MOST ABSURD things Crocheters Hear (And how we really wanted to answer!)
I know you already heard some of these sentences before, and we all HATE THEM!
I have been crocheting amigurumi for almost a decade now, and some of these comments are more common than you think.
Thank you for suggesting each of these sentences (although I wish you didn't have to hear any of them!)
But I am curious to hear from you, about which of these insane comments you relate to and what are the other ones I didn't cover in this video!
This was a very funny video to make and I hope you have a great time watching it too. Grab your crochet hook, and let's have some fun together!
I would love to have you in my Crocheniacs Community!

      Story I heard. Very glad not my experience. When parent pushes their child over with a dollar and child tells me they want something I’m selling for 20+bucks is their favorite and offer me their dollar for it. So I point them to a popping mushroom or something like that I’ll sell them for their dollar, even though they’re 3.+ And then they start to pout and cry that the 20 dollar + toy is their favorite and they want it really badly, when I say I’m sorry. And when I stick to my guns. Mom usually gives me a dirty look as they move on. Sometimes saying something nasty. One I even got a Karen.

    I’ve not been crocheting an entire year quite yet, but I have heard ALL OF THESE COMMENTS. Lol. It’s exhausting! Even before I learned, I would have NEVER been so thoughtless and insulting! I HOPE most folks are just clueless, not deliberately thoughtless, but sadly that isn’t my experience. It’s a bummer. I guess all we can continue to do is kindly reeducate, eh? 😉. unfortunately, these are super common! I am surprised to hear that you already heard them too! What can we do, right? Educate people, more and more! My mom was at the gym one of these days, and she heard 2 women talking that they do not crochet because this is for old people. Immediately, my mom interrupted them and defended the cause 🤣 She was like "No way! Crochet is for everyone! My daughter is young (although I am not kkk) and she crochets" And thanks again for supporting me and always cheering for me dear! 😘

      Crocheting is working with loops. Knitting is with knots. I've been crocheting for 58 yrs. And thanks to UA-cam I'm learning new things. But I have also found out the language of how patterns are written aren't consistent.

    Hello! Sorry to bother, but I have a big question. I did 8 rows of multiples of 6, by row 8 I have 48. Then did 8 rows of 48 for the middle part. But when I started decreasing, which the first decreasing row should give me 42, I have 1 stitch left between my 42 stitch and my marker. What did I do wrong? :c I hope I can get help. Thank you for the video!!

    • @Crocheniacs
      @Crocheniacs 15 годин тому

      Hi! You don't bother me, I am happy to answer your question. You probably counted the stitches wrong at some point or made an extra increase. Are you counting stitches after you finish every round? In the beginning, it is completely normal to have an extra stitch or miss one. Depending on what you're doing, you can simply ignore this mistake and continue practicing 😅 One stitch shouldn't make a big difference 🤭

    I've made amigurumi with woobles kits and aliexpress kits and they are both really good! Woobles is kinda expensive but it's really good if you've never made amigurumi before and the aliexpress ones are good value for money but I would recommend them only to advanced amigurumi makers (also yes their yarn is kinda bad because it splits, unlike the woobles yarn)

    • @Crocheniacs

      For more experienced crocheters like you, I don't think the kit is so good. You already have good yarns and a crochet hook at home and you know how to crochet well. But I ordered some plush yarns from Aliexpress that were really good!

  • @cainkim42
    @cainkim42 13 днів тому

    I have bought several things from Aliexpress, Temu, and Shein. I personally have not had any issues with anything I have purchased through any of them. I have wanted to purchase some amigurumi kits for my granddaughter and myself. I just haven't decided which ones to get. I like to use cotton yarn for my amigurumis. Though I have used acrylic before. It all depends I what I am using it for and to whom I am giving it to, but as a rule I use cotton yarn. I agree though, the pattern and accessories are worth the $6. Not that I really need the hooks either but the patterns alone on etsy are almost $6. So to get some accessories to go along with it is a bonus. Thank you for the review.

    • @Crocheniacs
      @Crocheniacs 13 днів тому

      I am a cotton yarn fan just like you! I think it is easier to work with them and I like how the amigurumi looks in the end. I do think the kits are interesting, especially for beginners. But talking about patterns, I think prices can vary a lot and it also depends on the level of complexity involved. Thank you SO much for your feedback my dear! I am glad you liked the review 😘

      I have seen a lot of crochet amigurumi kits there recently, and I wanted to make sure about the quality of the products. I bought some plush yarns in Aliexpress and they were surprisingly good!

    I started crocheting because of a Woobles kit I was given BUT I find the prices crazy!! Mine was a fox and the price was around $45 😮😮 I found the videos very helpful, but I am a fan of instructions on paper (I’m old school 😉) Never tried an Aldi one, and I don’t think I will, at this point.. I do agree that acrylic yarn is… not as good - I bought some yarn on Amazon and didn’t realize it was acrylic (and in truth, I had no clue of the difference at the time) and I quickly realized that no amigurumis were coming of it!! But, since I have it and don’t want to waste it, I’m making some granny squares that will eventually become a bag, or a blanket 😊 Thank you Bianca for your videos, always so educational and helpful!

      Yeah I agree with you, it is quite expensive. And at the point that you are now, I think you benefit more from other patterns than from the kits (Your amigurumi are very cute!) It is good that you found a purpose for your acrylic yarn. I have seen some people online that prefer to crochet with acrylic, but it is not for me 😅 Thank you SO MUCH my dear Ana for your support! it means the world to me! 😘

    what exact yarn size and exact hook do u use for this. could i use a 4.5 with 3 mm and its the same or shoudl i do smaller what do u recommend?

      You can use the yarn thickness of your preference, it doesn't make a difference to achieve the square shape in the end! The cotton yarn that I use is fingering, and I crochet with a smaller crochet hook size (either 2.00mm, 2.2mm, or 2.5mm). But I already worked with plush yarn (polyester) using a 5 or 6 mm crochet hook, and it also works.
