How to clean the Derminator
Переглядів 9 тис.4 роки тому
It's very rare but possible that blood or gliding serum ends up inside the hand unit (motor). (We now have cartridges with a silicone barrier so this has become extremely rare). This can cause a (fixable) malfunction if you allow it to dry up. To prevent this from happening, here's how to clean the inside of the hand unit. The cartridge shown is an old model with a metal spring and the magnet i...

Derminator on the face with blood and numbing cream
Переглядів 12 тис.7 років тому
Good needling technique demonstrated, although we'd advice using less pressure and moving a little faster. Using less pressure also will reduce the occasionally severe pinpoint bleeding, since the skin will not form a bulge inside the cartridge, making the needles "release" the skin sooner, letting the hand unit "glide" over the skin more smoothly. The reason for the more severe pinpoint bleedi...

      Most definitely not - all we may do in the future is introduce minor improvements, such as what we did a while ago - making the power cord longer and thinner and the display from white-on-blue to white-on-black.

  • @owndoc
    @owndoc 4 роки тому

    It's very rare that this happens though with our new cartridges, since their silicone spring/shroud should prevent that but when a lot of blood/gliding serum is involved, it can get sucked in to the hand unit and when it dries up there, it "glues" the reciprocating magnet (the only moving part of the unit) stuck. Also that is no problem, in that case you'd have to slam the tip of the hand unit hard against a table to get it dislodged.When in doubt, clean magnet and tube as demonstrated. When liquid is visible around the silicone spring/shroud area, it's possible some has entered the hand unit.This can't cause any damage but it should be removed, to allow the magnet to move freely.

      @@Jonahexx13that’s a perfectly normal response when you’re using the single needle technique on certain areas of the body. For the first few days, the stretch marks will be lumpy and very bruised (especially if you exceed a depth of 2mm) but that’s what you want to see. It means you’ve reached the reticular dermis, and that’s where the most significant changes take place. The exact same thing happens during Brazilian/inkless stretch mark camouflage procedures

    Hi Sarah, Could you tell me the difference between derminator and other competitors microneedling pen brands? Why derminator is s better pen?

    • @owndoc
      @owndoc 6 років тому

      The most important difference is that our machine is the only one that does not tear the skin because it's not a repurposed Chinese permanent-makeup pen but designed for superfast needle insertion and extraction. That is the reason the motor is much louder than other machines, but practitioners do not like to get sued, years later, by their wealthy celebrity patients so there was a professional need for a safe instrument. Ours is the ONLY device designed and manufactured in Europe. Regardless of their claims, ALL other ones come from China, ALL from the same couple of factories, under various heavily promoted brands for the Western market. The companies that make the machines have little dermaneedling expertise and care about profits only and can not be sued, since they are Chinese. We are a UK company, tax-registered in the Czech Republic in the EU and we can be trivially sued for whatever anyone wants to. So we decided we can't sell those cheap Chinese "buzzers" - not that we would have, anyway, when we discovered how dangerous they are! The other difference of our machine is that it's the only one operated by a computer, inside. It's not only fully digital, with for ex. an "expert" that knows how long to needle a certain skin area that you can define, but it's motor also measures and adjusts the needling depth, that you also set digitally. Another major difference is that the Derminator comes with a lifetime warranty, or the lifetime of our company (we've been in business for ten years and have never been healthier as a company).

    This is the most unprofessional video i have ever seen and to be used as a video for an example of the "perfect" needling technique by the company that is making these machines is really making me question my purchase of the Derminator 2. This guy clearly doesn't know what he is doing and who starts off at that speed?!? And that poor lady is in pain, probably because there was no numbing cream used and he's going around her orbital area where the skin is thin and it's boney! You shouldn't be microneedling that area anyways! Please take this ridiculous video off Vaughter Wellness, you are making yourself look bad.

    • @owndoc
      @owndoc 6 років тому

      It's recommended to start at that speed and use that speed when treating the face like that, and his needling technique is very good. Numbing cream is not needed at all and when you think that showing a video, made by a customer, showing good technique and a testimony of the results. The lady is VERY happy the machine exists and does NOT want to use numbing cream and is DELIGHTED with the results of her treatments, that SHE wanted to do.

