Hello! I love to make wire wrap jewelry with gemstones, create ideas for pine needle basket making, playing with resin making pine needle basket bottoms with items I find during my travels and just generally all types of mediums and crafts. I'd love to share what I've learned !
I will be creating videos during the Covid situation to help friends at home learn to make pine needle baskets and whatever else I come up with. I'm new at this so be patient !
Repurposing is my favorite - I use items I find in the forest, at second had stores and in my travels to over states and countries. Take and look and most of all enjoy !
Please give me a like and subscribe if you are interested!

Create a False or Floating Stitch in a Pine Needle Basket - Beginner How To - Add More Stitches
Have you ever needed to add a few stitches going around a corner where possibly it’s wider than expected? Or maybe you don’t have a stitch to attach to and you need more stitches.
You can always create a V stitch in anticipation of needing more stitches. You can also wrap a row and then create your stitches every quarter inch or so.

But here is another way that I add false or floating stitches in my baskets to Fill in the larger open areas. Then when you get to the next coil or row, you can attach to the new “false” or “floating stitch” you created on the row below.
Hope this helps ! Keep creating !

Drawing Ginko Leaf Fantasy Flowers & Butterflies With Pressed Leaves - Pine Needle Basket Centers
Переглядів 88Місяць тому
In my previous video I show you how I created pine needle basket centers on craft paper by pressing or imprinting with ginko leaves from my own tree. I love how the veins show when you press the leaves with paint onto the paper and leave an imprint showing the skeletal veins. (You can use any of your favorite leaves.). You can see that video here: Pressing Painted Ginko Leaves Onto Paper - For ...
Pressing Painted Ginko Leaves Onto Paper - For Pine Needle Basket Centers - Beginner

This video goes into great detail explaining my idea of using ginko leaves from my adorable little tree to use for basket centers. I explain how to use paint to press the leaf onto craft paper, showing the veins, mixing two colors on the leaf, etc. I use Modge Podge to "seal" the pressing prior to putting it into resin for pine needle baskets. This is just a fun project using items I have on ha...

Taking a little break from posting videos on “every woman” pine needle doll project. This video will explain to you how I create the “straight stitch.” I like to use the straight stitch when I am setting up to create the Ti stitch. I will be showing you both right and left-handed ways to create the straight stitch. If you coil to the right, the pine needle tail will be on the right; if you coi...

Taking a closer look at the steps I used to create Every Woman's cape on the pine needle doll. Due to time constraints, I was not able to video each step of the way. I did take pictures of several steps though! This video talks you through some of the steps I used to create the cape portion of the pine needle doll. It follows the first video Creating A Pine Needle Cape for "Every Woman" Doll, w...
Creating A Pine Needle Cape For “Every Woman” Doll - Beginner How To
Переглядів 1002 місяці тому
In this video I am explaining how I created a cape / shawl for the top part of "Every Woman" pine needle doll which I created for a challenge project. The cape was created by starting a 3" opening coiling pine needles together using the same method we use for creating a basket. After 3 rows, I "split" the coil and created 2 separate coils. I added extra pine needles to each coil until they both...

This video is a continuation of how I added items from the "challenge packet" for The Red Dress Project into my "Every Woman" doll. This embellishment piece was a twisted set of 1 gold and 2 red elastic ropes. I explain how I stretched it and added to a crevice and nestled it in. I then stitched over the 3 ropes with red waxed thread. Thank you for watching. I hope this gives you some ideas whe...
Twisting Two Colors of Waxed Thread in Every Woman Pine Needle Doll, Beginner Pine Needle Basket
Переглядів 952 місяці тому
Continuing with "Every Woman" pine needle doll, I wanted a two color waxed thread, but could not find it in black and gold. So I created it myself with what I had on hand. This little video explains how I did it. It seems simple, however there was a bit of trial and error. When I twisted the two threads together prior to stitching, they came unraveled. I found it was easier to stitch the double...
How to Tighten Thread In A Pine Needle Basket Using A Dotting Tool - Beginner Pine Needle Basket
Переглядів 1592 місяці тому
Are your baskets floppy and stitches a bit loose? Here's one way you can help tighten the thread making your pine needle basket or pine needle project tighter and solid. By using a dotting tool (or nut pick, or curved scissors) you can work your way through a row and tighten the thread along the way. I manage to pull an extra 1/4" to 1/2" at the end, making my baskets tighter. I used my dotting...
Beginner How to Avoid Damaging A Fabric Row & Using A Dotting Tool To Tighten Thread - Pine Needle
Переглядів 1762 місяці тому
Continuing on creating "Every Woman" pine needle doll, this video will explain how I attached the next coil of pine needles with a basic stitch, while avoiding catching or damaging the gold fabric below. It was a bit difficult to avoid picking up the gold fabric, especially when the folds from below were near the metallic gold thread where I was stitching the next row. Other fabric might not sh...
Beginner How To Create The Overlay / Overcasting Stitch Pine Needle Basket
Переглядів 1963 місяці тому
Here's how I created the metallic gold overlay / overcast stitch for "Every Woman" pine needle doll. I keep saying it's similar to the "Tonga" stitch, but I'm meaning the Mariposa. Sorry, but it's usually late when I record these videos and I was under a time crunch. The look and hand movements are similar to a Mariposa stitch. This Overlay stitch is great to pop a bright color over a different...
