For 5 years, Chris and Paul built a fantastic following of subscribers, who eagerly awaited each Friday for the latest video to drop, documenting the vehicle builds, adventures, and beer tales coming from Paul’s garage.
So much time, effort, and dedication take their toll. For still yet unknown reasons, the pair went their separate ways.
I recently discovered Paul had decided to delete the Channel. Not only was it 5 years of hard work and expense, but it also became a fantastic resource for fellow off-road enthusiasts and Overlanders. It was always enjoyable to sit back with a beer and be reminded of the fun times we shared and the adventures we had.
With that in mind, I decided to set up the Channel again and load up all the videos we created.
I do plan to return - both Angela and I are set on building a capable camper/motorhome in the not-to-distant future. When I do, I plan to rename everything “Chester’s Chop Shop”, in memory of my incredible dog, Chester, who I lost in 2021.

I was burdened with some very difficult family drama, ultimately ending up with me having to sell the Mitsubishi L200, and moving all my life belongings, including all the newly purchased welding gear, plasma torch, and compressor, into a 20ft shipping container, where it still resides as I upload these videos.
Paul began attending shows on his own, traveling with new people, and has started his own UA-cam Channel documenting his ongoing build of Beryl, the Defender. I’m sure in the near future he’ll add more exciting projects and adventures of his own. You can find him over at Adventure365.
Unfortunately, I recently discovered Paul had decided to delete the Channel, which I found very upsetting. Not only was it 5 years of hard work and expense, but it also became a fantastic resource for fellow off-road enthusiasts and Overlanders. It was always enjoyable to sit back with a beer and be reminded of the fun times we shared and the adventures we had.
I am also conscious of the great support we were shown by our sponsors and the fact they would use our videos not only to promote their fantastic products but also as a great aid in fitting and using what they sold.
With that in mind, I decided to set up the Channel again and load up all the videos we created. It’s an enormous job, with nearly 300 videos, but I hope it will be appreciated by both old and new subscribers alike.
I do plan to return - both Angela and I are set on building a capable camper/motorhome in the not-to-distant future, and for the time being, I’m still trying to hold onto Red Five - the 1998 Land Rover Discovery 300tdi, with a view to once again, cut the rot out, fit the fantastic LongRanger kit, and make it a serious off-roader - cos let’s face it, we’re ever closer to that Zombie Apocalypse!! When I do, I plan to rename everything “Chester’s Chop Shop”, in memory of my incredible dog, Chester, who I lost in 2021.

What about boos pin
Have you noticed any difference in fuel mileage with 2,8 injectors and the twin inlet manifold. I am soon ready with my rebuilding of my truck.
When can I buy the twin air intake system
Where can I buy the twin air take system
Please fix the double electrical outlet. It's dangerous
What happend to TEAM OVERLAND???
I get mixed reports about the twin inlet manifold. Some say they don't se much difference so it isn't worthy the cost. I don't know yet if I will bother. Isn't that Hi lift on the bonnet illegal?
When I put it on my xtrail that’s black raptored I found when it rained there was an oily residue on the car. Did you find this?
Hi there, Where do you get these tents from please?
Hi, I have just replaced my lift pump as per my video on my channel but I didn’t put in the spacer I wasn’t aware of it even thou my new pump came with it. I can’t see how by moving the lever away from the cam actually helps anything. I would think it would make the pump less efficient in my view as the cam won’t be touching the lever.
Discovery 1 😍
Hi, nice video😊 where can I buy the manifold? also used thanks regards
Discovery 1 😍
What sae of that oil you use
and now im sat here looking at my d2 with an angle grinder next to me
Hi, whats the maximum amount of power the engine can make with this inlet manifold, a VNT and an intercooler? Thanks
@raptorsgarage will it work for 200tdi as well in D1 ??? Thanks
it will be working with ESR4650 or PNH102120 pipes from td5 land rover
@raptorsgarage will it work for 200tdi as well in D1 ??? Thanks
it will be working with ESR4650 to get some additional offset.
Loved the video. I have made a list what at I needed for my 300tdi..
