Sheikh Shanqiti was actually following the example of the Prophet sallaa Allaahu 'alaihi wa sallam. He used to always talk about the best attributes when referring to a nation or a tribe.

The land in itself is never the problem (that is ''nature''), the ""beliefsystem"" from the people can be a big problem.