    Sarah, thanks for the great tutorial. Rather then going to the spa this spring I am thinking of doing this treatment. In the privacy of my own home. My skin benefited from Fraxel Laser treatments in generating collagen, smoothing textured areas on my forehead and softening wrinkles and refining pore size on the t zone.. This is a good routine you have. I think the down time is less than laser. I have researched the machine and think it’s the best on the market you can buy. I think I would prefer it to derma rolling too.

    • @owndoc
      @owndoc 6 років тому

      Thank you! As a company we're a bit "weird" (I think that's because we're all on the Autistic spectrum - we have an Autism hiring policy!) but you can't go wrong, buying this machine and you can't go wrong, doing business with us in general (when someting is missing or broken in a shipment, we send TWO replacements for ex.). Yesterday there was a customer who had a machine they bought in 2012, one of the first. It started to have problems. We sent them a brand new one. Our Derminator has a lifelong warranty, without the need to return a broken one. We can afford this policy because of the robust quality of this European machine which we build ourselves, here in the town where I live. The injection molds are made in China but their design was done by Plunkett Associates in the UK and they coordinate the molding and its quality control. The hand unit cable also is made in the UK. The hand units are hand-wound by ourselves with a UK-sourced coil winding machine, using UK-sourced copper wire. There are some Chinese-made components in it such as the display and the switches, but we use the best manufacturers and pre- and post-test everything. The mainboards are made by a Dutch company who lets them be produced in a huge factory they own in Hungary. The components on it, as well as the magnetic field sensor for the automatic depth control are from the US.

    I used my new derminator on a patch of my forearm. It is still very red two days later. How long will this redness last? Any info is appreciated.

    • @owndoc
      @owndoc 6 років тому

      Impossible to answer. Depends on needle length used, how many pricks/in2 or cm2 you made, how hard you pushed the cartridge, the biological age of your skin, the type of skin, any medications used etc. etc. And then the outcome of that complex equation varies per individual. Redness always subsides after some days to at most weeks - that's all that can be said. Even if I were the world's #1 dermatologist who had treated you myself and even I would see your skin, I would not be able to give a reliable estimation.

    • @KwikWerk

      Sarah Vaughter I used 9 needle head on High and 2.2 depth for 2x2 area. My forearm is pretty tough and I have used a derma roller for some time. So thought this was a safe area to test.

    • @owndoc
      @owndoc 6 років тому

      2.25 depth you mean. That's VERY deep. And a dermaroller penetrates much less deep than our machine, unless you press VERY hard on the roller. You did not mention how hard you pushed the Derminator (pushing hard makes the needles penetrate a mm deeper due to the fact you're pressing a skin bulge INTO the cartridge, beyond its rim, so that would be 3.25 mm) and you did not mention the prick density you made. Did you use the timer function? In that case, are you sure you told the machine a 9-needle cartridge was mounted? It certainly is a better area to test than the face. Testing is done so you can judge things like treatment depth and prick density and then you'll be able to judge how long redness will last. But only when you test on similar skin. The forehead and lips are different from the tummy and thighs, etc.

    With weekly use, when should the needle attachment be replaced?

    • @owndoc
      @owndoc 6 років тому

      It is impossible to give a timeframe, since this depends on needling frequency, treated skin surface area, skin age & skin thickness (men have thicker skin in general, etc.) and whether a gliding serum is used. The only advice that can be given is either: (1) When needling starts becoming more painful than it was the first treatment, the needles are getting blunt and should be replaced. Or: (2) Don't re-use cartridges. Clinicians charge up to $600 for a single treatment session with our device. Even when you're on a budget and treating yourself at home, it's recommended to use new cartridges every time and you'll spend $4 for one treatment. Or re-use them only once, then it's down to $2.

      More importantly you should not use this once a week ( only at 0.25 or 0.5) anything higher should be done at least 3 weeks apart; really should be a month apart. The deeper you go the longer time you need for the skin to heal and properly produce collagen.

