I deleted discord (took many fake "friends" and creeps on there), instagram, tiktok, it's just nice not having that in my life anymore. i just use pinterest and youtube. whenever i tell people i don't use social media they look at me crazy because it's just the norm now to use all that, hopefully things will change with that

I wonder how people uses social media but without a mental breakdown, they're so resilient. maybe they need to give advise on how to maintain a healthy mind or something. cause as soon as I open instagram and look at the first picture, depression and anxiety kicks in

I remember this and now thinking about it I’ve been feeling this exact thing like i just think scrolling through pages worrying what others think being obsessed with it and wanting to do my own thoughts and apart of me feels like maybe i shouldn’t do it especially if i i don’t feel like i should put my self out there and that i think that social media was a mistake maybe i should consider it. I think it was messed up that the media tried to say that Tom Holland was having a mental breakdown witch is messed up because i think everyone else is having mental breakdowns on the internet imo. The one year i was off of social media i actually felt really good an even about my stuff so its actually more of a stress relief for you.. There is something things i still want to adres on certain sensitive subjects like i hate all the anti LGBTQ stuff going around but i don’t want to be too obsessed either..

Not making money from worthless banal content isnt my problem. As for hardwiring our children into 21st century life. Its already happened. The teachers tell you at school to "limit screen time". But they're teaching them with computers. Issuing homework on a computer. Doing exams on a computer. That is the biggest problem we have with our children. We live in a world where kids are consumers whether they like it or not. Big tech.social media. School all of them are guilty of ramming it down our kids necks. Telling them what to think feel learn and know when THEY dictate the time is right. There's very few so called content creators who aren't part of the problem. The kids are in a dire situation. And the reality is that they have NO attention span thanks to short form vids across all platforms. The days of man against man on the battlefield are over. The war has been waged on future generations of children. Of which were seeing the consequences of now. It's easy to point the finger at china. But the beast from the east has already begun war against the west. They've turned our children's minds into mashed potato whilst their children learn to master new technology and continue to produce on all levels including Science, Math and the arts. With the help of social media, they've destroyed the concept of critical thinking en masse in our kids. And the government allows this through Slack legislastion. Just my opinion. Successive western governments are complicit in this war against our children for allowing the constitution to be applied in defense of big business instead of the young. Blaming unscrupulous foreign governmentsis one thing. But iur own government is equally responsible. They're just as guilty.

I deleted my social media vice (Instagram) after my dog died over a year ago and haven’t been back and it’s honestly been a great decision

I'm a 11th grader being part of this gen Z but I can proudly say that it's been 2+ years since I've quit social media and games. I use UA-cam for motivation only. Let me tell you my experience, you may feel disconnected from world may lose plenty of social media fake friends but you can instead do things in reality, my scores got better at school, my mind got more focused on things, I go to gym regularly, I read financial knowledge books and my life is going as I want it to be. When i looked back at my friends who are still using social media playing games they all are rather getting worse at their performance or stuck as they were. Those who thinks that those people are stupid who delete their social media quit playing games, think twice who is the one stupid here.
