Had food stolen from my cryo freezer and other items started being listed for 1 cap and stolen for 1 cap whilst i was on server in my camp.

Yesterday. I fast traveled to scorched earth. As I spawned in a player to also spawned in right before me was entering his power armor. Right before he got in I was able to view all his pieces to loot. Not sure if I was able to because I didn't. But a potential bug

This is why i have locked my fault and built my camp in a place no one goes to . Also stash is at max so yup .from what i know as long as your vendor is not connected to power it helps to . just a heads up . Also put weapon skins on your items since it makes them un trade able. just some tips if anyone is wondering about losing stuff. That’s what i have done since this bug hit on the pc a few years ago .

Thanks, good and informative. In my 2200 hours I never traded with anyone because the absence of trade system. All my 10 characters are full on caps so I don't need to trade with current vendors anyway.

:) Its gone...Sent a Ticket. (missing Holy Fire on the wall and Mothman Cultist outfits on my maniquins.) Nothing too serious. Everything can be replaced over time.

This an old glitch that was around since beta watch your camp and make sure no one builds too close they can use their stash to steal from you and dont put your stash too close to your vendor.

I have yet to have theft happen on me outside junk loot stolen off me from unwanted pvp at workshop claiming. But whether or not this exploit/glitch exists, I’ve just recently taken three vendor slots to replace with zero weight items at the max Cap range. I may add more later to the items in question (Blue Ridge Cargo, You’ve Been Insulted!, and Ceremonial Moth Candle). Rather be safe than sorry since I got a few rare apparel items and only one single Glowing Scorchbeast Mask.

All of my moths and cryptid cards in their displays disappeared.

If anything of mine got stolen, I would finally have space in my stash...

Keep your stash box more than two floor tiles from your vendor.

I've got stuff that cannot be obtained anymore like the box of shooting targets and legacy weapons such as +15% reload speed on melee weapons.

not a glitch there are hack for it.

It's a video game. Filled with digital stuff that means nothing and people out here like their bank account got hacked and their real money was taken. This is gonna come as a real shock but one day Bethesda is gonna turn off the lights and every 76 player will lose everything. Go touch grass.

This is unfortunatly very real. I farm meat buffs and stash them in my Military Cryo freezer. I NEVER SELL FOOD. Somehow a player baught My Smoked Scortchbeast lungs for the minimum cap price it was like 30 caps... It wasent a big loss but the problem is i dont sell my meats i put them in my freezer..... Fortunately (knocks on wood) I haven't lost anything valuable, only the random food item that has somehow transferred from my freezer to my vendor.

I knew someone had taken a plan for nothing yet it had said they purchased the item they kept spamming buying a single bullet at 1 cap when this happened

I've been max capped and looted from my vendor. Took all my plans for free. While I was in an event.

At least now with the vendor history, you might might be able to pinpoint who it was that stole your stuff maybe???

Another tip to avoid it is have your vender in a different room or area to the stash box. It's easy to lag servers so u can switch between the 2 items and glitch your way into another person's inventory

Ive done it once i was doing exactly what he was saying an i almost sold a couple of unlearned plans that took all season to get an yea .. unless u have fallout 1st to go private to do camp builds or vendor list or maybe build a wall around u or something lmao i dunno.😂😂😂😂 oh an the collectron glitch u know... not fun.

Yeah but the teammate glitch still works as of 2025. Watch out for teammates at your camp in your vendors.

I heard not to have a stack box on or merged with a vendor I ran into one like that and it looks like I could buy and remove items

What I've seen some people try to do at times is to buy 1 item at a time for 1 cap, so if you have 1000pcs 5.56 ammo for example they start buying 1 ammo at a time for 1 cap to try to trigger this error. But... I'm not sure if the bug is still there.. I saw a couple of users trying to do this last week on Xbox though. However, I can recommend that you should have one item at 40k cap in each category in you vendor should make this glitch non-existant. :)

I do remember this being a legit glitch, but haven't heard of anyone suffering from it since launch.

I have some rare apparel in my stash including a Fallout 4 exclusive Hunter's Long Coat. And i have 0 items stolen in my stash.

Seems like a conspiracy theory to me. Also, wouldn't simply not having a vendor be the best way to prevent this?

Meh. With the ability to craft our own legendaries four-star gear now I don't need to keep as many special items in my camp I want something I just make it

When I was warned about this glitch, I was also told to put Bobby pins at max caps, & also never to have your vendor set up near your stash box.. not sure how true but I just keep my stash box 3 floors away minimum..

i might have. But not sure. Seen some items like bulk soled for 1 cap despite the lowest being rated at 2 and the next lowest at 6. also the only thing that is rare in my store is the perfectly preserved my which i already sell for the below average price. i don't remember what tho 1-2 caps ore 1-99 caps since nothing in my shop exceeded the 99 price. When am back from my vacation, make sure to come and visit me At the 99 Cap store near Camden park, am usually doing my daily challenges in the morning at GMT+ 2 bulk keeps being sold out to such extent i keep needing to some times close the shop to restock. Am also selling legendary mods and legendary armors at max 50 caps. i thank you all who will fund my goal of buying all the plans from NPC vendors. 😵‍💫 they are so expensive. Wish the in game wallet was bigger.

Oh this glitch was an actual thing, but it was also an actual hack on pc which allowed you to look at player inventory and take what they have on them.

Also never have max items in your stash box and never max out your budget in you camp more tips to the wise.

I know this exists as well as a new ammo bug as well where I have my loot screen open and I see my loot and my ammo disappears while I am looking at the loot screen has epic weapons' do the same. Also another tip if you have fallout 1st go to your private world to do your price changes. I also never have items that are to low priced

regurgitated ragebait. players claiming other people "stole" their items in hopes that the devs will refund them stuff they never had is the oldest trick in the book. people saying stuff on reddit is as about as far from evidence as you can get. take your free engagement and get blocked 😉
