After melancholy lies... the future.

Inspired by the spirit of the d minor blues, but with some more personal chords added.

I've felt like my compositions have been a bit unoriginal lately, perhaps from getting complacent. Here, I try to break the mold, and return to something more real and intentional. This is one of the few works I find painful to relisten to.

Still, it's one of the best.

What could it feel like?

I based the beginning off a traditional folk sound, then added some Debussy "Reflets dans l'eau" (Reflections in the water) and some of my own suspended touches.
