroads through the Bardenas Reales. The landscape is dry and wide and sometimes you have to drive in a strong wind. There is a part about halfway with declines with loose stones, which is the most difficult part of this section. With my Honda riding over the Alta Via del Sale, also called Upper Salt Road or Ligurische Grenzkammstraße. This is a former military road near the border between France and Italy at altitudes between 1800 and 2100 metres. The ride goes trough breathtaking landscapes. Is dat de honda crf 300 rally? Hoe bevalt de motor je?
Ja, dat klopt. Off road bevalt hij prima.
😅Mocht je ooit de TET of ACT van Roemenie rijden, let me know, maybe we meet up 💪🏻 enjoy the ride
Thanks for this really nice video, peacefull and yet i can feel your passion to ride on those beautifull tracks !
Thank you. Nice to hear.
Myself and a friend have just returned from a 4 day trip to the Ardennes we attempted some of section 14 Heading west from Sedan very muddy conditions in the forest due to recent rain we only managed about 39 miles will definitely return again but in dryer conditions
Super. J'ai hâte de voir les autres parties !
Really appreciate your vlogs, a great effort and good to see your journey! 👍
Cracking vid and very very useful. appreciated Rod Scotland.
Nice video! Luckily the hunters did not hunt bikers 😊
Thank you. I was glad too.
Leuk stuk, mooie omgeving. Heb je mooi in beeld gebracht ! Twee camera's en een drone ?
Dankjewel. Klopt, een helmcamera en eentje op de crashbar. Soms een droneopname.
Great video,im riding down from the uk to llavorsi and doing the same route as you... absolutely cannot wait ,ride safe dude.
Excellent
I enjoyed watching, and I know that the shots we see require preparation so for us a short and fab video but for you a lot of stop starts thank you for sharing this section of the TET. I've rode this section but I think in reverse of your way 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thank you for your nice comment. The making of the video indeed takes a lot of time, but it's nice to hear that people like it. Then it's worth all the time.
Merci du partage, ✌️🙋🍀
Can make more films of the pretty places you see??? Just roads and corners not very pretty. And...top of the cake... Take the sound of the motor... Just put the music or your voice... Then it would be much better
Thank you for your advise. I will think about your suggestions. In my opinion the sound of the motorbike is an important part of a video about motorcycle adventures. But maybe it can be a little more to the background.
Much Enjoyment 👍😎
Thank you.

we were also there in may. defiantly some steep loose decents. awesome countryside. great vid👍
Thank you. It's my pleasure.
this route is now closed for motorcycles because ZEPQA. long live the eco-marxism.
Seems like you are riding too slow. Speed keeps your vertical.
I think you're right, but it's easier said than done for me. I don't like falling hard. I'm afraid I don't have enough confidence for riding faster.
Almost no ther traffic and bikes, right....? Nice vid thx for sharing! Rainer
You should rename your chanel....TET and ACT imperession (or offroad). Nice vid again.....Regards fro Berlin!
Again, nice impressions.....did you camp or stay in hotels? Also, which month did you go?
I did this trip in the end of May and stayed in hotels.
Couple comments would be nice....🙄
Nice video. I have a CRF 250L...light bike like yours..imagine get up a more than 200kg + luggage motorbike every time you fall down...and alone.
That's one of the reasons I bought this bike. I would feel very uncomfortable riding a 1200GS here on that steep descent.
Merci pour le partage 🙋✌️🍀
You're welcome
Merci pour le partage ✌️🍀🙋
Hey, nice footage. Want to do this this year. Did you have problem finding gas stations?
I did not have any problems with finding gasstations. Because the CRF300Rally runs about 30 km/l I can drive around 300km. I also carry a two liter bottle with spare fuel, but I did not have to use it.
@@mytetimpressions6786 Thank you!
nicely done , I quite fancy to do this sometime, what tyres did you chose & did they last the whole trip ? Thanks for the vidoes 👍
Thank you. I used the Michelin Anakee Wild on the front and rear. I changed the rear after about 4000 km. There was some profile left, but not enough to start a new off road adventure. The front was still good.
@@mytetimpressions6786 ok Thank you look forward to your next adventure 👍
Simply an issue of wrong tyre choice. With Mitas Co2 or Michelin tracker you would have MUCH better grip and control.
Yes, I totally agree. I had my original IRC tires on my bike. The Michelin tracker is a tire that I will consider when riding again on such a muddy trail. Because I also have to drive long stretches on the pavement I wonder how the Michelin trackers perform on the pavement and what the milage is that I can expect. I found different opinions on the internet. Have you any experience with these tires?
