The market featured here is now on BTO Sun Sails. Part 2 features the continuation but on the other side of road where The Nauti...

The way John Wayne carried Manisha to the shore. ❤ so gentleman. When the actors where starstruck by him. 😊saloma was a sex symbol back then. 🎉 wonder what Jins Samsudin joked to him about 🤔💭😐❓

It was a Tay Koh Yat bus. It served Sembawang - Beach Road route. My late Dad used to take this bus to school. He had to walk from his family home in Andrews Avenue until the junction of Sembawang Road - Admiralty Road East to get a bus from there. After the UBC bus took over, the route was extended until the end of Sembawang Road, in front of Sembawang Park.
Such amazing footage it brings back many happy memories of plane spotting at Para Lebar.
RFA Sir Bedivere went on to serve at the 1982 Falklands War before being sold to the Brazilian Navy, She was commissioned in RN in 1967 - which means that when she was Singapore, it must have been her first long deployment
presume the original video also dont have audio?
The area and surroundings have been marked for future housing development, even the shipyard. Most likely this will be torn down but hopefully this iconic and historical building can be saved.
I did one term there prior to returning to Blighty. I started in Slim School, Cameron Highlands in '63. A wonderful experience and long two day journey by rail from home in Kluang. Slim closed and I was sent to Bourne School in KL for a while - not quite as wonderful an experience. Finally when Bourne closed (what are the chances?) I was sent to St John's and my sisters sent to another school in Singapore which I cannot for the life of me remember the name of. Would have liked longer at St John's. It was a world away from the experience of Slim School. I remember it as being enormous, modern and no expense spared on anything, or so it seemed to me. Loved Singapore itself and as a kid was allowed to roam pretty freely and safely at the weekends. Returned to Singapore on a military exercise mid '70's - what a change there had been!
I went there in 1971-2 just after it became Singapore International school, my Fathers Regiment was the last to be posted to Singapore, (to hand over the remaining colonial buildings). Much appreciated.

Great video!! There are still people who appreciate 'old' Singapore and I wish all these places don't get wiped out. I used to go to Tg Irau to visit relatives.
