Hopefully, I am not too late for the 2024 solar eclipse :) You can take any piece of glass, just be careful and mindful of the sharp edges. As you smoke the glass, the flame must touch the surface of the glass. Move it gently around making a wide area that will block sunlight. After watching the eclipse or taking ...

Merry Christmas to you and your family ❤ ❤❤
Thank you
I have the same hammer drill. It works awesome!
Yes, I was using the same tool to brake many stones on my property. I am planning to post some videos soon, showing its capabilities.
🎉
Its very beautiful
Thanks ❤❤❤
Thank you very mach :)
We’ll remove it soon 😊
Yes we will :)
Thank you so much, been having a headache for days now from a few minutes of wearing airpods, it's actually insane
You are very welcome, it drove me crazy too
Thank you very much! I hate adaptive mode and noise cancellation mode can still have loud noise bleed through.
You are welcome, glad I was able to help. Cheers
I’ve been struggling so much thank you man.
I was in your shoes, you are very welcome.
Thanks man!!
You are welcome.
Why not just break the rock with the feather and wedges in the first place? Thats what they are for.
Great question! I actually tried using wedges to split larger pieces, but it didn’t quite work out. In one of my videos, I’m working on a rock that’s about 4-4.5 feet tall. Eager for quick results, I started with wedges, but they just couldn’t handle that size. Heftier wedges might have done the trick, but they’d require larger diameter drill bits, which would mean a more powerful hammer drill. I actually rented a heavy-duty hammer drill and rented one from Home Depot with a 1.5-inch drill bit. And even then, it took about 30 minutes to drill a 5-inch-deep hole. That’s when I decided to give Dexpan a try. When I drill a 12-inch hole and fill it with Dexpan, it works like a 12-inch “wedge” that applies pressure evenly along the entire length of the hole, not just the top. This makes it much easier to split large pieces and gives better control over the split direction. For smaller rocks, I still use my feathers and wedges, and they work perfectly! Cheers!
Thnx man!!!
you are welcome
Hey Timur, what drill are u using and which machine, can you recommend, something pls, i want to destroy some stones o raod to my country house next year
Sure. More details in the description to the video and links to Amazon store. But here is a drill I used - BOSCH GBH2-28L 1-1/8" SDS-plus Bulldog Xtreme Max Rotary Hammer . And I used 2 drill bits - I started with BOSCH HC2107 5/8 In. x 16 In. x 18 In. Bulldog SDS-Plus Rotary Hammer Bit and enlarged the hole with BOSCH HC2127 3/4 in. x 16 in. x 18 in. Bulldog SDS-Plus Rotary Hammer Bit. Wishing you luck with your project. I am planning soon to post new video about new project.
Why would you do all that work to get a flake? I'm confused
@@privateprivate5928 it looks like a flake, but it’s very heavy, and I can handle it.
Quelle belle promenade! Merci beacoup pour la vidéo!
Je vous en prie.
Great video. Did you use water to cool the bit? And did you drill 3/4" right away or use the 5/8" first?
Thank you. I used 3/4 right away and did not use water to cool bits. I did not show in this video, but I have 3 or 4 bits and I used them sequentially. I used the first one for about a minute, and then place it on a rock to cool and used the second one. Then the third, forth, and then the first one again, the second and so on. This way you don't overheat drills and prolong their usefulness. Also, I did not push too hard, just very slightly. Hopefully, it helps. Cheers
Thanks for the info. I tried drilling a similar looking boulder with a dewalt cordless dch293b. Ate 2 batteries in 2 8in 3/4" holes. Milwaukee 4 point bit. So trying to get more mileage out of the drill and bits. Will try multiple bits and/or look at a water cooling setup. How long did it take per hole on yours? Thanks.
@@MrBoatside, you are welcome. With a used bit, it took me about 6 minutes per hole 3/4 bit. By the way here is a link to another video where I use bits in chain (ua-cam.com/video/8Ha-PpC90V4/v-deo.html) I am not sure if water cooling system won't make your bits rusty or weak. Cheers
Nice illustration of what dexpan will do and how you drilled it. I did not catch what you used to plug the holes?
Thank you. I did not use anything to plug holes, you wouldn't need it. Just fill holes with the material. Only in case if you are expecting a rain, you can cover all holes with a plastic bag, making sure your mixture will not get diluted. Cheers
This is a wonderful idea!!!
Thank you very much. Since childhood, I've learned this method to watch solar eclipses. Cheers
That dam fish factory is a eye sore my gram worked there when she was a kid that was the 50s
Hey, I hope that did not bring bad memories. Nowadays, there is practically nothing left out of the factory. Now it is the best dive site in the north-east, albeit it is getting more and more baring. Cheers
@@todivetodayoh no you didn’t she tells me story’s of how the fish factory was haunted and if you looked in the door you would see a workers helmet so I believed her but anyways it’s a eye sore from the wacko and Quartey bay to it was kinda cool that they were going to try to turn it in to a “five star Hotel” and just a question can u see it from Rosies? Been awhile sense I’ve been in Eastport don’t go over there much only Pembroke and Calais
No,@@Hubs-d3f, you can't see it standing at Rosie's hot dog stand, the street serves. I must say that I love going to Eastport, I even contemplate the idea of getting a small place there. It is my favorite place to visit, even during the winter, and to dive. By the way, this winter (2024) for the first time I saw such big waves, that it may have been a record. I'll send you a note when I post it, it was quite a spectacle, you wouldn't recognize the place. Cheers
@@todivetoday ok can’t wait to see it!
🔥 *promo sm*
What does “promo sm” mean? Thanks
very nice
Knew a stone mason that split all his own granite in the winter to set in the summer. He drilled holes along the face and early winter filled them with water and corked them off. He would soon have multiple layers of granite to work.
Yes, it is a good technique if it air temperature drops below 32F or 0C. Water can expend 9% of its volume, which is plenty to crack a rock. Cheers
Which dexpan type you use?
Type 1. Sorry for the delayed response.
Totally agree, just wish I had found these earlier!

