Writing a book and imposter syndrome || The habit of writing || Write with me
I had to stop writing for two weeks. Despite how much i want to write my book life doesn't always follow my plans. After our entire family was sick I fell out of the habit of writing every day. Then it became easier to not write rather than to make myself sit down and get to work. I realised that i need the daily habit of writing in order to be my best writer self. I am writing a book and this is how my brain works best to achieve that.

Already re evaluating my writing goals || Planning my writing as a new writer || New writer goals

It is time for a writing update. I decided it was a good idea to set up a planner for my writing. I marked how long it took me to write draft 1 and then draft 2. Then, there are new writing goals and specific timeframes for finishing my book. It is not easy writing a book when you are a mum. #authortube #newwriter #writingupdate
Writing Goals and Dreams for the New Year || 2025 Writing goals and plans || Write a book with me

It is a new year, and it is time to set those writing goals and start smashing them-at least that is the general idea. I am writing draft 3 of my first book. It is a fantasy romance, a romantasy, if you will. I am working on writing this book as a first-time writer, so my main goal for this year is simple: I want to finish writing my book. I want to reach the point of holding a completed manusc...

Its time for a writing update. Pawrico challenge still going strong. 12000 words in and I sent the prologue and first chapter to Meredith E. Philips aaaa! I was so scared and yet it was amazing. I am a member of her patreon and as a new writer working on my first book her feedback was invaluable. I am so nervous about showing my first book to anyone other than me. It is hard writing a book. But...
Writing challenge Update Week 1 December || Write a book with me || Writing draft 3
Переглядів 22Місяць тому
I have started writing for my December writing challenge. To say I am having a hard time getting into revising and rewriting is an understatement. Writing a book is hard, and there is nothing more to say about that. I am going to stick with this, though, and I will get to the other side. Let's write a book. #authortube #newwriter #pawric2024

The last November writing challenge update as we move in to December. Nanowrimo and its equivalents may be done but Pawrico is still going strong until the end of January. I am officially going into Drafting mode from today and i am freaking out a little. We will see how much all this prepping and outlining will actually help in the long run. Writing a book with children in tow is an interestin...

It is week 3 of November writing challenges and I fell like I am finally on track. It took me long enough. This Sunday i finally start writing Draft 3 of my fantasy romance. I am so glad i decided to follow Pawrico this year because i would have never been able to do anything if i only had a month. That is the truth. This writing challenge has made me make more progress than ever but it is also...

It is time for another writing challenge update. The month of Nanowrimo and so many more challenges are well underway. I am personally doing the Pawrico 2024 Challenge and working on prepping for draft 3. I will be starting the writing process on the 1st of December, and I am seriously itching to get started. But first, it is storyboard time. I have set up my save-the-cat beats, and I am about ...

It is officially day 11 of the Writing challenge and I am trying my best to not feel behind. I think a lot of people on youtube and Instagram are in similar positions this year. I have finished reading through draft 2 and i am now working on figuring out my plan of action in regards to working on draft 3. I am sticking with November of the pawrico 2024 challenge is going well.
My November Writing Challenge || Pawrico 2024 day 1 || Nanowrimo sort of
Переглядів 253 місяці тому
It is officially November which means writing challenges are well underway. i have to say i am changing the goals and rules for my challenge whilst still being well within what the. Pawrico 2024 challenge is all about. It is the reason I liked the idea of the Pathfinders Writing Collective over the classic Nanowrimo challenge. Because if i only had to write in Novemeber i would be done already ...

I had to change my Preptober Goals. The reality is that no matter how many writing goals we set, life gets in the way. I am set on writing my first book so the only thing I had to do was re-evaluate my goals for this writing challenge and keep writing. I am also definitely going to be doing write with me vlogs and work through it all with you guys.

It's Preptober time. Trying to stick to my goals and be ready to start draft 3 of my fantasy romance is proving rather difficult right now. I might need to re-evaluate how long i have given myself to finish draft 2. Writing a book when you are a mom is hard.

