We vacationed near Thatcher Island. On foggy days you could hear an eerie sound that my mom thought were seals... and I was like I think that’s a foghorn from the island.

I remember vacationing in Cape Anne and I always loved looking out at Thatcher Island. There’s just something really magical about those twin lights.

Thanks Mike. I flew from Eden Rd. because the day I went there was not a soul in site so it was just as easy to park on Eden Rd. and sit on the rocks and fly from there. Plus there are a lot of 'private way' signs around so I wanted to be as inconspicuous as possible. My only suggestion would be to watch out for the gulls, there are thousands of them that make the island home. Have a good flight, can't wait to the footage.

Great video! I am going to rockport/gloucester tomorrow for the weekend and I plan on filming thatcher island as well. I have a phantom 3 pro. Any tips or info I should know about filming the island? I saw in a previous comment that you flew from Eden Road. I was going to try and get to the parking lot at the end of Old Penzance Rd...
