Myself Ant and Rab the dog are in the process of walking the English and Welsh coastal path which is around 3500 miles or 5600km.
We set of on this adventure on the spring equinox (2024) and our journey is well underway.
I will be filming our journey to document the places we pass through, the people and dogs we meet, my feelings and thoughts and the ways in which we manage ourselves to keep the walk going.

Wales Coastal Path ep.37 Trefor to Morfa Nefyn
Welcome to our adventure. Myself Ant and Rab the dog have embarked on our walk along the coastal paths of England and Wales.
Starting our trip on the Scottish boarder town of Gretna and heading south along the Cumbrian coast, on to Lancashire and Merseyside, the Wirral and then walking the amazing Welsh coastal path.
After this if we are still fit for the job we will try to walk the rest of the English coastal path.
This will be a self supported trip. Rab and I have our campervan which we will spend most of our nights in. We will have to complete the days walk and then find our way back to pick up the van by Bus, Train, Hitching a ride and sometimes we may have to walk back.
When a days walk will not bring us to a place suitable to get back to the van we will camp out.
One of the challenges of this trip outside of the walk is to find a suitable place to park our van every night.
I will be documenting our journey to see what this long walk has to offer both from the external environment we experience and my internal, personal journey through the highs and lows of this long distance adventure.
Along with walking through the amazing and diverse landscapes of this trip it will be an exploration of my spiritual, physical and emotional self, due to this fact please understand that some attitudes and opinions I may express while filming may not be a true representation of my thoughts, and though these moments can be edited out I would like show at least some of my emotions at the time I experience them.
With this in mind my friends, I reserve the right to change my mind and my opinion at any moment.
I welcome any questions you may have
much love to you all...

A full happy view there B.G. The great orme was a sign of the epic things to come. Ha, bivvie spotting - always a fave pastime out hiking. Beach walking is top rate too - some nice stretches here. Re-the castle how cool to have the gateway to the town still there - walk right through the ages. Well, a good finish with the graf. U have to sub on account of the good vibes. All the best. Mark
Ah, I seee you lost your way at the start of Llanfairfechan, (just after the road coming from the A55 roundabout, you should have turned right, to the Llanfairfechan promenade/beach, you must have followed the map path on the main road, (no vid from here on but you started the vid near Abergwyngregyn crossing a river on a footbridge, about 3 miles further on from Llanfauirfechan. No matter but you missed out on a fine path at the sea's edge from LLanfairfechan Promenade/beach to that place you had a wash.
Just out of interest Ant, when did you film this episode?
Hey there...it was the 28th of may 2024. there are lots of miles and many episodes to come...
@beyondgrowing Thanks for that Ant...was looking at the flowering foxgloves and the height of the sun and thought there's no way that's February in Wales 🤣 Totally with you on your frustrations on the gradual erosion of our freedoms though... Looking forward to the rest of your journey 👍
All that road walking isn't pleasant, is it Ant? I remember hating that walk for that reason, but good news the next week or so is stunning as you probably already know by now! Keep posting it's great to watch your journey. Thank you 💚
yes....the road walking is our least favourite part of the journey, though necessary sometimes....thanks again for your kind comments...
Having a good old rant there Ant 😂 looked a nice spot at the end keep shining brother ✌️
roadside ranting bro, its all part of the balance of an adventure...
Nice1 Ant and Rab a dog friendly adventure 👍🏻 agree slowly chipping at r freedoms till there is nothing left an we either lose it or av to pay for it, it’s communism a wolf in sheep’s clothing, Trojan horse
yes, there seems to be too many rules and signs say NO this and NO that...for us to ignore...
Lovely light through the forest
Can’t beat a double shower 🚿
Haha, yes I am sure you will of had to enjoy that wonderful experience bro...
Thanks for another great video.❤ I know you like to follow your own route, but if you're ever back in Conwy, the official WCP offers 2 coast routes as you probably already know, im sure. Red upland route and the blue lowland route, I did both. The upland route was pretty spectacular with stunning coast views all the way and no nasty traffic noise. 😊 Actually, one of my many favourites walks on the entire Welsh coast. Happy safe walking 😊
@dianeiles6348 thank you for your advise, I will take the upland route next time. We do miss out on some routes we would usually enjoy on this trip due to myself feeling we must keep moving on and doing the miles. It is one of the aspects I fight with myself about, the idea of forgetting the end point and spending more time exploring is very appealing...maybe this is how our journey will evolve
@beyondgrowing can't wait to see more on your mammoth trail. I feel like I'm living my dream just watching. Best wishes to you both. Di 😀
@dianeiles6348 thank you so much...enjoy your day..much love from beyond growing....
👀👍🏻
Abundant food pickings in those hedges this time of year
@Capture262 yes...it's time for that now this year...
Loving your adventure ❤. Thanks so much! I've almost finished the Welsh Coast myself on the official route, which was actually almost 900 miles, including Anglesey. Started the English one now, too, as I live near the border. Really enjoying your journey. Thanks again 😊
Hi there, rab and i are so happy you are enjoying our journey. For the foreseeable future on the channel will be the Wales coastal path where you will be able to recognise the footsteps from your own journey...
@beyondgrowing Brilliant thank you! I'm binge watching your channel now, so I'm already enjoying reminders of my own Welsh adventures. Absolutely love Rab too❤️3 2 1 GO!!!🤣🐕
@dianeiles6348 ha ha, yes little rab is living g his best life. He is such a adventure junkie...many more vids to come....thank you for your kind words..
Ace ... cheers from Cornwall.
@@GreyGhost. hey, thank you. Hope you enjoy the journey
Love how you say "we" when talking about planning your routes...I now have a vision of you and Rab sat in chairs with glasses on perusing an OS map and him getting grumpy when you choose the roads over the beaches 😂
@AdeptHavelock ha, yes we do both prefere the wilderness to the man made environments. Our navigation rituals are fun as we are usually walking where we have never walked before bit it is what adventure is about to head into the unknown eh...
Love Rhos on Sea Chapel, what a gem. You have been to quite a few of these places in your youth! Your Mum. Xx
@@judithatkinson179 ha, yeah I remember some of them..
Now 2025 Year 🎉
Good day to y'all...Rab the dog and I have just hit 1000 subs....much love to you all and thank you so much for joining us on our wonderful adventure...there are many more to come....
Sunday mornings with a nice cup of tea following you & Rab on your travels - simple pleasures eh guys. I should make the effort to go and visit Llandudno, mum and dad used to take us there for holidays as kids. Thanks for another smashing video Ant.
Hey, no worries brother, we are so happy you like our trip...It is a very beautiful area round there, we will go back for further explorations some time...much love
Dude, if you know you are filming for UA-cam, get a microphone that damps out wind noise.
@johnmacdonald8040 thanks for the advise...it's a good idea
Ha ha full welsh breakfast 🐋🍳doesn’t sound right ! Loved that rant 😂 safe travels 🌊🐕🚶
@chaddy861 hey good on ya bro...we wish for you a wonderful year...
Ant on the Rant 😄
@@Capture262 sometimes you gotta be on the rant bro
Stunning...though Rab seemed suitably unimpressed 😂
From the days when we loved engines that much that we gave them names...
@AdeptHavelock yes...what a wonderful thing eh...we can engage with that beauty whenever we chose to....
Keep going Ant and Rab, look forward to watching more of your adventures
@Capture262 thank you my friend...many more to come...gonna be in Wales for a while now
Happy New Year Ant loving the journey footage!
Hey there Charlie, all the very best to you. Glad you like the trip. I feel it may get better as we go along???
Happy New year ant and rab 👍🏻
Hey...all the very best to you bro...
Amazing...
@@paweszymanski9453 yes beautiful it is

