If you like my video you may well like my book on Pep Guardiola's years as Barça's coach. Barça: The Guardiola Years by Nic Aldam. Available on Amazon.
thank you :)
Thank you! not much out there on van gaal's tenure at Barça.
Breaking Eto’o’s game down to just speed and raw hunger is borderline disrespectful considering he was just as technically gifted as Suarez, if not more. Quicker feet, better dribbler, better in tight spaces, better at interplay. Suarez is a better finisher and not as selfish i would say. Despite his goals, if you replace Suarez with any 20 goals a season striker, that barca team still wins all those trophies. Eto’o was the main man while he was there despite all the other stars. Even with dinho balling they didn’t end their trophy drought until Eto’o came and like you said the 2 seasons they didn’t win the league while he was there coincided with his injury problems.Suarez was a brilliant striker but overall Eto’o is the better player
¡Patitos lindos! Dia ventoso
How funny we are in similar situations
Super!
Great video.. Make some more Mr.
Siempre Negativo. Nunca Positivo.
Great video !!!
8-2
This is a very good video, thank you! I was looking for information on this time of Barça's history and was very pleased with how well explained this is. I had seen some of these stories (sempre negativo, Rivaldo reunion with the team), but the context does makes the whole thing a lot better. You mentioned the media and that made me think of one thing: how much of the blame on the media reaction would you say came from Cruyff's reaction? He was not a big fan of Van Gaal from the beginning for what I understand. Thanks again for the video!
Thank you your videos are awesome
Suarez disparado
@@victorlopesgaiofatto6239 Race disturbing you here. One played in an era when football was really football. It's like comparing Dinho and Neymar, would be insane.
Wow this is such a good video, keep up the good work! And yeah.. Van Gaal deserves some more credit for his work at Barcelona
@@bastiandominguez865 R9 was already gone before Van Gaal came mate, Rivaldo played the best football under him and won the golden ball. Van Gaal won 2 times La Liga in 3 years, after he left Barca finished 4th and the next season again 4th and then 6th
@@bastiandominguez865 Ronaldo played only under Bobby Robson for one season, he played his last game under Robson, when Van Gaal came Ronaldo was already gone.. they didn’t play 1 singe game together.. don’t blame everything on Van Gaal, as for Riquelme maybe he just didn’t fit his tactics, not every manager likes every player, no big deal

Hi Nick, are you fine? We want you come back. Hugs.
What an arrogant idiot, typical of British ex-pats which is why I don't mix with them despite being one. You chose to live there, follow their laws. If you don't like it go back to the UK.
Delighted for Fati. Hope he's not burdened with the weight of unreal expectations. The midfield lacks a conductor not to mention Busquets getting older and in need of rest/rotation. Perhaps Arthur can step up to the conductor role. More minutes for Puig might be another option worth trying out in games when the starters in CM aren't delivering. Griezmann could I fear, turn out to be another Coutinho.
Apologies for confusing Leganes with Levante, always a problem for me, the same happens with Villarreal and Valladolid!
Para el partido de hoy Barça 4 Leganes 0 Força Barça ❤💙❤💙
Mallorca 0 Barça 3 Força Barça 👍
Add your prediction below. I'll go for Mallorca 2 Barça 3
Far too many issues thrown into the video IMO Nic. All important issues but not sure if they're all relevant to the return of football fans to the stadiums. I don't agree with the view that the reaction to the outbreak has been overblown. I do agree that the authorities response to the outbreak has been generally disappointing wrt the violations of the safe distancing protocols by the elite, adequacy of healthcare facilities, enforcement of safety measures & economic relief to the vulnerable. But in democratic countries people (theoretically at least) have the power to hold their elected reps. accountable in the next election(s). See what you've made me do here Nic, I should have been talking about FCB, the beautiful football & yet you've got me talking politics. All your fault Nic....:)
Hi Omer, thanks as always for the feedback. It was never my intention to get political, but when politics affects football and football fans I feel I should say what I think. I know others will think differently and that's fine. Hopefully with the games starting now there will finally be some football to talk about!
Interesting collection. My fav football book so far is the Maradona autobiography titled 'El Diego'. There is another Messi biography I've enjoyed by Luca Caioli. One book I look forward to reading sometime in the future is Euan Mctear's Atletico Madrid story. Have you read the book on the Betis-Sevilla rivalry by Colin Millar?
Hi Omer. Thanks for the suggestions, I've not read any of those. I'll definitely check out the Maradona book and the Sevilla-Betis rivalry has to be an interesting read.
Terrific work once again Nic especially the music. Noticed the interestingly named 'Five Guys' was back in business unlike in an earlier video. What about another impressively named outlet called 'Michael Collins' that you featured in a previous video? Is it me or does the general public in the video seem to have a somewhat lax attitude towards wearing a face mask?
