Welcome to my channel:)
Here, I will post recordings of classical music (mostly piano)
accompanied by a scrolling score.
I'm trying to find good recordings that I couldn't find on the internet with the score accompaniment, so that I can provide a better listening experience.
I also try to highlight quality recordings that I consider to be too little known and that would benefit from being more known.

Samson François plays Chopin Ballade N°4 op.52 (restored audio and video)
In the beginning of the year, a documentary on Samson François was broadcasted on French TV. This performance is already available on UA-cam but the audio in it is really deteriorated so I thought it was good to upload it again !
This is wonderful material for us, classical piano enjoyers. This performance is full of liberty and inspiration. The video let us appreciate SF incredible finger work and ease at the keyboard.

Liszt : Piano Sonata in B minor (Shura Cherkassky)
Переглядів 2859 місяців тому
Recorded live in 1965 in Salzburg A magnificent recording of this sonata despite the poor recording quality. Shura Cherkassky was a phenomenal pianist whose talent was multiplied during concerts. This recording is inspired, powerful but also very lyrical. SC craves the musical speech in a unique way creating a without equal rendition of this sonata. This is one of the best recording of this son...

Beethoven : Piano Sonata N°32 op.111 (Eric Heidsieck)
Переглядів 6182 роки тому
Let me introduce you to what might be my favourite performance of Beethoven's final sonata. This sonata is in 2 movements. As is often the case in Beethoven's late works, we escape from classical form. Beethoven claimed at the time that he did not have time to write a third movement. However, here we find a perfect balance between these two movements, where the duality. the opposition of two em...
Ravel : Piano Concerto for the left hand (Samson François)
Переглядів 7 тис.3 роки тому
Ravel's concerto for the left hand was composed between 1929 and 1931 and dedicated to Paul Wittgenstein, an Austrian pianist and soldier who had his right arm amputated during the First World War. It has only one movement and was premiered by its dedicatee in Vienna in 1932 in a version arranged for two pianos. The premiere will tarnish the relationship between the two men because the pianist ...
Beethoven : Piano Sonata n°8 « Pathétique » (Ivan Moravec)

Here are some comments from the site musicologie.org about this sonata : Written in 1798-1799 and published with a dedication to Prince Carl von Lichnowsky, the generous "protector" who, for years, provided Beethoven with an income that allowed him to devote himself more freely to his art, this sonata in C minor, Op. 13, remains one of the most popular of its composer's works. "Because of its d...
Beethoven : Piano Sonata N°30 (Louis Lortie)

France Musique comments about Beethoven Piano sonata n30 : Beethoven composed his last three piano sonatas between 1820 and 1822, while working on the Missa solemnis. The monumentality of the vocal work is contrasted with the more modest dimensions of the piano scores, which are no less ambitious in their conception. But here the invention does not need time dilation. What is striking, on the o...
Ravel : Gaspard de la Nuit (Beatrice Rana)
Переглядів 12 тис.3 роки тому
Comments from the score (RayBird) : Published in 1909 Gaspard de la Nuit is considered to be the most beautiful, masterly and challenging of all Ravel’s œuvre for piano. The poet Aloysius Bertrand(1807- 1841), alchemist of irony and speech, whose only collection, Gaspard de la Nuit had just been reedited in 1908 by the Mercure de France, seduced Ravel, who immediately and dramatically changed h...

Recording found on ADGO's channel : ua-cam.com/users/AntonioDGO. Go check it out for rare recordings of Russian artists! ⚠️ This set is one of the last piece composed by Schumann. At the time, he was diving into insanity. He threw himself in the Rhine river only days after achieving these. Commenting on this piece seems almost futile as the music speaks for itself. The only thing I can say is t...

Children's Corner was written by Debussy in 1908 and dedicated to his daughter Chouchou. Chopin : Piano Sonata N°3 op. 58 (Emil Gilels)
Переглядів 10 тис.4 роки тому
Chopin's third sonata n°3 op. 58 is his last and most lyrical sonata. While the 1st one can be assimilated to a style search, the 2nd possesses a dark and somehow tragic atmosphere. The 3rd sonata, on the other hand, has a more romantic character. Some of Chopin's most beautiful melodies can be found through the piece. Gilels approaches the piece in a quite unique way, taking the 1st movement a...