      It's completely safe. Tens of thousands of people are doing this at home, people have been doing this for at least a decade, many people repeat the process every month for years and I've never heard of anyone getting an infection or doing damage to their skin, except two cases in 50,000 customers when they were on Corticosteroids or took supplements with the same effect as Corticosteroids. Corticosteroids impair healing. Infection never happened with any of our customers.

    I ordered one and look forward to it. This treatment process and aftermath still looks better (but still effective) than the CO2 laser treatment aftermath. Did that once and won't do it again. The CO2 Laser was extremely painful, I could not self-administer to my comfort level, and could not leave the house for four days. Two years later, I have two large areas of hypopigmentation that look weird. My plastic surgeon friend said maybe it is an autoimmune reaction. I really don't think so because it is only on my face and I read this sort of thing can happen up to two years after a laser treatment. It started happening about seven months ago on two areas of my face. After doing research, this microneedling machine sounds like a much better option and the best machine. I really don't expect to have totally flawless skin the rest of my life anyway, so I don't need to risk fooling around with anymore laser treatments. If I can just keep my skin improved as I age, I will be happy.

    • @naturalwonders6172

      Catherine W the inflammation that comes with laser treatments of that caliber is what causes hyperpigmentation like you’re experiencing! It can take a long while for all the inflammation to completely subside! Microneedling is great because if done correctly it is completely noninflammatory!

    I love my Derminator ! It's by far the best device out there of all the needling machines, I used it 2 days ago . I never ever use numbing Creme again, I had once a severe reaction to it, almost an anaphylaxis, my heart was about to explode, these Cremes are very dangerous, and please if you wonna use it, wipe it off first before needling don't let it go into your blood stream . Actually I swear it hurts less without the Creme, if made my skin irritated once and it was more painful . With Time when the skin gets thicker it gets more comfortable, besides you can adjust the speed and go low on sensitive spots ! you can use before needling a natural mixture of almond oil mixed with clove and lavender essentials oils Clove has natural numbing effects ! again wipe the oil before needling with alcohol and most important disinfect all the area to be treated before and after as well as your hands, the table ... everything must be sterile !!! Do not use serums if you want to get very deep, unless the serum is organic and pure with 0 toxic material, you don't want anything funny getting into your blood stream . I use serums only by a 0,2 / 0,5 depth . you can check the safety of your cream / serum with the app ( Code Check ) .

    He is using the wrong technique. Circular motions are not recommended. Straight lines, followed by perpendicular lines, followed by diagonal lines are recommended by physicians who are properly trained in the use of these devices. His technique will tear the skin!

    • @owndoc
      @owndoc 7 років тому

      No, a not-too-rapid, semi-randomized circling motion is perfectly fine and actually to be preferred over straight lines, for reasons explained on our site. You do not have any valid argument for your claim that circular motions will tear the skin. I will pay you USD 1,000 if you can show me valid evidence to that claim. Such evidence needs to be logically consistent and based on physical/biological realities. In other words, an argument from authority and other such spurious arguments will not be accepted. I train physicians in the use of these devices (and we invented this unique device and we also were the only ones theorizing and then demonstrating the concept of microtearing with competing devices), and I was the first dermaneedling expert who published the reason why the ubiquitous "star pattern" caused uneven coverage. It was yours truly who recommended on our site, many years ago, the horizontal, vertical and diagonal pattern over the star pattern, but only for DERMAROLLERS, not for electric devices. A dermaroller can not have its direction changed continuously, so we're forced to use patterns consisting of straight lines. A device that can change direction has much better options for a more even distributed pattern. It's all simple mathematics (statistics), really. For more info: owndoc.com/dermarolling/ and forums.owndoc.com/dermarolling-microneedling/ and dermaroller.owndoc.com/

    Can't wait to purchase this and some of your other products. Can this be use on larger areas of the body like the tummy? I have a lot of stretch marks. What about keloid scars on my arm? Thank you for your time really appreciate it.

      Yes and yes, but on very large areas an ordinary roller is faster. Please note that we are not permitted to give any personal medical advice, apart from the general advice given on our forum, in our user guides, dermaneedling guidelines, dermaneedling articles and extended store descriptions.