Sunlight…
There are types of this material. What is the difference between red, green and blue?
thank you. Sorry for getting back so late. But I never got any notifications about left comments. It is most likely my mistake, I'll check why I do not get 'em. Cheers My understanding, the difference between the three types of materials is the outside temperatures that aforementioned material can be applied. some can be used when it's very hot outside, and some when it's colder. Cheers
I agree, direct sunlight confuses the infrared sensors. It’s better to clean in the middle of the day or evening when less direct Sun is on your floors.
I beg to disagree. Он а1:27 it is out from the sunlight, but it's still confused.
@todivetoday docking location needs improvement, move it further away from the wall and let it clean with no direct sunlight on floors and it will do well
It’s the sunlight trapping the robot. UV light from the sun confuses the infrared, a lot of budget robots do this. Docking station is a strange one and no doubt will get a firmware update, try moving it further away from side wall as docks don’t like them to much when it comes to emptying
My SDS plus Bosch Makita drill bit keep on breaking even if I pour water , can I use pointed chisel bit to make hole ?
I would not pour water on a hot tip. My technique to minimize the heat of the tip and prolong its service life - is to change bits often. I do not push too hard, when I drill, giving a chance to a drill to do its work. A minute later I remove the drill, place it on the rock, and in the meantime, I insert the second drill. A minute later, I repeat the process and inserted a third drill. Then I return to the first one and so on. I would not recommend using water on a hot drill bit tip. Cheers
That looks like a Bosch rotary hammer drill. What model? What was the rock type- basalt - granite. If it was either of those two it was amazing. I am trying to drill granite with a Chinese rotary hammer drill and start with a small 3/16" drill working my way up to 5/8" for inserting wedges and feathers. However I keep ending up with mushroom tips on my drill bits as they melt in the rock.
You need to keep the drill tip cool by drizzling water in.
Sorry for getting back so late. I never got any notifications about left comments. It is most likely my mistake, I'll check how to get them in time. The unit I used is BOSCH GBH2-28L 1-1/8" SDS-plus Variable-speed Bulldog Xtreme Max Rotary Hammer. I do not know what time of a rock I worked with, but I think it is a granite. Buy a high quality drill bit and don't do a pilot hole. Just do the 5/8 straightaway. Don't push the drill any more than necessary, let the drill do the hammering
@@leeknivek Since my original post I got a Bosch rotary hammer drill similar to yours. Also I bought some wedge and feathers 1" and of course a 1" rock bit. I am unstoppable now and spend my days finding rocks to crack. Just get the right tools and the job is easy.
how much the dexpan
For all these holes I used about a pound of the material and I was adding some water until I got homogeneous mixture. Sorry for the late response.
Good job, I'm surprised that you got such a good result with such small hole diameter.
Are you Ukrainian?
It already had a big starter crack. Why didn't you start there?
All I could think about as the video started was “nice place to start the project right there.” If it wasn’t a time sensitive project and was in a zone that regularly freezes in winter, I would have just worked with water and makeshift wedges to make that crack do the work for me

Wait. What is hanging from the mirror?
Heat lime rock in kennel. Then take the white chunks out that is now called calcium oxide. Add a little baking soda to slow the reaction and just add water and you to will crack some rocks, or make plaster or many other things with this old formula for quick Lye.
Hey the way to make rock splitting expander is Put Lime rock in at least 800 degrees for about 10 hours and the lime should be all white and then you got Calcium oxide. Add some baking soda to slow the reaction down and when you add water it expands and splits the rock. After water is added it becomes calcium hydroxide BTW. 🐢
Glad I'm not the only one taking on what seems like an impossible task. Mind blowing how well this stuff works. Where in MA are you I grew up there and live in southern NH
I was going to comment on the Red plate myself.

Wow nice👍
Great work! 👍
How to break stones, rocks using Dexpan type 3 Depending on the weather, and the temperature of the stone/rock the expansion, usually, takes about 24 hours. Sometimes, it takes more than 48 hours to see the substantial crack. The technique that I developed for myself is the following; I usually make the first hole using a 5/8 of an inch drill bit. And then I enlarge this hole by the 3/4 inch, in the video, you can see that the first hole goes much slower than the following one. This way it's much easier for Bosch to drill a smaller hole and then to enlarge it with 3/4. Plus 5/8 inch is also much chipper than 3/4 and I while I drill holes, I change drill bits often, allowing them to cool. In 1989, I used a similar product called Bristar to do a 20' x 40' x 2' piece of ledge. I drilled 2 1/4" holes on a 2' on center pattern. It took 3 days with a pneumatic drill and I used 5 cases of Bristar. It worked good too. I learned that you should cover the holes because sometimes the top plug fails and it shoots out. I just used flat rocks on top of the holes to keep the plugs from flying far. Good Luck, Rick
Thank you, Rick, nice to know