I'll try and do an update soon on the Sagrada Familia and I'll check on the Michael Collins bar.
Good work Nic. Stay safe and looking forward to the next video.
Cheers Omer. Look after yourself!
Nothing to report from the Republic of Hartlepool. Same day, same idiots x
Uff, a gale of possible modifications. I don't understand the idea of reducing playing time.
It will be a totally different league. It will be interesting to observe fans reactions at home.
It won't be the same singing on your own :-(
Just stopping by. Do want to note, I almost left because of how long your intro was thinking the whole video was like that. A 23 second intro is way too long.
Thanks for the feedback Ibrahim. It's something I'm not quite happy with and I'm trying to work on it. The previous intro was even longer!
not only are we neighbours.. we buy our meat at the same butcher in el carrer gran!
There are issues about his consistency, work rate and tendency to disappear during games. His best position IMO is behind the CF, the problem is that Messi often cuts into that space and with his advancing years, it is likely he will be a permanent fixture there. It is practically impossible that any club is going to pay 90m for him. FCB will just have to accept that they made a massive blunder and hope that Dembele doesn't turn out to be another one. This season even if FCB are declared champions will always end up being surreal in so many ways. Just hope the corona thing is brought under control quickly with minimum damage.
You have a reporter inside your heart. Congratulations. In a few months, this short film will be an interesting document.
I have read that several scientists think that the virus will lose strength, especially in summer. It is a hypothesis that is spreading. Others think, on the contrary, that the situation can be complicated again at any time. I hope that at the end of August we will see things a little clearer. I am optimistic by nature. More worrying is the future of economy. Two scenarios are also drawn: rapid recovery in September or deep crisis. I have heard that stock markets are more calm in the past few days, after the sharp declines at the start of the pandemic. I don’t know.
Really, he made a new style. He reminded me of English teacher Vaughan, half English, half Spanish.
D.E.P lamento mucho su pérdida
My worst Barca (transfers in) XI: Dutruel(GK), Bogarde (LB) Chygrynskiy (CB) Christanval (CB) Aleix Vidal (RB) Rochemback (CM) Turan (CM) Petit (CM) Coutinho (LW/LF) Ibra (CF) Geovanni (RW/RF). Notable mentions: Dembele, Hleb, Song, Keirrison, Gomes, Vermaelen,Henrique &Caceres
I kind of liked both Arda Turan and Zlatan, but yes neither of them fit in to our style of playing.
Stay safe Nic. Loved the music at the end.
Thanks Omer, hope you are well
Thanks for you video👍🌷🌷
Perpetua = para siempre.......😢😢
Siempre me ha gustado Alves👍 Buen video 👏👏👏👏
These are great Nic, please keep doing them regular x
It's curious. In my neighborhood, everyone also respects the two-meter distance rule in shops. I think we do it by imitation, out of respect, or for fear. How sad is the city! I do not like cars (although they have some advantages), but now I miss them. I have written this in my confinement diary: blogs.uab.cat/estelasenlamaramenos/2020/04/03/diarios-para-un-confinamiento-xiv-nostalgia-del-monstruo/ Diaries for a confinement (XIV) .- Nostalgia for the monster. "I always thought that the car incorporated, along with its indisputable advantages, a countless plague of complications. In fact, it was without a doubt the main environmental problem in the West. Things had started to improve with the new filters and motors, with greater security, with the electric car and even with the future of the autonomous vehicle. However, when I see the almost empty highway from home all day, I miss cars and I would like to see more joy in motorway lanes. I remember the without nuance sentence of Fred Trammell Crow, the great tycoon and real estate developer of the 20th century in the United States: «I like congestion. It's better than the recession”."
While it is nice to hear the birds, it is very quiet and also very sad due to the general mood of everyone. I miss the sound of children playing, the shouts and arguments of the people are missing. We can't go on like this
Interesting video. It makes me think about the importance of luck in life. I recall the sad plays of Chigrinsky and Amunike. You are very young, but I remember the case of Romerito, when Cruyff was the coach. It was the 1988-1989 season - outside the deadline of your video - and I think he played three or four games. It was all too hasty. One of the typical Cruyff occurrences.
Ha ha, you made me laugh with "you are very young"!! Romerito arrived to Barcelona around the same time as me. I stuck around for a bit longer. I made the time frame from 1990 as "the last 30 years" sounds better than "the last 31 years" :-)
Magnificent report. It's very sad. I 'm confident that we will overcome it.
Hi, it's me Joan A . (from UAB). Congratulations , you are a good writer and you will be an amazing you tuber.
