@@lastsonofktn Thank you! Also, which settings are you using for the Index reprojection? I get weird tearing with the new reprojection but smoother framerate. Legacy reprojection looks much better but stutters especially in city areas.

Absolutely funny you mention this now. So I went with these settings back in ATS and found it very sharp but fuzzy in 60ish fps at points but performance was still grinding down as if on a lower card. It might work differently on 2d screens but in the headset you don't need the aliasing options at all or low at most. I turned these options off and not only do you get fps back but also everything looks sharp and clean. It really is great. The 4090 was what we always needed for this game in VR.

I think I'm gonna post another video tomorrow where I setup the framerates in the video. It was mostly 60 plus easily but it does still drop below it from time to time. I'm running lots of mods so for what I'm using I'm getting great performance on mostly high settings. I think the trade off is to drop from 400% scale down to 200% on high detailed map mods like Alaska. But in regular default states, like usual, performance is always pretty good. It was like that with my 3090 also. Mind you in this video shadows were on ultra and mirrors pretty high. I had no idea I was running shadows on ultra until the next few days. So yeah the 4090 is definitely doing it's job!

I'll have to double-check my fps but I'm using Valve Index headset with a I912900k ddr5 6400 64gb ram asus rog hero maximus z690 Samsung ssd I'm running the headset at 1440 customized. Ingame is 1440 with everything turned up. I just double-checked last night and didn't realize I had shadows on ultra this entire time. So it runs that well even with shadows like that. Mirror resolution is heavy on resources as well so that says alot. I've turned both down and kept everything else the same. I'll have to get back to you on exact fps. Thanks for checking this out. Figured people might wanna see what it runs like. I'll do ETS2 next.

@@lastsonofktn yeah thank you for your reply and video, for sure....I think truck Simulator is superb in VR. But for such and old game it's extremely demanding and not optimised unfortunately. I play with a 3090 and a G2 and although it's pretty sharp now I have to downgrade my g2 to 60hz which isn't ideal. Sounds like the 4090 is a big jump in performance.

@@Hani_Santa It is but I was getting similar frames with the 3090. I just didn't have it cranked up like I do now.

@@Hani_Santa Yeah the game only utilizes one core from what I heard so it's not really taking advantage of more modern setups. A shame since the game is so big right now. Another I can think of that suffers a similar situation is DCS flight sim.

@@lastsonofktn Exactly DCS is also unoptimised. Unfortunately most simulator type of games aren't really optimised.....Hopefully in the future games are more developed with VR in mind.