@@mytetimpressions6786 I use the Mitas CO2 Stoneking for TET trips. I find them to be a very good all round tyre - road legal, very good in mud, very good on loose rock, good on tarmac and they wear well. I've tried various other tyres over the years but always come back to the CO2
@@barry29193 Thank you. I will also consider them.
@@barry29193 what sort of milage Barry ?
@@2BoldlyGo Sorry I dont keep track of mileage but I've done 2 week long trips to france and one to spain plus trail riding in the Uk and there still going strong.
Hi, great vlogs, thank you for the time it takes you to post them. I'm interested in where you stay overnight. Do you prebook accommodation/ camping or seek it at the end of the day/wild camp? 😁🏕🏍👍
Hello, thank you for your nice comments. In case of the ACT, when I know already were I want to spend the night, I book a hotel the evening before. When riding the TET I don't know beforehand how far I will get on the route. Then I book a hotel in the afternoon when I can estimate where I will be at the end of the day. Often I have to drive quite a long way from the TET to a city to get a hotel. I hope this answers your question.
Yes, brilliant thanks. Did you consider/ wild camp?🤔👍
@@rickc6726 No, I don't want to bring the extra gear needed to camp. And I have to charge my batteries of my cameras.
OK, thanks 😁👍
Hi. Nice to share. Interested as I was aiming to make the same tour. How long did you need for that section between Lure and Besançon? Thx for your feedback.
Hello. I took me one day to get from Lure to Besançon with a relaxed riding style. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Its illegal to cut trees in Spain, even the fallen ones....
I too am looking to complete the entire ACT Pyrenees on my own. Any issues or advise on when best to travel?
I was traveling in May and the weather was good. However, some hotels were still closed. It's best to leave early in the morning so that you have enough time. In Spain breakfast is often served after 8 in the morning. I did not have any issues. I hope you enjoy the ACT as much as I did.
So there I was last year in June, I must have been the only one respecting the no drone flying signs :)
What is the gopro remote support? I can't find a suitable one to attach to my handlebar sadly
The gopro remote support is 'handmade' by me. On the left mirror I taped some foam to give it a larger diameter and sticked velcro tape around it. On the moment I use also a second gopro remote. The support of this one is made of a small metal plate that is bend and attached to the handlebar with a pipe clamp. Also on this one I put some sticky velcro. On the back of the remotes I also put some sticky velcro so that I can attach them to the supports. I hope this explanation helps.
That's brillant ! Well Made. Thank you for your reply
Thank you for your videos (very well made) and sharing them.
It's my pleasure.
Great serie ✌I will as well start the TET with this section as brand newbie 😁 How long did it take for each 4 parts?
Hello, I rode this section of the TET in three days. The footage, however, is divided in 4 parts.
Hi. Thanks for sharing. I am preparing my ACT Pyrenees. You did it in early May or late? In the videos you do not sgow hard tracks. There are not or you did not film those? Thanks.
Hello. I did the ACT Pyrenees in the second week of May. There are not really hard sections. As usual some of the sections are steeper than it looks on the gopro footage. I wish you a nice ride.
@@mytetimpressions6786 Thanks for your answer. Ride safe.
Merci 🙏
Greate ride :)
Where can i find this tracks of the smugglerrouts for my navagation?
When you are a member of the ACT (adventurecountrytracks.com) you can download the gpx files from their site. The smugglerroute is a part of the ACT Pyrenees.
Fantastic video quality and what a beautiful place to ride, i cant wait to ride andorra and the surrounding area..... nice one dude.
Fantastic video quality dude, im there in September and cannot wait...looks like you had good weather...
Thank you. Most of the time I had good weather with blue skies. That's what you need.
Your sandy roads are 400% better than my 2.3 mile long driveway (near Glacier Natl Park USA)...but your kidneys are in better shape..LOL...Beer not withstanding. Beautiful Country.
I enjoyed watching this section of the TET Netherlands, thanks for sharing your journey
Very Nice Video! I´m planning to do some sections of the dutch TET this year aswell on my old Africa Twin.
You need better tyres for the mud. Stick on some Michelin Trackers, or similar, and you'll be fine.
Thanks for the suggestion. I will defenitely use other tires than the standard IRC tires when I'm going to muddy places again.
I enjoyed watching thanks for sharing your adventures, I hope to ride some of this route later in the year
I'm glad you like the videos. The Dutch TET has many dirt roads with sand and mud.
