Very impressive how long hoave you been playing for
@veryrandomdude7702 thanks! Always appreciate the positive feedback. I've been playing trumpet for about 20 years, jazz for about 6-10 but I've really only begun to 'unlock' my potential and really understand 'playing the changes' in a way that resonates with me in the past two months. I've spent two decades and I wish I knew one simple thing that works with my approach and skills set. <3
Not bad. Keep learning and keep practicing. Never stop.
heard this and thought it was a transcription of a classic solo. Great work!
Wow, very high praise :) thank you!
i love when yt recommends me gems such as this
Your very kind! Thank you so much <3
Absolutely amazing
:) thanks will! Still lots to be done but the feedback is absolutely motivating :)
sounding great, lovely tone and dynamic control. This all improv? Its great
Oh thank you, awesome to hear. Striving to get there at tempo. Yes :) all improv!
Nice tone
Thank you sir!
Nice. Have you tried it in "the real" tempo?
Not sure what to take from that comment haha I've tried it from 80 all the way to 300 with various results and enjoyment. I prefer playing at faster tempos but it's not necessarily as musical nor as good for learning the changes. I think it can be played over any of those ranges tbh just modifications to the head might be needed at slower tempos.
Don’t even play trumpet and I quite liked this!
sounds very nice great job!
Thank you! Still a work in progress
Beautiful ❤️❤️🔥🔥
Not bad! Keep it up man 😎
Appreciate it!, ironically giant steps demands Itty bitty little ones when it comes to learning it haha
Thank you, this is the way everyone should learn challenging tunes.
Slow n steady haha
Nice lines
Awesome thanks! Second kick at the can so lots of room for improvement :)
I recognize iReal when I hear it
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by that. It's an effective tool.
@@mylescornish2373I think he just found it amusing how he instantly recognized iReal - meaning he’s a fan of it too
@EmmetFettig ooo good point. Thanks :)
@@EmmetFettig that’s exactly right ;)
that’s very impressive!! i’ve been playing for about three years now. do you have any tips to improve range? both low and high?
Absolutely! First tip is that if you can't buzz it on the mouthpiece, it's much more difficult on the horn. If you'd like, we can set up a virtual lesson and discuss rates through e-mail :) Otherwise, I can paste together a few tips in a video and share it on UA-cam. They would be generic though and lack customization for you.
@@mylescornish2373 thank you!! i can buzz pretty well and i use it as part of my daily warm up. i’m transitioning to a new school and over the summer i want to increase my range for marching band. i would prefer some videos with sheet music to help follow along if that’s no trouble. i just don’t have a fellow trumpet player to talk to! thanks for it all!!
@payphonequarters sounds good, do you know what your highest note is you can buzz on your mouthpiece?
@@mylescornish2373 i’m not sure. i think it’s pretty bad. like the first A above the staff..
@@payphonequarters that's not too shabby at all. What about playing through the horn? About an A as well?
Just great playing!
Much Appreciated!! :)
Sounds awesome!!!! Very impressive
Nice improv :) I like that it’s not just noodling but you’re trying to put some phrases in there
Appreciate those nice words, thanks for stopping in!
I'm trying to be like you
Keep it up!
Yassirrr!! Thx for stopping in :)
Dang you played well. Right with it. That’s my Achilles .. but I’m working on it
Appreciate the positive feedback. Keep at it, breakthroughs are always just around the corner <3
It’s a beautiful piece, it feels good to listen to! You played gorgeously
Thank you kindly, and thanks for taking a quick moment to listen!
@@mylescornish2373 You're welcome.
