Is this pessive house certified?
This is not an Internationally Certified Passive House. In this case, the Homeowners chose not to go through the international certification process but did go through PHPP testing (Passive House Planning Package).

What sought of timeframe are you looking at to enclose the house with the SIP panel system?
Thanks for your question. Depending on the size and complexity of the house most of our homes have all the walls installed in one day. The roof is generally installed a week later and it can usually be completed in one day. Windows openings are known and pre-cut so no site measure required and windows can be installed without the delay of a site measure.

If you want to compare apples with apples and compare the panels against timber framing plus insulation plus a rigid air barrier then they are arguably comparable. Great videos. I'm concerned about air pollutants. Is the OSB total formaldehyde free? What about the glue used, is it VOCs free?
Thank you for your question. There is no off gassing or VOCs in this specific product.
I might have missed it but you seemed to only talk about how PPV systems work? Surely if a SIPS roof has no roof space so to speak then there's nowhere to install a PPV?
Thanks for your comment. The aim is to explain the different purposes for PPV and MHRV. PPV is mainly to control condensation issues. You are right it is an MHRV rather than PPV that we install in our SIPs homes and passive homes. Their purpose is to control your indoor environment in terms of temperature, humidity and indoor air quality. It is used effectively as part of an airtight, well insulated home. Roof space is not required for an MHRV. They work best inside the airtight and thermal envelope. Hope that helps.
