Fast Forward: Women in Photography
United Kingdom
Приєднався 3 січ 2024
Fast Forward: Women in Photography is designed to promote and engage with women in photography across the globe. We want to provoke new debate and ensure that we are in the news and in the history books. The project is based at the University for the Creative Arts (Farnham, UK).
To share and to make more accessible the knowledge, we created this UA-cam channel offering the videos of the conferences, talks and other events we have done. More information about us and what we do on our website.
You can also join us in our mission by signing Fast Forward Manifesto.

This is wonderful, thank you for sharing this presentation. I have been collecting original Solveig Lund photos for a few years now and it’s great to learn more in depth about her.
What a wonderful presentation. You can feel her passion for the images and her mamas work come thru in her words. I really enjoyed this
❤
A nice introduction and tribute to a brave and brilliant photographer who died too young. I lived in Newport at the time Tish was doing the course but only came across her work by chance a few years ago when someone posted an image on a Newport history FB page of an Ex Miner in the New Found Out pub (in Cambrian Road not Pill), a pub I never ventured in as it was rough and specialised in scrumpy! My loss. Taken aback by the power of the photograph, I dug deeper and discovered Sean Tucker's tribute to Tish on UA-cam which in turn led to me buying the photobook that includes that photo. ❤
thank you for sharing your memories and connections!
Wonderful tribute to your Mam❤ Soulful and insightful insight into the life’s of those who were struggling with lack of education and poverty. Reminds me of my home, Dublin, in the 70-80’s, crumbling buildings, unemployment, teen pregnancy. That said, we had a great sense of community, especially among the women, strong matriarchs. I get that sense from Tish’s photos. I look forward to seeing the rest of her collection . 👏❤️ Paula.
I watched the documentary last night on BBC4. It borough back so many memories for me. I left School in 1981 in Liverpool. Thatcherism was in full, brutal effect. I did a couple of YOP schemes that never led to a proper job. I was forced to move south in 1983 in the search for work. Tish was a very special person and her body of important work needs to be treasured.
😊 'promo sm'
Considering the fact that her photos were so widespread throughout the country and many of them of timeless beauty, it is astonishing that not only there are very few books out there showcasing her work and it is the year 2024 until we finally see something like this - thanks a lot for sharing!
thank you for your comment!
In America it's very different. 38% of Black pregnancies are terminated, 80% of BW are overweight, 78% unwed mothers. Please research THE NEGRO PROJECT from white woman Margaret Sanger.
