Piston Bumper Stop Repair for any Brad Nailer (Tradesman Magnesium Series 8550)

I could not find a piston bumper stop replacement for my Tradesman Magnesium Series 8550 Brad nailer. I rebuild it using moldable plastic. So far it's working great.

How to fix a Gaggia or Saeco automatic espresso maker that displays the "Brewunit blocked message" Note: If you are not replacing the whole board, you need to diagnose which component failed. Take a look at this blog by Tomas Kovacik for help: raphtec.wordpress.com/repairs/saeco-cafe-nova-repair-2-brewing-unit-motor-controller/ In the video, I mentioned that it would be sufficient to change the...
bread is better than balloons

I'd rather eat Mica's bread than play with ballons.
This worked for me! Thank you!!!! I was sad and going to throw it away, I used it almost daily for years!
And they can't install a reset button?
Can't hear what you said
Open everything up, disconnect motor from motherboard then disconnect battery from motherboard, wait 10-15 seconds then plug everything back in
This guy though! Wow. Thank you!!!!! These things are wayyyyy to expensive to be messing up like thatm you can tell they don't want you figuring this out because my screws would not budge but I wasn't about to give up. Works great now. Mad kudos.
I tried this but it still doesn’t charge. What else can it be?
My wattnee massager doesn't hold a charge anymore. I wonder if this would fix that
My model has the buttons and everything beneath the cells and I can’t get them to budge.
I'm thinking return it... rather than void the warranty since it is clearly a defective product.
For what it’s worth those “voiding warranty” stickers or statements of the same for opening devices are illegal and unenforceable. You’re always able to try to repair your property before getting a warranty return.
Thank you
Thank you
Have you seen the 2nd gen and fixed the problem? I tried your method but without success! I wonder if bleeding the capacitors would help?
Get a new battery
So
Good work 👍👏
rubbish
Excellent. Thank you
The AC voltage at the 3 bigger wire is 36 and 110v . I have 13 v at transfo output
Hello. Thanks for that sharing . I have same error . Transformer is ok . I have only 0.8 v at motor input. I have test diodes rectifier . And npn large transistor . That one seem hs . Can you give me the normal values at emmiter gate and collector
I am sorry I don't have that information. My machine has been working well since I replaced the board and I had no interest in reopening it. I have since found this blog which describes the same problem in detail for a similar board: raphtec.wordpress.com/repairs/saeco-cafe-nova-repair-2-brewing-unit-motor-controller/ and includes a reversed-engineered diagram. I hope that has some useful information for you.
sound no audable
thanks men , there are a lot of MF on youtube but nothing they show on this problem only big talk.
Have you thought about selling these piston bumper stops you made for the rest of us with a dead machine at a reasonable price?
I am not interested in making and selling them. Too much manual work. But if anyone with a 3d printer wants to take a stab at it I am happy to donate my DIY working one to copy.
Did you have any issues with the orings you used for this repair? You mentioned it was not food grade so was just wondering... Thanks for your very information video!
No, no issues. They just need to be replaced once every couple of years as the original ones. I mentioned they are not certified food-grade as a precaution because I don't have any idea of what distinguishes a food-grade o-ring from one that is not. As far as I can tell they perform like the original ones. If they contain toxic substances I am not able to tell.
Parabéns pelo trabalho 👏👏👏🙏💕
Ja same problem. Problem is where to order the board
I ordered from Whole Latte, but now it's out of stock. Looking at the schematics, and alternate parts numbers (see e.g www.enco-vending.com/image/data/files/Gaggia/TITANIUM_NEW.pdf), I was able to find one from Cerini www.cerinicoffee.com/products/pcb-power-control-board-titanium . I ordered parts from them before. Alternatively, you can take your board to any electronic repair shop and check and repair the TIP33 transistor. It should be a lot cheaper than a new board.
I shoudl add the the board I pointed to is for 120V (USA). If you are in a 240V area, the power supply is different.
I have the same nailer (Tradesman 8550), my bumper was in pieces, so I do not have any idea what the dimensions should be for proper function. How did you determine the dimensions?
I wasn't able to determine the dimensions. Mine was in crumbles too. I pushed in the moldable plastic until everything fit together and could close. Heat and repeat if it doesn't work.
Also , I am pretty sure that this motor is AC and operates at 30 volts AC ( maybe even more) . The author of the video measures the voltage in DC mode , that's why he receives 9 volts.
Hi to all. Here the same problem. Motor is rotating very slow. I solved the problem and I can confirm , that problem is transistor TIP33C - this is the biggest component on the aluminium heatsink. The transformer is for low power electronics - display , CPU and has nothing to do with power components - motors , pumps , solenoids.
Thanks
Received this product through an Indiegogo campaign 2 days ago. The speakers stopped working within 10 minutes. I have written to the campaign owner listing my complaints and waiting to hear from them. Please don't waste your money. This product seems to be a dud and a waste of money.
Mine also have issues. I got a reply within 24 business hours. They offered a replacement to me.
Brilliant 👍👍
This looks too difficult to install, wish you'd shown yourself hanging it. I hang mine on the wall which appear much easier
Great for you if you have room on the walls. I don't!
сколько должно быть напряжение на этих выводвх? У меня 18, но проблема такая же. Он иногда работает, но в основном не двигается.
How hard is it to load on and off your car?
In my garage it has to be done outside. The car doesn't go through the garage door with the box on it.
Hi all, after acquiring one of these units with this fault I went at it and found the same issue you describe here. The issue with my unit though was the large TIP33 transistor had blown. Replacing this sorted the issue.
сколько должно быть напряжение?
@@Luboded says it in the video at 5:42 he says it should be 9v, but read 5.45v

Do you recall which TIP33 you replaced? I believe there are seven on my main board…
Super!
Hi Michael, I replaced the transformer as you suggested but it didn’t improve the voltage which is about six volts. Did anyone work out the actual component which was at fault? Otherwise I have to change the entire board as you did. Many thanks. Grant
Sorry, I didn't spend time diagnosing the board. I just assumed the transformer was the culprit. My bad for providing incorrect information. There are a voltage regulator and a capacitor connected to the transformer. I would start with checking those.
This is an awesome and inexpensive idea I like it.
Thanks for the video! I got a replacement transformer, and soldered it in, but unfortunately, the voltage is still low (around 6v) the spindle still turns slowly, and the unit still reads Brewunit Blocked. Michele - you mentioned you had the schematics - where did you get hold of them?
Here: wiki.wholelattelove.com/File:TITANIUM_Electrical_Diagram.pdf
@@matrovero thanks - I had found this one already, I thought maybe you had the detailed PCB schematics. I suspect that there may be a 9V regulator that is blown, since changing the transformer hasn't had much effect - so I'm in the process of trying to identify the different regulators on the PCB.
@@ollieblacklock8923 Ah, sorry, I don't have the schematics of the board. I kept the failed board if it can of any help to you. I didn't bother checking which component failed.
Hi, my machine did exactly the same thing. About 6 V I replaced the transformer and no difference. Did anyone solve the problem here? Obviously the transformer was not the problem and the video completely replace the circuit board.
@@grantrosewarne7433 and all another comment by Jack mentions a TIP33 My unit just did this same fault so looking at it.
Hello, thank you for very fine explanation. May I ask for sharing name or number of the transformator to buy it? Thank you very much.
The transformer can be bought here: www.rapidonline.com/block-vb-1-5-1-9-pcb-mount-transformer-1-5va-9v-166ma-51-5492 Mine arrived within two weeks.