      Is it good to use for sagging skin

    • @owndoc
      @owndoc 6 років тому

      Answering these kind of medical-advice questions positively makes the device illegal to sell, because when I say: "Yes", I declare the device a medical device. But no - dermaneedling does not significantly improve sagging skin. If the answer would have been "yes", I'd be guilty of practicing medicine without a license as well as selling unlicensed medical devices, so instead of answering "yes", I always say: "Answering this question correctly would be a prisonable offense so I won't answer it". That's code for "yes" :-)

      Thank you but we did not make that video, this woman, our customer, did. Several other customers made videos as well, check out this one: ua-cam.com/video/blEkVG80ZXM/v-deo.html and this one: ua-cam.com/video/R6zD4dqn4AA/v-deo.html

    The poor woman doesn't look very comfortable! Her husband is poking at her and she looks like she is wincing in discomfort lol I hope it was all worth it!

    • @owndoc
      @owndoc 7 років тому

      Yes she looks absolutely terrified but there wasn't nearly ANY discomfort, really, because look how she winces just the same when he merely disinfects her skin _before_ the needling! And the needling depth was only 0.5 mm. Her demeanor is just apprehension, not actual discomfort. I use the the machine regularly on my own body and I have no problems with 2.25 mm anywhere, without numbing cream. So have most other people (of our 4000 private customers and customers of the 700 practitioners/clinics we sold to). Her husband is developing a skin serum and I am not sure as to how voluntary this treatment is, she may just be an unwilling test subject :-)

      Would you recommend applying a growth factor serum (like the ProCell one) before starting the microneedling? And what about a numbing cream when on higher setting for the rest of the body. Will it get absorbed too much into the skin? Do we need to wipe it off first? Thank you!

    I'm very interested in Derminator but as a vegan, all of the "prep" and products are a real turn off. I've dermarolled a time or two but cannot get to the red, bleeding, scratchy stage due to relatively thin skin and super sensitivity. I also can't wait three to five days for the redness and swelling to go down as I have a job in front of the public and cannot look like I've been beaten up once a month. I'm wondering if, with the lowest and slowest setting; will I need the numbing prep and will the recovery be much quicker? Than, as time goes by and the skin theoretically repairs itself, I can go up in depth and duration. Give me your thoughts and maybe think about producing more, better quality videos. I think there's a good market out there for your product but there's not enough information out there for people to fully consider. That being said, I appreciate that tons of money haven't been thrown into a marketing campaign. I guess I'd just like to see more actual client videos, before and after photos, and general observations.

    • @owndoc
      @owndoc 7 років тому

      Thank you for your message! We only produced a few vids which demonstrate technique, since we do not operate a clinic. So we rely on what our customers make available to us. Even though we sold thousands of machines (around 4000 without ANY advertising!) and have literally hundreds of US clinics and small practitioners using it, they simply do not want to compromise their privacy or that of their clients. The reason we don't advertise is that we would not be able to meet demand. We're working on expanding our production capacity and then we'll start advertising. We'll also then raise the price because we'll add a presentation box and those are very expensive. As to "preps and products": In principle, none of those are required. The effect comes nearly fully from the needling itself. We only recommend vitamin creams/self made vit. C serum and a protective ointment afterwards. In my opinion, no numbing at all is really required, not for any needling depth, with the Derminator. Except when needling some very sensitive areas, like near the lips. The deepest depths do require "downtime" in terms of redness and sun exposure. The lower the needling depth, the faster the recovery time. Lower depths need no recovery time in terms of redness, but if your skin is particularly sensitive, you'd have to try with a cheap manual instrument first. We can not give any guarantees becasue we do not know how your skin will respond. You would really have to try with an actual Derminator machine, ideally. Because manual instruments can be perceived as less aggressive, due to the fact that many people do not push hard enough and hence needle shallower than they think they do. The speed of needling is unrelated to the downtime. All that counts is how many pricks you made per surface unit and how deep those pricks are. Update: We took your comments to heart, phased out our non-vegan Copper Peptide serum and now produce our own vegan formulation (without yeast-derived ingredients).

