Brilliant 👏 Thanks for sharing.
That''s terrific Eriks, these are handy things for running accessories.
Got a file? I’d love to print one!! I’m wanting to start on a 3D printed working simple thresher.
There's a timeless simplicity to a steam engine. It can use about any source of heat for power as opposed to internal combustion engines.
👍👍👍👍😊😊❤
I like the painted cycliner and beam (the same colour as the flywheel) - not all versions of this kit that I've seen have this and I think it makes a significant improvement to the look.
I didn't like the way the engine looked, as the original bright red flywheel made it look like a toy so the easy fix was to add some burgandy colour to a few key places.
@@eriks2480 It works so well, I'm thinking about copying your approach. Would you mind telling me the colour and paint manufacturer that you used and which undercoat you needed? Thank you.
@@nbrandart5094 It was Humbrol Enamel - colour number 20 - Crimson Gloss. Applied 2 coats with a small brush. I didn't use any undercoat as I've always found this paint sticks very well.
@@nbrandart5094 I used Humbrol Enamel - colour number 20 - Crimson Gloss. Applied two coats with a small brush. I didn't use a primer as I find this paint works really well by itself for small jobs like this.
@@eriks2480 Thank you, that's so helpful, noted.
Ohne Öl???😱😱😱😱😱 Viele Grüsse aus Germany
I like the solid-looking crankshaft mount, and the steam pipe union to allow easy disconnection of engine from boiler. Sounds good!
bloody lovely engine
❤
Show everyone how to charge your batteries for alternative energies with it .
Always remember to check out the safety valve as they can stick with age and a burst boiler even of this size could scald anyone sitting nearby!
That's a very good point to mention, and is something that I always check on any steam engine before firing it.
Beautiful little engine.
A very interesting old steamer! 👍
Aneh tapi nyata.
Electricity generation :D
Cool engine
Superb. It runs very well, much better than mine, and looks great
Thanks John, I found that it needs to have the burner flame set a bit on the hot side to keep the steam supply up to that oversize piston.
Beautiful engine, well done. Nice to see one in color instead of the b&w photos in the book.
wonderful!
❤❤❤
Nice looking Weeden. I have an older one, works but not very clean.
Very interesting video. Nice engine👍
It runs ! 😀👍 are you using alcohol for fuel ?
It's alcohol, but here in Australia we call it Methylated Spirits, or "Metho" for short.
Vodka!!!😂😂😂😂😂 Viele Grüsse aus Germany
I love the extra paint you have added….it adds to the look of the model👍
I was amazed by the colour after I cleaned off the grime.
My engine was almost a wreck when I got it. You can see more details on the rebuild here: www.tapatalk.com/groups/modelsteam/bing-10-116-1-restoration-t120501.html
@@eriks2480 awesome, I'll check it out. I cleaned the years of grime from mine, checked it over and fired it up. Kicked up easily. Didn't run as fast as yours and was a bit oily and messy around the piston. Hopefully you'll have some pointers in there that'll help me. Gimme time and I'll upload a video so you can see it. Haven't uploaded anything ever so be patient. Also I'm a bit Aspergersy and am easily distracted so don't be shy to nudge.
@traviscaines8534 If an engine hasn't been run for many years it can be a bit gummed up, best fix is to steam it several times. It will loosen up and start to run better.
I have the identical engine!!!!!!
Do you have a video of it some where on youtube?
No I don't. I've only recently cleaned it up and got it running. It was my grandfather's. I found it in his shed when I was cleaning up after grandma passed away. It is missing the light bulb socket and needs a drive belt everything essential is there.
Lovely engine
Just finished my build. Runs very freely ,take care in assembly.I was delighted to find the governor works and has some adjustment.looking for sensibly priced stuff it can drive. Super job from engine diy.
It is immaculate 👍
Literally straight off the production line 😀
Above Satisfactory engine
Great to see it running slow like they should be
do you make the boilers yourself
These were commercially made model engines made in the USA. No longer in production but 2nd hand engines come up for sale on ebay all the time. You can also see more examples here: www.toysteambible.org.uk/steam_engine-Empire.htm?id=1138
beautiful engine
What is the time autonomy?
About 10 minutes
Nice 👍. How does the valving on that work ?
It's known as a wobbler steam engine. The cylinder wobbles up and down and while it's moving either lets steam in or out. These are very common in model steam engines. If you google "How a wobbler steam engine works" you'll find lots of videos that will explain it better than me.
@@eriks2480 thanks man, I'll look into it . I'm thinking about building one
@nathantrost7773 Get yourself a copy of the book called "Building Simple Model Steam Engines" by Tubal Cain, it includes easy to follow details for several engines to make. This is one that I made following one of the plans in the book: ua-cam.com/video/EzgnuaZD7aA/v-deo.html I can also recommend joining the "Unofficial Mamod Forum" as people there are always building, repairing and tinkering with model steam engines: www.tapatalk.com/groups/modelsteam/ It's a very friendly group and I've learnt a lot from just seeing what other people are doing and it's a good place to ask questions if you don't understand or get stuck on something.
Wow what a beautiful and wonderful you re,a,, brilliant idea thanks 🙏 for you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤❤❤❤❤❤
It´s a beauty!
So cool 😎
cute
Elegant use of a tube through the boiler to support the crankshaft.
Amazing to see a connecting rod move that quickly.
Very cool engine
