What are your feelings on the FEI rules around running martingale vs std martingale?
Great episode! Loved having the interviews and highlights.
Thanks for another great analysis Dani. I just found out I can see some of these classes on Discovery Plus, I'll see if Thermal is there and watch the whole class, with that bit more insight into the course and how it rode! 💖
Saw you this weekend in amsterdam at the show and discovered your AMAZING channel - this is honestly my new favourite form of entertainment ❤️ thank you - to you and your team for creating such an amazing platform - I am binging all the episodes now until next week…
Thank you. We are so glad you enjoy the show, do come say hi next time you see us! The support means so much ❤️.
Thank you ❤️ I will!!!
Peder Fredricson knocking over the last fence was very strange indeed, but Matthew Sampson losing his helmet the class before was the absolute weirdest thing I've ever seen in showjumping 😂
It sure was a wild week of jumping!
I find so funny that some weeks ago everyone was talking about how rare it is to have Oxer - Oxer one stride combination, and now 3 5* GPs in a row had them lol
If it works… Those late oxer combinations always catch a few victims!
Really enjoy these summaries, from the notes on where top riders are showing, the location and coarse design (important and helpful), the prize money and the “scorecard” each venue receives. A lot to wrap up, done with a caring touch and never boring.
Thanks a million. We are so happy you are enjoying the episodes. We have a great team around us that are all showjumping MAD, and we just love watching the showjumping community grow week by week!
I just love to see Wilms reaction when he wins, he's always so so happy
Exactly. MOST male riders finish the round and can barely bother to give one little pat on the neck to the One that exerted a ton of effort. The sound the horse makes when springing off the ground sounds like the start of a heart attack.
This horse has a bigger Problem as to try to fix it with strips…
Good round up thanks.... Must say the rider in the ad for Flare Nose Strips had terrible heavy hands she pulled the horse into shape ....
The course in Basel was indeed very interesting, so much respect for the coursebuilders!
Great 1st 2025 round up!
You live in Europe? In Amsterdam???? Didn't see that coming
Only for more than 10 years!!
Loved it!
Me like salami
Lots of fun! I loved 🥰 it😅
Ha, ha, I'm envious.
I could never eat hot spicy food!!! 😱
😂
WWAAYY too 😅 much sharing…😂
🙈
What a year! So fun to look back at all the excitement and relive those moments
🤯❤️
It was a special year some courses was to easy some was not fair to the horses but it cant be easy being a course designer today with so many top riders and top horses
It’s all about finding that balance! Not too many clears but creating a good experience for all involved!
@@Horse-Bytes yes for sure looking forward to 2025 even if i will miss H&M Legend of Love she is a true Queen ❤
What an unexpected series of results. Equestrian and otherwise. Truly appreciate your fresh pro efforts. The sport needs you
It certainly was we can’t wait to see what 2025 brings!
Wow, crazy year! Great to look back at the highs and lows. Thanks Dani!!
💪❤️
Bauloubet du Rouete
Nick! LOL.
It's such an obvious no brainer choice for me: Big Star & Nock
Great recap!!
Well done. Telling it like it is....
I think the women's situation in the sport is very interesting, but let's be honest. 15-20 years ago there were women who were much better too. You had Bezzie (Authentic), Meredith (Shutterfly, Checkmate), Christina Liebherr (No Mercy), Edwina (Pialotta, Itot), Penelope (Flora, Mylord), Malin (Butterfly Flip), Luciana (Winningmood, Lennox) ... 2004-2008 you had ALL of them in championships and GP start lists and any of them could win.
W
Jump offs are just crazy these days!! 💖💖
Se empolgou demais😊😅
I just love this show, it’s everything showjumping needs. Love the authenticity, it’s so exciting for the sport!
Interesting 😊🙂🐎🐎🐎
To me, the fact that Dennis was clear as FIRST to go, in such difficult class , was more impressive that Vogel’s victory
Statistically, going first you have a better chance of going clear, but it sure was impressive!
@@Horse-Bytes I'd like to hear more about this, as I think most people believe starting later gives you the advantage of seeing other riders go, see how the distances ride and also see how the time allowed plays a role in the class.
You are absolutely right. Riders never want to be pulled first but when you look at results it tends to fair well for them. Maybe it’s a bit of reverse psychology or they just go in and get the job done without worrying about any others!
Would you say the "better" European riders/horses come to the USA for easy pickings, so to say? Competition in EU is much!! stronger than USA, which has more history of the Show ring Hunter sector, as boring as it is to watch. Slow and lazy, over small obstacles. It's hard to stay alert while happening. Also, it does rather seem in USA, a high percentage of riders are children of the absurdly wealthy, not needing a paycheck, and having a horsey hobby. You had made the comment elsewhere about too many events going on simultaneously. Indeed. I am 70 y.o. and can't keep track of who, what, or where .
That’s definitely an argument but the sport is really developing in the US and a lot of riders have a ton of business opportunity there too! Unfortunately, the sport seems to be getting more and more expensive everywhere 🙈. Yes it’s definitely hard to keep up, that’s why we started Horse Bytes 🙌
It was like watching D level Pony Clubbers attempting A level competition for 90% of it. However, I do realize of course, it takes much experience and a very $$$$$ horse to compete at the pinnacle of sport.
Can you givee some tips for showjumping?❤
Hi Amelie, Check out Horse Bytes each week for analysis on the top sport! Pick up tips and watch how the pros get it done! We hope you enjoy the shows and let us know if you have any other questions.
I’m so happy to have discovered this channel!! I wish the videos were longer and showed more clips from the recapped events. Plus a discussion at the end about upcoming 5* would be awesome!
Thank you, we really appreciate your support and feedback. Make sure to share with all your Horse-mad! friends and stay tuned to see the show develop each week!
Great commenting Dani - quite interesting given the Europeans and the US Washington comparison….
Thanks Susan we love the feedback.
Great stuff again! ✨️
Thanks Siobhan we appreciate you support!
Connor knows exactly what he's doing , I think he has chosen not to overface his horses while making very good money by winning everything
He certainly is one of the best out there 😉
Connor is an amazing rider , but for me you can’t compare the level of 5* shows in Europe to the US. Whenever he comes over , he can’t manage to produce the same level of results… just an opinion
Perhaps that’s a horsepower issue and not a skill level issue…;-)
