@@3finger10 yep super easy look for bent or loose parts first. Good luck 👍
Came for wheels bearings and got a life story about a box on the back. I suggest studying or making a couple practice runs before making us watch you learn for the first time.
Right on, bearing is still going strong.
You said you had the shudder problem do you know what causes that
@@justinwhite2234 GM used the wrong transmission fluid, needs to be LV HP hopefully it didn't shorten the life of the converter.
I think i need a new converter i have high miles places dont wanna flush my trans just telling me i need to probably just buy a new trans i think new converter would solve it and cant be that hard to swap out

@@thecitiots Well, either you bought that pool noodle or some kid is missing theirs. 😂. I just got back from the store and paid $6.22 for 10 feet of 1 inch backer rod. And why are most new garage door gaskets such garbage??!!
@@bysykler4959 we bought a bunch of pool noodles for 99 cents. Seems like a lot of products these days are designed to fail quickly.

Take the shock off the upper a-arm and tie it up with a piece of rope to the handle bar so it’s out of the way. then lift up on the upper a-arm And the axle will slide right out.
@@tritonruns11 nice I'll try that when the other side goes out thanks for the advice!
I came up w/ a similar idea a few years back at the motorcycle repair shop that I work at. Our bay door is on a downward slope, so every time it rained, all of the shops on our row would get flooded because the drains can't accommodate a lot of water very quickly. So, I took three pool noodles & put them onto a nearly garage door width PVC pipe to make 1 long noodle w/ about 6" of "slack on each end. So, when we expect heavy rain, I open the bay door just enough to put the noodle under & close it down tightly, & use the slack on the ends to stuff into spaces not covered by the door track ends & to direct any water away from any extra spaces outside of the door that may allow water to pass & get inside. I hope all of that makes sense. I'm about to make a new one because after a few years, the noodles start to disintegrate. THIS time, I'm going to try & coat them with GORILLA brand Waterproof Patch & Seal spray. 😊
@@bossylady80 sounds like a great solution thanks for sharing. I've worked in commercial shops where they have an air blatter which works really well but lots of failure points I like your solution better.
@thecitiots WOW! Thank you! 😊 I just finished making the new 1 & putting it in place for the anticipated storms over the next few days here in Delaware. 🤞🏽

@@Turbo850 sweet thanks for the advice, I'm looking at buying a g5 summit x. Right now they are still too expensive in your opinion should I spend the cash for a g4 turbo or go for a g5?
@@thecitiots If at all possible step up to the g5. The difference is absolutely amazing. I’ve owned both. I’d take a g5 over a tuned g4 any day. I’ll send a link from a few years ago in upper hotel creek. We had a mix of turbos that day. The g4 165 got destroyed by the g5 154 turbos

Ive done many in my lifetime, but not cars or trucks
How did it turn out?
Turn out good! Some people do it different! I normally unbolt a-arms out, I've done it your way seems a bit easier, I've change out my 2014 foreman 500. I've sold that wheeler now I'm getting a new 2024 ribicon 520.

