What I miss in evangelically inclined people is that they play too safe to be intellectually stimulating. They have a sect puppet aspect often (not always) because they are being disincentivized to explore their values. I would even go so far as to say that all new ideas arise from the chaos of sin, and that there is something necessary in exploring that in order to become a complete person, though I mostly refrain from it myself, it's just an observation.

Nice job putting the video together, I'm working through the book now. It's nice to hear someone, and don't take this with offense, that doesn't have the same level of oratory ability or depth of knowledge as Peterson wrestle with these ideas and work to explain them. It's interesting, I'm a deep admirer of Peterson and believe that he's tapping into something deep and real. However, I often find it difficult to communicate these thoughts to others without a similar background, i.e. years of listening to genesis/maps of meaning/personality lectures. I'm happy to see you doing it, keep it up!

I'm 43 and it's crazy to me that Girard is being talked about so much now. I suppose it's because JD Vance and Peter Thiel are fans of Girard. That is bizarre and scary to me that Girard was what apparently caused those 2 men to convert to Catholicism because like...that's not necessarily what Girard was arguing for. It makes you realize that Thiel and Vance's religion is likely fake.

Dang, for what it's worth I'm proud of you and your journey. I remember you being this super confident and outgoing guy in high school with all sorts of ideas, and honestly I assumed you were just gonna take the world by storm. A lot of times we think in our teens and 20s everything is gonna work out the way we want simply because we want it enough, but really that's the time where we really start to think beyond ourselves. More than anything though, it's amazing to hear what God's been doing in you and through you. Keep doing what you're doing and hopefully the algorithm catches up to you!

I started listening to e511 ministries a few years ago and was blown away with it. While I appreciate the speakers work, gentleness and kindness, Some other things also need to be said. People who want to fight for the world, loves the world; and what does the Bible say about loving the world? The love of the Father is not in them…. To be friends with the world is to be an enemy of God. Secondly, we are in the end times. If that is the case, then everyone calling themselves Christians should know that it only gets worse and it is Gods will that it gets worse because his word said it would. They not about have heaven on earth and I think that needs to be emphasized. There’s needs to be a balance. We know that Jesus loves us but there is also going to suffering and people are not being told about that. if these people aren’t taught they they will be persecuted for Jesus name in the correct biblical context then they will take the mark of the beast and persecute true Christians.
