I did the W Trek just recently (October 2024) with a buddy. It was fantastic. We also went there via Puerto Natales. It was great to see the footage you took that I remember so well. You did an excellent job on this video, one of the best I've seen. We travelled the opposite direction, starting at Grey L. Our plan was to take the boat to the glacier and then hike to Paine Grande, but the boat was cancelled due to high wind. We had also planned to stay at Refugio Grey so that was the first adjustment to our plans. So instead we caught a car ride with a park employee (super nice gal) over to the the boat launch on Lago Pehoe and went across to Paine Grande where we started our hike. We went up to the Grey glacier the next day, walking past the refugio (with a short break) and on to the suspension bridge. Then we hiked back to Paine Grande so that was a fairly long day. We stayed at Paine for 2 nights then Refugio Frances in one of their raised tents. It was cold and rainy but very comfortable. The French Valley was amazing. We climbed to the Mirador Britanico in the bright sunshine, and the mountain views were stunning. In total we did the hike in 4 days. The 4th night was spent at Refugio Central. We flew back to Santiago where we spent several days, and also went to the coastal town of Valparaiso which was also a highlight. Then we flew back to good ol' boring Ottawa. LOL This was a bucket list trip for this 61 yr old Canadian. What an amazing trip!!

Good job on the video. You mentioned you drove to hotel Los Torres. What did you do with the vehicle? You took the boat from Hotel Grey and where did the boat drop you off to catch the bus...tks.

Thank you for the video! My husband and I are considering doing the W trek this coming November. Were there many people camping during November or did it seem that since it was colder most people stayed in cabins?

Looks beautiful! Sorry to hear about the man's passing. We are headed to do this in the opposite direction (taking the boat from Hotel Grey to Refugio Grey then going west to east) in a few weeks. We are hoping for good weather like you had!
