Yes! it also annoyed me that he was the one who adopted them but all the responsibility falls on the female lead. He doesn't even know how to interact with them with out her help. The OG MC repossessing her body was not something I saw coming. After all that he has put her through, it is no wonder she wants to stab him. 🤣🤣

I agree with you. The manhwa was interesting in the beginning because of how badass the FL is but it is somewhat boring now but I still enjoy reading it.

i don't know. i feel like certain things are just irredeemable. I haven't read the manhwa but i do see all the panels posted on social media so I do have some knowledge of the plot; however, you can give better opinion as you've read it so i will try to give this manhwa a go. i haven't heard of problematic prince so thank you for letting me know. i'll include it in another video.

@@ManhwaLand-ls5oy The ML from "What It Means To Be You" redeems himself over time as the story moves forward. People who hated him before eventually forgave him later on. The manhwa came to its completion not too long ago and the ending was really sweet. Don't trust TikTok or social media since they don't give you the whole picture of the story. Sure the ML had his fault but he isn't that terrible in comparison to the others mentioned in the list. Also "The Problematic Prince" manhwa is adapted from a novel which shares the same author as "Cry, or Better Yet Beg" and "Bastian". And just like those other two, the ML from "The Problematic Prince" is sh*tty as f*ck.

I read a couple of chapters long ago and if I remember correctly, I stopped reading it because the ML rap*s the FL. I liked the strong and brave FL though.

I'm sorry, but I'm now in full vent mode, so please allow me to indulge in some long held in rage vomiting. If you ever want to make a Video bashing this trainwreck feel free to copy off my essay here, because I want everyone to know how heinous this series really is. The list of things this dude (Kylart) does just to the FL (Elan) are: - Make her watch as he has a woman who claims to be the person he had sex with the night of this festival get dragged to the dungeon because he "hates liars" (remember this) - Tells her he'd murder any woman claiming to be pregnant with his children because they'd be lying despite already knowing damn well she's pregnant with his kid(s) (Spoiler, she has twins) thus ensuring she's too terrified to even let him know she's pregnant period. He has no discernable reason to do this other than sadism since he's not too shy to tell her his feelings and wouldn't give a crap what anyone thinks about him wanting to marry a commoner because, well, he's a TYRANT. - Refuses to let her quit her job due to health reasons since he I guess wants her to tell him the real reason she's been sick (because she's an imperial knight meaning he's not just her sovereign but also her employer.) - Uses magic to stalk her in her dreams, which also allows her to stalk her IRL since the spell has a range. He toys with her emotions in this way by letting her believe she's fantasizing about him being sweet with her. - When it comes out that he knows she's pregnant by him his immediate attitude is "well guess that means you're mine" and doesn't care that she's enraged with him for letting her suffer for so long by LYING. - After she escapes to another country for five years he finds her again in her dreams letting her know he's close so she starts to panic. When he asks what happened with the pregnancy she lies and tells him she miscarried, to which his response is an unbothered "That's fine, we'll just make another one." ಠ⁠_⁠ಠ - He abducts the children simply because they were friendly with a man who turned out to be a rebel and gets close to killing them not knowing that they are actually his despite the boy having his ( very rare) eye color and Elan's hair color and the girl having his hair color and Elan's eye color. This is because he doesn't have any qualms about murdering children, which is a great trait for a male lead to have (more on this later) - When Elan gets captured trying to save them he uses the kid's safety to force her to go back to the empire so she can be with him. When she threatens suicide if he doesn't let the children go he flatly tells her that if she's dead he has no reason to keep them alive. This is because his obsession with Elan takes precedence over his duty to his own children, which is also a great quality to have in a male lead. ಠ⁠︵⁠ಠ - When he gets wounded saving Elan's life during an attack on their convoy he tells the doctor treating him not to let her know that his wound is pretty much healed, because he wants to keep using it as a reason for her to feel indebted to him ಠ⁠ ⁠೧⁠ ⁠ಠ - When they get back to the empire he tells (not asks) Elan that she's going to become his empress despite her not wanting to marry him, and that he's going to officially register the children into his family records "to protect them" and also as a means of making her stay at the palace. ಠ⁠ಗ⁠ಠ - To cap this all off, this isn't even a case of him falling in love with her for some grand reason like "I admire a woman with so much determination that she can go from being an orphaned commoner to Imperial knight based on merit alone" or "she once showed me kindless that I have never forgotten" or anything like that. This entire obsession started because he just saw her training one day and was like "She makes me think of flowers and my mommy liked flowers. Never interacted with her, never even really knew of her presence, just randomly seeing her training. ಠ⁠益⁠ಠ All of this garbage is forgiven though, because... Well he saved their son during that same attack which shows he actually loves his children! Except Elan acknowledges that he could have also done it just because he still needed him to use as a means of keeping her from leaving him. Oh but he got injured saving her! Which, uh, yeah, she knows he has an unhealthy obsession with her. But he's nice to the kids when they get to the palace, which is proof of his love for them and cannot be construed as him using them to emotionally manipulate Elan into liking him. This guy does the absolute bare minimum and Elan goes from "I'll do anything to keep him away from me and my babies" to "I will faithfully serve him even if it costs my life" in a frustratingly short time period. It really smacks of "Well he's the father of her children so that's why they should be together." And now, for the OTHER crap he's done that doesn't involve him wanting to force a woman into a relationship with him, because of COURSE he gets worse. After all, Kylart IS a tyrant and he completely deserves that title. I mentioned that I was rooting for the antagonists, two men who's ultimate goal is to kill Kylart in revenge, and they are 100% justified in their hatred of him. One is the guy set up as the second male lead, Leonhart, who is Elan's superior in the Imperial knights. He serves in that role so he can be close to Kylart to find the best way to bring him down. This is because when Kylart was purging the royal family and the aristocracy who opposed him taking the throne, Leonhart's parents actually backed him. Kylart rewarded their loyalty to him by murdering them and staging it to look like an accident because "I knew they just wanted to use me once I took the throne and I didn't want to be used." Kylart acknowledges fully that he murdered them, and he never once shows a shred of remorse, most likely because he is big mad that Leonhart is in love with Elan and it once seemed like Elan might like him back as well (Which is understandable because he's always been respectful to her and even offered to be a surrogate father for her child when he found out she was pregnant.) The series decides to TRY to torpedo his likability by doing the "actually he feels entitled to Elan's affection and is super jealous of her relationship with Kylart, who he wants to kill and is willing to stoop to using the children to get to him, ISN'T HE JUST HORRIBLE?" And while yes, those things are bad, Kylart is guilty of them in a worse way and we're supposed to support him because Elan eventually starts liking him back for some reason. Like, I cannot be arsed to be mad at Leonhart for feeling upset that Elan chose Kylart over him when he rightfully points out to her all of the shit Kylart did to her and the only response she can give is "well he changed," I cannot be arsed to care that he is willing to use the children as a means of luring Kylart into a trap, fully acknowledging he has absolutely no intention to harm them mind you, when Kylart straight up threatened to murder them just because he wanted Elan to be his cocksleeve. I REALLY cannot be arsed to care that he wants to kill Kylart when his reasons for wanting to are completely understandable, and the only reason we're supposed to not want Kylart to die is "Well he's the male lead." To the very end of the series, even after all of the shit he pulls, Leonhart is still WAY more likeable than Kylart will ever be. The second antagonist is similar to Leonhart, a guy named Alverre that Elan knew while she was in hiding. He started a rebellion to overthrow Kylart, because he's the prince of a country that Kylart completely wiped off the map. Like Leonhart, he's also willing to use Elan and the children as a means of getting to Kylart, but also like Leonhart he has not intentions of actually hurting them because he actually cares about them. He does go as far as kidnapping Elan and making Kylart think he's torturing her to lure him into his stronghold (which he's not) but it's hard for me to go "Oh no, he's so horrible" when again, Kylart isn't any better. It gets worse when Kylart does finally come to rescue her and begins begging Alverre to return her to him unharmed, and Alverre demands to know why he should show him any mercy when he had no mercy for all the innocent citizens of his kingdom, including women and children, when they begged him to spare their lives. And like with Leonhart's parents, Kylart doesn't even try to deny he did this and shows no remorse for what he did. It was honestly at this point that I almost stopped reading because I couldn't get over the fact that I was supposed to be rooting for someone so atrocious, and that I was supposed to think Alverre was just so horrible for wanting to kill him. How am I supposed to care about a guy that has no problems slaughtering innocent people who were willing to surrender to him? Innocent children? The elderly? And he has no remorse either. I understand Kylart not wanting to be beaten by Alverre but the very, VERY least he could have done is feel sorry for what he did. He's supposed to be a redeemed man, but the only change that's actually happened is he's nice to the woman he wants to love him and the children he had with her. TL: DR, Kylart is a monster who will remorselessly murder his own allies and innocent civilians due to his obsession for power and will threaten his own children due to his obsession with their mother, and we're supposed to be ok with it because he "loves" the FL and she for some reason decides to live him back. Also the antagonists are better people than he will ever be and didn't deserve what happened to them.

