Great comments! Warm ups and Cool downs are ABSOLUTELY essential in surviving band camp! I played Tenors all four years of HS! Sunglasses 😎 and Sunscreen 🧴 SPC 30 and above! Don’t beat yourself up and ask questions when you don’t understand whether it’s reading music or marching the drill correctly and in-step! Focus on good sound and playing it correctly. Remember if you can sing it…you can play it. We would sing sixtuplets first and then sticks out and play it! For the horns same practice sing it and play it! Core Strength is essential and necessary! For the Battery work on your crab walk! 🦀 Keep those feet moving and keep the drums level! My instructor used a can of Coca-Cola! By the way…my instructor was Steve Campbell-Center Snare for the Blue Devils 86. He marched 27th Lancers 81-82-83. BD 84-86. BD won 4 straight Fred Sanford High Percussion Titles under the direction of Tom Float!
