I read Gone Girl once and unhauled it, because I really disliked the Amy character. But the book is well written.

I understand how you feel about P.G. Wodehouse. I read a couple of his books and donated them to the library, because I felt that his narration was a bit long- winded. I guess I don’t have the patience for his writing style. I bought those books after watching the TV series Jeeves and Wooster, which I enjoyed.

I bought Björnstad (Beartown) to practise my Swedish. The book was ok, even though I’m not interested in ice hockey. Maybe someday I’ll reread it and get the sequels from the library.

All the Stephen King books on your shelf are excellent. The Stand is my favorite!

Snow Crashis one of my favourite ever books. It’s got to be at least 20 years old, but still super relevant in its critique. Also the MC is called Hero Protagonist, so… you either think that’s funny or not. I happen to. I also love the language myths.

The Boys was very good. I just bought Septology, so I am glad to hear what you heard about the book. I bought it on a whim.

I think I’m also going to unhaul Salem’s Lot. I read it once and lost interest when I tried to reread it.

A special huge thumps up 👍 for getting rid of "Speed Reading". Never understood, never will, why on earth people would want to do that. Reading should be for pleasure, for fun, escapism, calming down, solace, whatever it has to give us - but never for wolfing down as many books as possible within a month or year.

Great unhaul! The House of Sad and Fog is a very sad book. I watched the movie as well and it made me feel depressed. I would not recommend if you are wanting to stay away from sad books!

I feel the same way about Ian McEwan 😂. Saturday and Amsterdam were rough. I have Enduring Love and Sweet Tooth, not sure if I will actually read it.

That was a good unhaul. I want to get the Washington Irving book for my book collection. I think you have mentioned in other videos that you don't like the Barnes and Noble Classic books, but I think they are good looking books.

Cool non-fiction books! About the Will Durant Philosophy book, he and his wife wrote an 11 book series called "The Story of Civilization" Each book can be found for around $5 or $6 used. I think that's a good deal for a huge history book series.

I'm collecting The Wheel of Time series to eventually read. Another fantasy author I like is Tad Williams. I loved The War of the Flowers (I got a beautiful hardcover book while I was in England back in 2003. I've got his Otherland series on my shelf to read which I'm really looking forward to.

A long time ago, I read The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat by Oliver Sacks. I found it interesting.

I liked Nora Ephron’s I Feel Bad About My Neck. But I didn’t keep it. Now I think maybe I’ll get it from the library.

Like you, "The Devil Wears Prada" is a guilty pleasure for me - both the book and the film. The book is so different from the film that you don't feel you know the story - for those who have seen the film but not read the book, give the book a go. Have you also read "Revenge Wears Prada" which is the sequel and follows Andi's life after leaving Runway? I also want to read "When Life Gives You Lululemons" which follows Emily's later career.

Getting rid of the plague was an amazing choice. I pushed through and I really should have just escorted it out of the house 😂

I read The Shadow of What Was Lost this year and the next book in the series, just have the third to go which I’m hoping to read by the end of the year. I’ve enjoyed the series so far. Thanks for sharing.

This was very enjoyable to watch your methodology here and sometimes reminded me of various small factors that influence my own decision-making too. Like when you would see the word science in the description and go “Oooh science, I’m keeping it” haha.

An idea...you had so many time sad these or those book or series or author stays...like it is set in stone. Why not made just one bookshelf only for those? You know they are not lraving.

Wooow I never expected that I will EVER see it on a booktube channel DICTIONARY OF THE KHAZARS is one of my favorite books. I read it with 17 and it has NO DIALOGS at all and I was sooo proved of myself to have read it. What starge is I do really love that book. What is it all about. No idea 🤣 BUT the written format is one of a kind. It was for the teen me. 🙀 Ah does days where I voud read 2 books a day.....

The Stone Diaries was a 5 star for me. You said you're reading "A prayer for Owen Meaning" I had a very hard time getting into that one and my reading friend told me to stick with it because it all comes together later. I'm glad I finished it. I ended up loving it.

I like the books that help make philosophy easier to understand too. I have Seinfeld and Philosophy and some of the "For Beginners" books on individual philosophers. The psychology and history books look really interesting too. The .50 cents and dollar books you found are a great deal!

Really enjoyed this video! I got a couple of the MiniBrands books and loved opening them and setting up the mini bookshelves with the books 📚 I got Stranger Things Suspicious Minds, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, 2 of the Vampire Diaries: The Awakening and The Struggle as well The Fury and Dark Reunion, The Burn Book, and Matilda. My daughter has some shelves with: Goosebumps Deep Trouble, Goosebumps Night of the Living Dummy, Babysitters Little Sister, Cat Kid Comic Club, Diary of A Wimpy Kid Rodrick Rules, and another copy of Matilda. It was hard to find them in stores where I am in NZ but we were so excited when we did! Love the LEGO set and your book nooks📚 The journal looks great 📖 I'd be keen to find a copy and try some of the lists!

One thing I have learned over the years - especially with non-fiction - is within a month or two of decluttering the books I "no longer want"... I miss them, or I needed to check some piece of information that was in it. Fiction in many cases I know I won't read it again and that's less of a wrench (although there has been one or two exceptions). But sometimes the time just hast to be right. I've had books that I tried to read them when I first bought them, and haven't got very far. They've then sat on my shelf for several years, I've picked them up again and read I so enjoyed them that I read them very quickly. Oh, and by the way, I'm a new subscriber. I can't believe your videos aren't getting more views.