It is the season of writing challenges. We all know what is happening in the writer world and so we are here to find new things to do. I will be doing the Pathfinders Writing Collective Challenge. It is such an amazing community of writers supporting each other plus the goals and path choices are so realistic and you can find something that works for you.
The clicking of your keyboard is so satisfying 😂

🥰🥰
No, you do not look like a mess. You look lovely. 😊 So impressed with how organised you are. Absolutely best of luck on draft 3! 😄
Thank you so much. I love your videos by the way. The animation is so cute. ☺️
@@BookishThings4242 Oh, thank you so much!!!
Huge congrats on hitting all those beats! Really sorry to hear that you've been suffering with imposter syndrome. Not sure if this is helpful or not, but I personally never suffer with imposter syndrome and I think I know why. It isn't because I feel like I am smart or accomplished or that I know what I'm doing. I don't. It's more because I think, on some level, nobody in the world really knows what they're doing. All of your favourite, most successful, best selling authors out there, they aren't geniuses who know the answers to all the secrets and mysteries of writing. They're just regular people who thought that writing seemed fun and wanted to give it a go. And when their novel hit the best sellers list, they were probably in complete shock about it because they figured, "but I'm not a REAL writer. I'm just a regular person who wrote a book." ... And the truth is, that's all a "real" writer is. A regular person who decided to write a book. 😊
I love this. I need to tell myself this more often.
I have never heard of "Archetypal Characters" before. I should really look into that. Thank you! For my characters, I have been using the Myers Briggs Type Indicator to try to learn more about different personality types that my characters might fall into. I find it really helps. 😊 And wow, I didn't realize that "Shower Thoughts" was an actual thing. 😝 Also, no, it would not be completely crazy to change the POV now. Do whatever feels right to you. 😄
The only time I can think 😂 🚿 I am so on the fence about the pov. There are positives either way. I am probably going to soldier through a little more and decide closer to when I start writing again.
The whiteboard is a great idea, I didn’t realize how much was involved in writing a book, not saying I thought it was easy by any means, but it’s so complex and one would never know just how much goes into the process. This is all so interesting.
I had no idea either until I started researching and actually committed to writing this book. It’s amazing. Lots of work but fun at the same time. And tiring 😆
Your daughter is adorable, she made me smile.
Your keyboard is really nice, I really like that sound it makes as you are typing too.
I’m happy for you, this is very exciting.
Sorry to hear you've been ill. Hope you feel better! Oh WOW! Your second draft is a leviathan! I hope you're really, really proud of everything you've done so far. You definitely should be. ☺
Thank you 😊 yes I am definitely proud of myself
Great to find a fellow PaWriCo member! Looking forward to following your progress 💕
Yay. Good luck 😊
Really sorry about your hand and your back. Hope you feel a lot better. Glad that it gave you time to think about your story and where you want to go with it though. Definitely better to figure out all this stuff before you finish the draft than finish the draft and then realise all the little changes you need to make after. Don't worry, you got this!!! ❤ 2:09: Hello again! 😊
Thank you. It was as though everything was telling me to take a step back I guess. 😅
Try not to beat yourself up if you have days when you don't get any writing done. Stuff comes up and life takes priority. I've had loads of days where I've decided, "I have some free time today and I'm going to spend all that time writing!" And life just says, "Nope. Unexpected family emergency. No writing for you today!" You've just got to learn to let those days go and not let them discourage you. ❤ 23:20 Your daughter is so cute btw! ... Hellooooooooooo! 😁
Thank you 😊 yes that is definitely something I am working on. Not easy but I am getting there.

Also, really sorry to bring it up, but you did actually forget to post the link to Pathfinder in the description. 🤫
I did forget 😂 up as a comment
New sub! Never actually heard of "Pathfinder" before. Glad to see that there's a similar challenge to The Novel Writing Month That Shall Not Be Named. Thanks for letting me know. So much respect that you're writing a novel while homeschooling two girls. That's light writing in nightmare difficulty mode. The whole dark fairy tale concept sounds amazing by the way. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much ☺️