His mom was the one good family relationship he had (because his shitty backstory is supposed to justify him being a shitty person I guess) but I don't think he sees his mom in her since his mom was very elegant and sickly (because OF COURSE she was sick) and Elan neither looks nor acts like her. I think it's literally just "Mom liked flowers, she reminds me of a flower (I guess because of her pink hair because I can't think of any other reason a sweaty, irritated woman in a military uniform would resemble a flower ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯) therefore I'm gonna make her my waifu no matter what." Another thing you can throw in that I didn't address and I can't believe I forgot, it the whole reason she slept with him in the first place is because she was at a festival wearing a wig so nobody would recognize her, got completely hammered, saw what she thought was some random hot dude (he was wearing some enchanted necklace that changed his appearance), came onto him and he took advantage of her inebriation to have sex with her. She was so wasted she didn't remember that he was calling out her name (since remember, he knew the entire time that she was the woman he took to bed) and she only realized who he was the next morning when she was sober and saw his necklace that she knew only the emperor possessed. So yeah, um.... You can add THAT to the list of why he's literally the worst. It's never addressed in universe and Elan never thinks of what happened as being rape, but it was. And you can't even use the "they were both drunk" excuse as he was sober. So yeah, Kylart is probably top 3 worst MLs ever, but he kinda flys under the radar since this series isn't as talked about as others I've seen like The Mistress Runs Away. And yes you can credit me if you want to but I'm not gonna be upset if you don't. Just be sure to comment back on this thread when it come south so I can grab my popcorn.

I am the same. I haven't read Your Despair one but from the sounds of it, it seems to be the worst story i've ever heard. I read only 1st chapter of The Mistress Runsaway and it seemed fishy so I read spoilers to find out what happens in the story. ML is one the most digusting piece of trash ever and the FL is still gonna end up togerther with him.

Damn, I never hear of Your Despair but it sounds atrocious. It might piss me off more than I Got Pregnant with the Tyrant's Child which I absolutely hate. I will say that in The Mistress Runs Away, Killian did not just want Rowena for sex and that's what makes everything even worse for her. If he had, then he never would have come after her and she would still be at the factory, maybe even been proposed to by that doctor who seemed like he was interested in her. It's because _he_ d realizes he... Uh... "loves" her that he causes her so much misery.