Liszt : Piano Sonata in B minor (Daniil Trifonov)
"It contains a unique variety of colors and expression from intense Fortissimo to gentle pianissimos" lmao, as opposed to other romantic music?
Sometimes, I dare think Ravel exceeds Bach.
Oh my.
The best- simply the best perhaps Samson François the greatest pianist I have ever heard and I have heard those claimed to BT the best including Horowitz
Beautifully sensitive playing.
Danke
Samson François is just joy to hear playing Ravel and Debussy, rest in peace maestro.
Exactement le bon tempo et la bonne expression, désespérée, sans espoir même l'Aube. Cela fait plusieurs fois que je constate que Ugorski, malgré certains excès par ailleurs, comprend profondément Schumann.
I love listening to underated performances, I always like the new interpretation ideas. Rather a freely playing sonata than a robotic one.
Was this live?? He plays it on a way I never heard it before... His voicing is unique in this one... Very creative interpetration by Trifonov especially in 1:58 first time I see accent in this passage!!! Very interisting at all... the use of pedal is mesmerizing aswell.
Watching the text makes clear how well this pianist has looked at it !
Maravillosa versión!!!
Why is this so good
Esecuzione impeccabile: è una pianista eccellente sia per la tecnica sia interpretativamente.
Слов нет...под впечатлением!Пусть эстеты о(б)суждают:я-слушал!
After all, Schumann is a man of contemplation and explosion. The fourth work reminded me of Brahms' Intermezzo.
The third made me think about Scriabin...
Transcendent performance, and indicative of a being nearing ego-crucifiction
You should dedicate a video on Ugorski, an absolute genius!
By far my favorite rendition of those pieces. The slow tempo can be surprising at first, but after a few seconds you quickly understand that this choice allows Moravec to express each note and each indication absolutely perfectly. His expression here is unmatched in my opinion. Thanks for sharing.
c'est bien,sensible...difficile de dire a quel tempo le dr gradus se promene le mieux....
No.4 screaming Brahms B Major Ballade
What a lovely piece and what a great composer
This is the one.
Was Schumann divinely inspired?
Moravec, some very good recordings. High level Artistry
Great
Extraordinário ‼️ 👏👏 Grande desafio com resultado magnífico na execução de D.Trifonov❗️‼️❗️
Thank you so much for posting this with the music. I was searching for song 4 after hearing it as an encore at a recent piano concert (Dmitry Sin, waiting until after concert to ask him what it was). How amazing to find it with the written music as well. So beautiful. Thanks for the brief history of the piece as well, which adds sadness to the beauty, but also makes it even more beautiful. THANK YOU!
Goosebumps (and I ain’t talkin’ Travis Scott)
No.4 is an insperation to all the Brahms Intermezzi. Wow didn't knew that piece until today
To me it screams Brahms Ballade in B major. Same exact shape
Just ... 100 times BRAVO!!!
This is quite possibly the greatest Ondine recording I have come across. What a gifted pianist.
don,t know this work at all. Regardless of Schumann,s state ,his compositions are the most logical of all Romantic period ,I think anyway. Very hard to play too. I,m learning Preamblue from Op 9 Carnival,it,s worth the work.
i like how claire de lune is played slightly faster ever so much, it takes away some of the loftiness that the piece has garnered and gives it more of a dreamy passing-by quality which is quite refreshing.

Terrible playing. No phrasing, no rhythm, no articulation.
Yes!
The piece is just terrible
@Whatismusic123 you are just terrible
Agree
Terrible comment. No understanding, no insight, no intelligence.
Number 4 of the group is my favorite.... He seemed so far away from his earthly troubled life.......🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏Tears...!
Good tempo and expression.
🙏🙏🙏
When i first listened, i thought this was easy
0:46 theme 2 1:30 exposition 3:09 2nd theme area 10:45 end of “1st mov” to the “2nd movement” 18:49 “3rd movement” or Scherzo 20:28 recapitulation or “4th movement” 22:07 recapitulation of the 2nd theme area 25:57 Coda
Liszt transitions are just superb.
Bravo. Très poétique. Vous êtes un artiste.
L’interprète n’est pas l’auteur de la vidéo, mais Anatol Ugorski.

This will quench an moisturize your parched soul
I've met Beatrice Rana briefly when I was in a master class she gave. She roasted the hell out of me lol. I was still in awe of being in the presence of a truly world class pianist.
😍 what did you play in the masterclass if I may ask?
Ethereal, unnervingly, achingly beautiful. Wow.
Very well professionally executed performance. Great control , touch , colors. There are many beautiful moments in her playing. Yet, I'd often catch myself thinking that some of Ms. Rana's phrasing, rubato and dynamics choices were absolutely foreign to the pieces. They were so exaggeratedly presented that it felt like I am not listening an "impressionism" but rather an "expressionism". In my modest opinion there's no better performance of this cycle than Richter's live recording of his recital in Prague in 1965.
My favourite work by Debussy, from the time when he wasn't yet an impressionist but working in a late Romantic idiom. The harmony in these works is still well within the confines of (extended) tonality and not using the sort of tonal ambiguity and non-tonal harmony based on the whole tone scale that became prominent in his later work, although especially the menuet uses a really progressive form of tonality already hinting at impressionism.
Schumann fan for almost 40 years.
