Fpv arm switch trick

HOW TO INSTRUCTIONS BELOW would love for Jb and others to try this first before condemning it, We didn't see any issues in flight with the 1% slight resistance between 0-1% and 99-100%.it makes sure your throttle is at 1%minimum thus reducing accidental arming and generally I feel so much safer carrying my controller not worrying where my throttle is, as I walk around looking for my drone.never...

    the orriginal gimbals can be pushed down further than intended becouse of use of plastic. the cnc gimbals stop at 0 no matter how hard you blip it down.

      true.but it doesn't affect it, infact this trick works the same way in plastic and cnc

    Nonsese. Put your PRE-ARM to momentary switch and you are good to go. Personaly have a ARM on 3-position switch - DISARMED in middle, DOWN position is ARM, UP position is CRASH FLIP (turtle)+ARM. With some fiddeling in EdgeTX mixer setup It work even on ELRS 2-position AUX1 (ch.5)

      thank you for your reply, I tried that too.but arm/disarm/turtle mode all on one switch is not the best idea,,it will work for u 99% fine..but the day u recycle between them arm/disarm in flight u might accidentally go to turtle mode, basically if you hit a high adrenaline scenario and need that switch very very quickly to perhaps arm after a premature disarm u could end up overshooting your switch position,, thank you for watching 😎

    Just use a prearm switch.😂

    • @captain-22
      @captain-22 6 місяців тому

      thank you for your comment, prearm is cumbersome as it adds more work.this adds a level of safety with zero additional work (of switches) and is automatic so human error or forgetting to put the throttle forward after disarming is prevented..In fact you dont notice it being a step to do, thats the beauty of It..pre arm is too much switching for me when this has proven to work for me on 3 radios over and over again.thanks again

      @@captain-22 Until the spring wears down, allowing the throttle to drop to 0, costing you fingers or worse. Without warning that'll be a nasty surprise.

      @@hattrickFPV Thank you for your comment, a very good point that I shall not ignore, however if wear and tare is in question then you are never really 100% safe until your battery is unplugged, i have seen switches,pots,etc in training flight simulators I use to repair with over 100,000 hours flown by hundreds of pilots, and switches can behave just as bad,😎.pots are the first to misbehave, followed by springs(which move the full distance allowed, and switches.however the 1% pulled by the spring doesn't get any more tension than that, unlike a spring that moves through the entire motion its got and wears fast.so I have confidence in it since last year,done it on 3 radios, never adjusted one again, but u must follow my detailed instructions in the comments, I never take anything for granted, and will make an update if I notice anything unusual, just never try these with a controller using pots(potentiometers)..Hall only and thanks for your thoughts

    Hello Kenya! I have solved this using a logical switch for arming the quad. It only changes state to "armed" when switch SH (the momentary switch on the top right of the radio) is up for at least one second. It switches to disarmed when SH is flicked again. So arming requires holding the momentary switch for 1s, while disarming is instant. This also avoids involuntary arming. Your method works, but depends on some precise fine tuning of your radio gimbal hardware. To me, this seems risky, because the gimbal can start behaving differently over time. I can see this as a supplementary pre-arm check, but would not want my fingers to depend on it. Cheers!

    • @captain-22
      @captain-22 6 місяців тому

      thanks for your honest opinion, it actually doesn't take that much precision tuning.once you start twisting the adjustment u can find that 1% in no time, then i take it to 2% and back off again untill it just clicks into 1%, with hall gimbal I have never heard them changing behaviour over time, unless u were referring to old school pots which definitely would not be a good idea for pots,, I have ran this over half a year without readjustment,..

    • @captain-22
      @captain-22 6 місяців тому

      What happens if the momentary switch is held for one second by mistake, if that how it arms then I think its risky, coz you can have a controller switch accidentally held when placed on something uneven or when hanging on a strap with your hands doing something else.I admire you talent with the switch manipulation but it better having more safety features, for example an aircraft engine start switch would not the off switch as well, when you need to arm inflight after a sudden disarming, intentionally or not you will see your quad fall for a whole second before u can arm..I have actually armd after disarming prematurely once and managed to not hit down, second time was flying and had a gps returning home issue leading to drone falling from sky,I managed to disarm and rearm before that hundred feet was over

    My Arm is on top-right. I put pre-arm on my Trim-Yaw-Right. Arming is: 1. Throttle to zero 2. With my left thumb, push Trim-Yaw-Right while flip Arm. I find this combination easy and convenient. I put this config on all my crafts and it's just second nature, now. The likelihood of accidentally pressing this combo seems very small and the trim switches were just wasting space, otherwise.
