Thank you for sharing this knowledge, my brother. I just bought a Sabar drum and need to cover it with the skin. I'm wordering if I choose not to braid these ropes over the sticks, the tune will be working the same way? I mean, is that just for matter of aesthetics or I really need to put these ropes?