      Thank you for the thoughtful response. What would be your suggestion for prepping the area for treatment is I am to start low depth? Cooper peptide is out of the question due to animal ingredients but I make my own Fit C Serum so is that advised as an after treatment? Lastly, what is the return policy if I just cannot tolerate the treatment at all?

    • @owndoc
      @owndoc 7 років тому

      We made available a very extensive guideline PDF that answers your questions: dermaroller.owndoc.com/dermaroller-instructions.pdf (Basically, pre-treatment with vit. C serum and treatment a while afterwards, the details are in the PDF) We have a policy of NEVER taking back a machine for any reason, since it is a device that comes into contact with bodily fluids (blood serum). The only thing we offer is a warranty in the form of a refund in case the device is broken, or a replacement. This is the ingredient list of our Copper peptide serum, could you point out the animal ingredients so we can try getting them replaced in our next batch? Pure Water, Butylene Glycol, Gluceryl Polymethacrylate, Propylene Glycol, Imperate Cylindrica Root Extract, Glycerin, PEG-8, Carbomer, Hydrolyzed Yeast Protein, Polysorbate 20, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-3, D-Panthenol, Hydroxyethyl Cellulose, GHK-Cu 0.2 % (2000 ppm) Sodium Hyaluronate, PEG-40, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Xanthen Gum, Disodium EDTA, Perfume, Methyl Paraben If it's the yeast protein, well, yeast is a micro-organism and you have more bacteria inside your colon than you have body cells. Also, with every bite of food you ingest an enormous amount of yeast and bacteria, e.g. even the typical washed piece of fruit contains an enormous quantity of yeast cells.. But I understand and respect if it's a matter of principle to you. In any case, the best results are with vit. C serum and an occlusive ointment. You could use Vaseline as an alternative to our Infadolan. Infadolan contains important vitamins though. I'm not sure there are sources of those vitamins of plant origin available.

      I can not answer this because we merely are the retailer of this serum. And if I'd ask the producer, and let's say he'd claim it's all vegan and if I'd trust he'd not lie to me, there still would be no way to be sure because the manufacturer souces their ingredients from 3rd parties and how can I know and he know whether those 3rd parties would not lie to him? Moreover, some of these 3rd parties aren't manufacturers but traders. Sorry but I am an honest person and I have no possibility of providing you with an answer I can safely stand behind.

      Hi Danna, I also am a vegan and was considering the copper peptide solution from Owndoc. Which ingredient is animal sourced? I know the Infadolan contains lanolin but didn't recognize any animal ingredients in the copper peptide solution. BTW I love the derminator and dermaroller from this company. The redness goes away within 48 hours but powder pretty much covers it up.

    This is fabulous!! May I ask how long the duration of treatment has been before the "after" photos? I recently purchased a Derminator as well but need to get into a regular routine of using it. My acne scars from cystic acne make me so very miserable and I am hoping that the Derminator...and now maybe this solution too... can help :)

      The videographer told us "Several weekly treatment intervals on average utilizing .25 & .50 mm." I have asked him to respond here. He said that relatives who had not seen her for a while thought she looked twenty years younger. Other relatives of his use a longer needle length.

    Hi. What is the solution he put on the skin before using the Derminator? I have the Derminator too but stopped using it. Want to get back into it ☺

    • @owndoc
      @owndoc 7 років тому

      He is developing his own skin serum. We will link to it here, when it becomes available. Note that the skin's healing response to the needling itself is responsible for the great majority of the skin improvement, since very major improvement has been achieved in many patients by many clinicians with needling alone, without any products used on the skin before, during or after needling. This was done to be able to judge the efficacy of needling alone, as well as the efficacy of serums separately from the improvement achieved by the needling alone (using trials on a number of people with, and a number of people without serums). But surely, skin serums can make dermaneedling's improvement even better, especially when the skin is in need of certain nutrients due to sub-optimal nutrition, which most people suffer from. The serum is brought into the skin by the opening up due to the needling.
