End Table Build - custom walnut table with round top.
This was a custom order for a client and I was given some creative license for the overall look of the piece as long as it met the size requirements and had a round top. I like how it turned out! I ended up putting a shelf midway up on top of the stretchers and I wish I had some additional footage of that process and end result, but no luck. I ended up buffing in some Feed-n-shine wood conditioner over the top of the Osmo Polyx-oil to give it a little extra shine before delivering the piece.

Under $200, all-in. Review of Wen 8"x12" lathe (6+ year review). The right starter lathe?
Переглядів 1,7 тис.14 днів тому
Disclaimer: I am not a woodturner. I am a complete amateur turner, self-taught, with more bad habits than a nun on laundry day. I've had this Wen for over 6 years and I've tinkered with many little projects, but I am looking forward to one day upgrading my lathe game. In the meantime, this is a review of this inexpensive tool and an overview of how I make a basic wood bowl.

Nice build bud 👍 Way to flex on the clamps though, red for panel glue ups, blue for leg glue ups, toggles for hold downs on the taper jig, yellow for extra caul support, It was also amazing for me to watch you cut that walnut with no mask, I have a horrible reaction to walnut and my wife yells at me every time I have a sniffle start "You were working with walnut again, weren't you?" HA!

@@rubecountryman Thanks! I wasn’t even thinking about all the clamps 😂- but I do need to use them together with their own group otherwise their heights don’t line up for glue-ups. I should be better at always using my dust mask, but with the dust extractor running and the overhead air filtration running AND the garage doors open with a fan blowing away from me, it makes for a very tolerable environment.

I’ve seen some jigs that guys build that basically shape a box around the board - which allows them to quickly run the juice groove around the whole board.