How to remove stuff drum on a front brake from a honda foreman 06 Four by four
Should be the same as my 300, remove the screws. If it's hard to spin by hand pop out the dust cap and spin the adjustment wheel a few times and it will loosen up enough to pull it off. Penetration oil helps too. Last resort is heat.
Why are you changing front differential fluid change on a 17?
She's got 93k on her now
Very good instructions
Thank you for the feedback glad it helped
How much
?
I had some 1" round foam laying in the garage and inserted it the length of the double door. a dab of epoxy glue at each end. going on year 2 and no issues so far.
That's awesome nice ingenuity 🤘
What brand are the bearings please? Couldn’t quite read in the video
All balls however I would buy official Honda parts was testing these as I know the spacers will wear the bearings faster.
Canada
Thanks for checking in 🤘
we’re the brake engages mine it like welded with rust😭 IT WANT MOVE
You got that with some penetrating oil?
Thanks bro
Happy to help 👍
Thank you for sharing this! Your instructions are very straightforward and easy to follow!
Hey thanks for the great feedback 🤘
try some 2x6's and make some home made ramps FANTASTIC! I even used them on my 2019 E450 Class C RV, but they where made for the 2016 Silverado.
I agree that would make things easier
Thanks for the video. It helped. I've never replaced just the boots before but figured i would save some money
It's not so bad once you see it done, that's what I like about UA-cam I've learned a ton here as well. I appreciate this nice comment 👍
Honda requires a hypoid gear fluid
I agree completely
These can be a curse. A friend left me a 2006 Foreman 500 for an axle and hubs (zero splines left) and the axle splines had kind of twisted and hammered into the drum. Only option I had was to break the drum off in pieces
Full of water?
@@thecitiots No inside the drum was excellent, and inside the axle tube was like new. They decided to switch to 4wd because there were no splines left in the rear hubs. It's hard to describe but the axle splines had gotten damaged a few mm at the point where they exit the drum. Sort of as if the axle had twisted at that point. Tried pressing, hammering, heating but only discovered the twisted splines after breaking the drum off
@@TheBlaert I've seen splines destroyed from water in the axel tube. That's awful new parts were recked, were you able to get the machine back on the trail?
@@thecitiots Yeah it's sorted now. New axle and 2 hubs. Full set of bearings. This machine in its lifetime has been sunk in a bog, barrel rolled down a big hill, caught fire and left on the side of a mountain in the winter for a month (on it's side). The guy who owns it is pretty rough 😂
@@TheBlaert sounds like he chose the right machine for the abuse
Really helpful. USA 🇺🇸
Awesome glad it was helpful and thanks for checking in hope you're doing some riding this weekend
I didn’t need one I used a big socket and hammer took like 30sec
I hear ya, so far mine are holding up. Press may have been a better choice only time will tell
Good video. Thanks. You said the seal is good though. Why did you have so much water in the brakes?
Thanks I appreciate it 🙏, the water in the drum thought on that is hot metal and cooler water/mud will cause the drum to suck water in. Same concept of towing your boat trailer and when you put that hot drum assembly in the water it slips by. You can use silicone to help keep the seal supple.
I think those are oil cooling lines and they leak on all of them where the rubber meets the metal. It's annoying.
Thanks for the tip hopefully I don't have to replace them but should get on it before the snow falls.
@@thecitiots Yep the oil cooling lines and the trans cooling lines will both do it. I plan to use transmission rubber line and fuel clamps in place of the factory rubber lines and crimps.
@@bradleysanders7376 I had the skid plate off this week looking at those again hope to order parts and get a video out but hunting season is upon us.
What do you do if they get seized up and locks completely? Mine keep seizing up and locking the bike up
Are they seized up from sitting too long and rusted? Or from something else?
I think they are sticking one of the cables seems is super tight and no matter how much I back the wing nut off it still locks back up after pressing it once.@@thecitiots
@@michaellyda7460 I would check the position of the brake lever on the cam that goes into the drum. I've also had logs grab one of the cables and stretch it out while riding so no matter what you do you can't seem to get both hand and foot brake to adjust. Did you buy this new or second hand?
Very informative,,,Canada
Thank you for the feedback,👍 I hope your riding isn't impacted by the fires thanks for checking in
Thanks for not showing how to get the top ball joint off. So much for being very detailed
Glad I was able to help thanks for the feedback 🙏
I didn't need to remove the top ball joint. Just the lower, tie rod, and strut. I used the "Master front end ball joint and tie rod remover kit" from harbor freight. It has a tool for removing the top one. As well as all the ones you need to do the rest
@@thomasleathers2201 I love that store, ball joint removal tool is a viable option. How did the tool work?
Best on the market for the price range is CERAKOTE® Ceramic Trim Coat (amazing and long lasting) for the paint CERAKOTE® Rapid Ceramic Paint Sealant Protective Coating (amazing and long lasting)
So does it make it easier to clean?
What year is it
This one is a 2013
@@thecitiots thanks but it was the wrong year
@@Owen-d1c6p concept is the same for different years part numbers may vary. I would recommend pressing in with a press if the freezer trick does allow you to get the bearing in all the way.
Does the 2017 use the same dust seals?
Lol not many comments on here but loved the video and the CLICK and brake clean
Thanks I appreciate the feedback 👍