@Capture262 thank you...that is the warm up done...
I'd never stepped in quicksand before😮😮😮
Well done mate !! Scotland to Wales 🏴 some dog walk that !! Looking forward to watching the rest of it 💪🏻
@@chaddy861 hey thanks chaddy, I hope all is good for you...all the very best
Congrats on making it to the Welsh border, how long do you think it will take you to complete the coast of Wales? Bill from Cumbria.
Hey there Bill, as rab and I sit here now the welsh coast has been walked...we got to Chepstow on the 7th of august...What a wonderful journey it is..hope you enjoy the vids...ant and rab...
thank you all for your comments...i love to read everyone's ideas and knowledge...much love to you all
Oh man!! I can't believe you made such a journey just to see the surface of this magnificent city. I agree, you need to return and do a proper visit in order to appreciate what is available and what you choose to see. Otherwise, what's the point of your journeying?
Hi Katherine, thanks for your comments, sounds like you may know the area well...Just to clarify our trip is to walk the coast of England and wales. it is a journey of around 3500 miles so we do not have the time to explore places we would like to. maybe we will do that on a future trip...
The immense structure is the Anglican Cathedral the biggest in England. It's really worth going inside ,especially the rooftops offer a brilliant view, not to mention the decor and art inside.
Yes the air vents are for the Mersey Tunnel transport system.
The birds you mention are a kind of cormorant Bella looking to the sea protecting the seafarers and Bertie looking to the land to protect the residents. Legend has it that if these birds disappear the city will dissolve. What possessed you to walk from Bootle to the centre? You could have gotten much closer to the centre no problem. There's so much beauty and hisory to see in this city. Shame you were in so much pain.
Did you post the message back ? Do you know where he threw the bottle in ?
hey there steve, I did post it back but never got a reply, not sure where the bottle went in???
@ thanks for getting back to me bud ... just found your channel... i live along the Coast Road so found your Roa Island to Bardsea fascinating... i'm also from Barrow ( retired Submarine Builder ) so loved your take on the town
@stevemarshall2728 thank you steve...such a wonderful journey we are on. Briefly visiting all these coastal places we have never been to...we are happy you like the vids and hope to hear from you during the rest of our long dog walk...
When I was 15 I went on a pilgrimage to Liverpool Cathedral .I was blown away with the buildings architecture.
What a great pilgrimage, you should do it again...
Lovely, What a magnificent building
Beautiful in there
👀👍🏻
That big brick building you mentioned just happens to be the World,s biggest single brick building!! 👍👍 And that Bascule bridge next to it , has a identical twin Sister on the other side of the river in Birkenhead 🤔🤔🤔
Modern architecture saps the will to live out of you...its so uninspiring. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should...
Totally agree, the new developments around Mann Island and Liverpool 1 are a Disgrace 🫣🫣🫣🫣🫣
😊 loved watching this one pal , I have to agree with you on the beautiful old buildings Vs the shiny Lego style eyesores were forced to see ❤
yes bro, glad you liked it...
Liverbirds are cormorants with seaweed in there mouths
Big up Ant and Rab YNWA
16:00 ventilation for the tunnel
For the new tunnel ( Kingsway) The Old tunnel (Queensway) ventilation shaft is on The Strand 👍👍
