Best way to finish off the Sean 1 more year running for 2024 was to run the Lanzarote Marathon and take a short family break join me and Jr as we run along the Lanzarote coast line from Costa Teguise , Arrecife , Playa Honda onto Matagorsa and back again on this 42km course, did it all go according to plan...?

This video is a look at what it's like being a 5hr Irish Life Dublin Marathon race pacer on the big day. This is when i decided i would give running 1 more year said goodbye to the old year and hello to a new @Sean1moreyearrunning let's see what 2024 will hold
Well I think that was a hard earned marathon Sean! Dublin, Athens and now Lanzarote no wonder your legs wanted to be on the sun lounger with the family bringing you drinks! Not only that but seemed to be hilly too and as I know from visiting Lanzarote it is a very windy island. Hopefully they will reinstate the Gran Canaria marathon next year as it wasn’t run this year. Having run the previous 2 it is a good 2 lap course which you would enjoy and maybe just maybe if it is on next November you could pace be to the sub 5 hour time that would give me good for age. Finally love your genuine videos and hope you recover well and have a good family Christmas.

Tough run Sean, well done on a hilly course and after Dublin as well.
Just found your video and have subscribed as I found it so enjoyable to see a video not aimed at the quick runners. I am 73 having returned to running 3 years ago after 30 years and have been so frustrated to find training plans aimed at my age or pace now. Having run 14 marathons yesteryear with a 3.09 best I have tried to break the 5 hour barrier in the last 2.years to give me good for age and have only achieved 5.40 and 5.20 which has left me so disappointed. My best half marathon since come back is 2.12. I would love to know your age, training schedules as this may help me motivational wise and I must say how pleased I was to see the 3 of you pacers running close together and taking time splits to seriously. Finally thank you once again and whilst it is nice to see other UA-camrs running fast times so little is aimed at the 5 hourish mark or the older runner. Well done and keep posting maybe with half marathons etc!
Hi @trevorlangridge thank you so much for your kind words, that is an impressive record 3.09 but even more impressive is coming back after 30 years to run the marathon distance at 5.40, 5.20 and 2.12 half great running congratulations. I'm not a running coach of any description i just like to run i have run a 4.10 and 4.20 marathon but the majority of my 34 marathons are at the 5hr and i am happy at that it's my comfort zone i run twice a week 5k - 10k and maybe 21k Sunday if i get out, no great master plan i just like it, what i do take seriously is the 5hr pacers job that i am lucky enough to do in Dublin the past few years, it's not my run but the people around me run that's the way i look at it. so happy you like the video i'm new at it and have plans to run many more marathons and half as well. Keep on running P.S I'm 57
Belated thanks Sean for your reply. I’ve seen the Athens video which I enjoyed and those long gradual hills must have taken quite a lot of effort. Have you future plans regarding marathons and is the UK an option maybe in the new year. Keep on with the videos and I am sure more will subscribe.

@ Best wishes to you at Lanzarote next week and hope the weather is kind and not too windy. I have returned from Gran Canaria 3 weeks ago and it would have been ideal with temps around the low 70’s sometimes cloud cover and occasional drizzle unlike the last 2 years at this time where I ran the marathon in temperatures high 70’s early 80’s both years which didn’t help me trying for 5 hours 5.40 & 5.20 respectively. Would like to hear how your race goes. Safe journey and thanks for the reply.