You guys are amazing 👍👍👍🍺🍺🍺
You rock!
De best build I have seen, is it possible to have the cruise control working on the disco with the M57 installed.
Did the engine had a reduction on the amount of black smoke produced?
How stupid, didn’t even use the new boost controller.
OK Chris and Paul I am on the cusp of buying a second hand TuffTrek Overland (like yours) but I have heard that if you are over 5'9 the bed length can be a bit short. Can you comment on the length issue at all or are you short enough for this nbot to have been an issue? My partner is 6' . Cheers
As above, where’s part 8 ?
Hi. Would you guys have a map route you took?
It’s a good upgrade but the twin tube to the inlet plenum should have equal length tubes as you not gaining the balanced flow that your looking for
as long as the y-piece is divided equally it shouldn't be a problem.
The two pins are different. One with a rubber sheath, one without.
Did this project get scrapped can’t seem to find pt 8 or the finished product
What's hybred turbo set up? Im thinking about going way in the future
16:12 November 7, 2023. I put an intake gasket on a 1997 disco. It will not crank at all. Any suggestions.
Thats nice looking, can I ask have you got any ideas on how to remove raptor/bedliner. Its been put on my Defender 90 by cowboys, before I bought it. Would like it done again. Any idea would be useful thanks
That's a massive difference and high
Mate you need and under non net noise dampeners they are awesome
Awesome video. Keep it up!
Cleanest most oil leak free 300tdi I think I’ve seen😂
My 97 90 300TDI Pick-up, Peggy, runs great completely stock, being the Yin to your Yang when it comes to weight lol. She runs great stock and well serviced, giving 30 MPG. I could easily run taller tyres she's drivable in 5th at 30mph, but I tow my carvan, as opposed to having a house on her back, so keep her factory. Your new inlet manifold mod seems a very logical step even on standard set up. My intercooler is looking a bit passed it, would you suggest an ideal replacement to work with the twin inlet manifold please. I can tig weld and am tempted to make one, but it would be much easier to buy it. Also do you need to send your old manifold back exchange, so they can make another ? Oh, and does your Landy also have a name ? Landyloon in Aberdoon 😃
How the hell is that a 2" lift? It looks like 6".
Hi, what is the name of the toilet... Bivi Lou? Bivi what? Thx for help.
Bivvy Loo
Love these videos. Too few informative videos on tdi tuning. Thanks a mill lads!
Any chance of a link to the rtc video had a look and I can’t find it
no rust problem ?
First came across one of these Glind Shower Kits back in 2012 doing the Simpson Desert treck in Australia, brilliant piece of kit especially after long days winching and digging yourself out the sand on hot days, or just to have a shower and freshen up after 2 or 3 days free camping. Been keeping my eyes open for a second hand Heat Exchanger kit for a couple years, and two popped up on Facebook Marketplace this week, one a Twine Heat Exchanger the other the full Glind kit same as yours, so hoping to pick-up one this week for half the retail price here in Aust.
I just scored a full kit in a case for FREE, took a 2.5hr round trip drive up to Sunshine Coast to collect, but was well worth the time to get this amazing piece of kit!
You ever going to make your own videos?
you should put a sticker on the bonnet that says "STRANGE ROVER"😀 awesome work and great craftmanship
Hi looking to get an awning do you have any links or contacts on where to buy the armadillo please it looks great
San Miguel in a can? glass, beer is served in a glass ... usually a bottle, which is made from glass. You'll be drinking that supermarket shite that is sold in 2 litre plastic bottles next. now back to the side story: That is the part missing from my engine, hopefully it will cure the plume of black smoke from low down torque
say NO to carpet lining. Carpet lining is for VW T4 and T5 owners who do not know any better, or for campervan converters looking for cheap interiors. Vinyl lining in a cab is jet washable, try the same with carpet lining.. Vinyl material is available in many textures and colours .... have a google.
Hey, does the spacer serve its purpose? My Fuel Pump is leaking and I am thinking about to fit a spacer in my new one. Greetings from Germany
LOOK LOOK!!!! BEER!!!!!
