i sometimes wonder, why did 19th century french composers like 5 flats and 5 sharps so much....😂 maybe they wanted their piece played by only professionals, and not common amateurs...😂😂

It is scored for an Alto flauto dolce not any other instrument, if we are intelligent and take heed of the musical period to which it adheres. I am not sure if a baroque Oboe would be suitable, I haven’t heard one making a recording yet.

Oh my, I'm out of shape for five sharps. It was the A-sharp that gave me the most problems. It just slipped my mind, over and over.

Alto? Sure, but I played it on my Tenor. Very enjoyable.
