Jerry Garcia Interview about Egypt

Here's 7 minutes of an interview with Jerry Garcia that I had as filler on a cassette. All I had written on the tape case was Garcia Interview about Egypt from WLIR-FM. It's a fun 7 minutes of conversation mostly about the Grateful Dead playing in Egypt.

Here's an excellent Bob and Rob show from Empire Court at the NYS Fairgrounds 1991. Encore is missing. Overall, the sound is good, sometimes gets a bit distorted for a short time, especially during part of the Bass solo. Slight cut at the start of The Winners due to a tape flip. Well I was there, beautiful day/ evening. They sounded really good, Wasserman great sound. You could get a bath from the amount of spit coming out of Bob singing
Why didn't he just play with the Dead
AMAZING SHOW AND SO PROUD THE GRATEFUL DEAD MADE THIS POWERFUL JOURNEY TO EGYPT!!!! WHO IS LISTENING ON NOV 2 2024 ❤️❤️❤️❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️????? RIP JERRY GARCIA ROBERT HUNTER AND PHIL LESH< always alive in our hearts>. Eclipse of the moon on a full moon!!!
Is there much video of MHMB live? One of my favorite concerts ever - this from a prog/jazz fusion snob. I used to keep three CDs at the cottage to listen to by firelight next to the lake: Peter Gabriel's Passion, Kate Bush's Hounds of Love and Mickey Hart's Mystery Box. They all seemed to belong there.
I had a tape copy of this from years ago, for all that time til now I thought it was called Amagamlin St., cause that's what the guy who gave it to me wrote on it ha ha
Thanks for sharing. God bless Gunter RIP ..I have a dream, thought of Weir and Wolf bros .. bringing back Promontory rider
Great concert! I actually found a ticket sitting at the very front of my yard while I was mowing. It was excellent, musically speaking, and a two-fer with Hot Tuna opening.
One of my birthday shows....I was only 14 & wouldn't see my 1st electric JGB show until I was 15 at SDSU's Open Air Amp in May 1989 but...always dug this poster. I saw my 1st Dead show just few weeks prior at their last Irvine run in '89. Phenomenal "China Cat > I Know You Rider". Jerry teases & repeats the opening pick licks to China Cat over & over & over before jumpin' into it. Charlie's master soundboard sounds ridiculously good. The "Sugaree" & "Built To Last" in the first set are both winners as well. Anyway, thanks for sharing! I love what Melvin's doin' on "Knocking".
First time I got a good look at his right hand. I'm 63. Got on the bus in 1976.
Happy Jerry Daze Robert Step Up! 🌠🌌🌠✨🌟✨
Enjoying more than 30 years ago 😁🎈✌️ thanks
That would of been awesome, out of it,this world is so big,and we dont get to see it all.I would of been buzzing if i was there at Europe 72.So much glorious stuff the grateful dead done.Love to all deadheads respect from new zealand.

Miss you Jerry!
Where did you get this? Is it an album release? I want it
Is Jerry talking on a cell phone in Egyptian ruins in 1978? Probably
He was pretending to talk on a smartphone silly
If anyone can rival Bob Dylan as songwriter, it must be Robert Hunter. Just imagine if a really great Bluegrass band played some of his songs! I'd be grateful!
Was the evening show at Uncle Sam's? If so I wa sthere at the front
Thank You for sharing this 🙏🔥💘👏👏🎶🏆⛏🗿💎

First time I heard this in 1996, I ordered the CD when the performance finished. It's 2021 and I still listen to it!
any background info on this Robert? He comments in the middle about the 2 versions of Valley Road and "they can use whichever one they want"
Sounds like it's for broadcast, maybe radio? On Spotify Premium (UK) have listened to Talking in a Whisper which is radio interview & performing of few of these tracks from 1993/94.
I was there. It was a gas.
Wow. I can’t even imagine. Any crazy moments?
You were there for this interview?
@@sSmOkeBLuNtSs No, not for the interview. I was at the gigs.
@@berryseinfeld6772 Loads!
I love this band. The Mint Juleps were just fantastic! Hunter's lyrics and Mickey's great music mixed with their vocals was a unique sound. I wish he'd do it again!
My favorite version of promontory rider
No doubt. After G's coma, I caught Hunter at the Channel in Boston '86 or '87 and he kicked ass. And his Promontory rocked the house. Thrill to see him. And then 8 yrs later I sent him an email about how much the work of he and his friends meant to so many - and few days later I get an email back that said simply "Dave, as a wise old man once said, the work of me and my friends is just yourself writ large" - RH. I printed it but then thought emails were forever and lost track of the printed one. Best Kevin.
This is hot Talk of the town is one of my Fav all time tunes
Thank you
